He said it wasn't so much that she had the biggest ego, which was what he was asked, but because she wasn't putting herself into it.
Later, Tommy told her to stop all the negative talk. If she wanted to leave so quickly, then she'd have to shut up about it, otherwise Endemol would seek ways to keep her in.
He knows the show, then, does Tommy. Fact is, BB have coughed up £175k for Ulrika's presence, and they won't be happy to see her out of the traps first thing on Friday.
Mind you, Terry has two more choices to make, so there will be three of them up for eviction. If he's clever, and really wanted her out, then he'd pick two people he thinks the public will really like: Verne, and maybe Ben.
I wonder if Terry really is that clever.
Anyway, Ulrika. Why is she being paid that much? I guess they want her to
spill the beans on Sven, John Leslie etc. etc. But will she play ball? It
looks to me like she really is only there for the money, and really wouldn't
mind going on Friday.
She's very buttoned up. She's game, polite, and genuinely interested in other
people, but she's got a steely determination not to reveal anything too
personal about herself. If she keeps it up, she could well get voted off.
The public won't like that, I think.
I think what we really have here is the same problem we had in the summer,
both with Jenny and to a smaller extent, Stuart. Both were parents to young
children, and Ulrika has a seven month old baby.
She'd really rather be with her child, and who can blame her? The real
question is why didn't BB wait a year or two before inviting her?
Still, there are ripples beneath the surface. Yesterday I wrote that they are all getting along far too well so far. Actually, I should rephrase that. They are behaving very politely with each other. So far it's a forced friendliness. They're still at the weighing each other up phase. The cracks will appear.
In particular, there seems to be a British/American divide. The homegrown contingent really are sucking up to Coolio, Verne, and La Toya. Maybe they think the Americans really are celebrities, whereas they, as Terry said, have big egos but low self-esteem.
Anyway, there was a new task yesterday.
Everyone had to do something that they were famous for - singing, or presenting the weather, whatever - with Terry having to nominate the worst performer out of all them. We'll find out who he chooses tonight.
