TELLY beauty Ulrika Jonsson is getting a staggering £175,000 for her stint on Celebrity Big Brother-causing a storm among the other housemates who are on MUCH less.

Ulrika's gigantic paypacket, for up to three weeks' work, is EIGHT-AND-HALF TIMES as much as former A1 singer Ben Adams, who will get a comparatively measly £20,000.

And it's nearly SIX TIMES more than Shameless actress Tina Malone and rapper Coolio, who get £30,000 each for the series starting Friday.

Ulrika's fee is believed to be the highest EVER for the Channel 4 show-and is £25,000 higher than this year's next best-paid star, glamour girl Lucy Pinder.

But TV bosses hope Ulrika, 41, will pull in huge audiences by spilling the beans on her exes-who include former England manager Sven Goran-Eriksson, disgraced footballer Stan Collymore and shamed TV presenter John Leslie.

A CBB insider said: "Many of the other celebrities are fuming.

"When you are doing exactly the same job as someone else and they are getting paid much more, it can cause resentment. But Channel 4 thinks Ulrika is the top-billing celeb because of her past. "The revelations she may come out with will get everybody watching-we hope it's going to be TV dynamite!"

The other housemates are ex- Sugababe Mutya Buena and former Word host Terry Christian, who get between £50,0000 and £75,000 each, Liberty X singer Michelle Heaton (£60,000), La Toya Jackson (£100,000) and Mini-Me actor Verne Troyer (£136,000).

Controversial Scottish politician Tommy Sheridan is in the house too but his fee is unknown.

Ulrika-who had her fourth child in June after marrying American adman Brian Monet-is the second of Sven's past lovers to go on CBB.

Faria Alam revealed in the 2006 series that she had peed in an unnamed ex-boyfriend's tea.

The show was cancelled last year after the 2007 race row, involving Jade Goody and Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.

The Mad Hatter's tea party and much, much more has come to town! Oh come all ye faithful and settle down with glee, worship the immortals on your digital TVs! Well I am anyway, snigger, snigger and hee,hee. There's something strangely mesmerising about watching strangers doing strange things{even alien to themselves) on TV; but what a lovely wedge of cash for them at the end of their sojourn and they and us are left with a nice warm glow of curious satisfaction, however, deep inside the brain lurks the insecurities, the questions...'Am I Alice or am I the Hatter?' Hee, hee Hee! Coolio to win. xxx

I find it interesting that the majority people on this forum have not only taken the time and effort to read the article but then go on to post a comment declaring that they have no interest in CBB whatsoever an yet seem to know an awful lot about it. Just admit it you love watching but feel obliged to bitch about the celebrity line up. As for the money, if I was offered £50k to make a tit of myself for just 3 weeks, or less, I would jump at the chance.

What an amazing line up! Amazing in an absolutely tragic way, that is!! Coolio, Mini Me, Ulrika the Weathergirl, La Toya/Michael Jackson, some random former teenybop popstars. A complete freak show. I've just watched the 'Extras' episode where Ricky Gervais's character is stuck in Celebrity Big Brother. It was just too realistic - people just desperate to grab that last slither of fame. It's a shame. I just hope that viewers show some dignity and turn over.

Its not Channel 4 who is paying them this money, its the silly public who phone in and vote for them!!! so don't it....Simon Cowell must really laugh at us as he puts on shows and costs him nothing as it us & the adverts that pay, and he ripes the reqards not one charity gets a penny unless it is pressurized by a newspaper

I think its an amazing lineup, best by far!!! The celebs are targetted at the people aged around 16-30 as those are the people that watch the show mostly, I know every single one of them.

I thought the idea for CBB was that it was for Comic Relief (well the 1st one was) so why pay these has beings any money? But it appears that it is the publics money that is for the charity and the has beings walk away with a nice fat cheque.

once again mediocrity (Ulrika and the rest) are rewarded, but nice work if you can get it. Lucy Pindar 150,000 for having a big pair of jugs, not bad for a few days work,

i know its hard but just think seriously for a moment, imagine its the golden age of tv/ especially light entertainment, the late 60's and 1970's, and you by chance were talking about tv to come in the early 21st century, if you had prophecised the sort of stuff, bb, jungle etc etc we have on now people would have thought you were insane or on drugs or both.

i can't stand the women, so won't be watching if she's in the show. What about her kids, who will be looking after them while she makes a fool out of herself again, and them. She hasn't worked on television for years, and there is a big reason for that, and thats because she is the most annoying women. 4x4 will be turning into a 7 seater soon.
