The troubled 48-year-old described her stay at London's Priory clinic as "a little holiday" and vowed: "I want to take on the world. I've got my sleeves up ready. From now on there's nae cr*p."
And yesterday Simon Cowell revealed just MIAOOW SuBo aims to get back on top form . . . by heading home to stroke her beloved cat Pebbles.
She flew to Scotland yesterday after Cowell urged her to go back to Blackburn in West Lothian for the weekend to recover after her four-day stint in the clinic.
He told aides: "She needs to be with Pebbles. The best cure for her is time with her cat and her family." And an emotional Susan later admitted: "I just need to be home with Pebbles."
Show runner-up Susan-dubbed the Hairy Angel-will spend a few days in Scotland before returning to London next week to start work on demos for her debut album.
Cowell has a lucrative contract ready for her to sign-but he has also told her that he will CANCEL the deal if she would rather return to her old life.
A friend of Cowell's said: "Simon would love to turn Susan into a big star around the world-but only if she wants that."
Susan went into the Priory last Sunday after reports that she was "behaving strangely" at her hotel following her defeat in the final by dance act Diversity.
But yesterday her brother John said the shy singer was on great form she headed home to Blackburn.
John, 59, beamed with joy as he told us: "I have spoken to Susan and she is very excited and positive about the future.
"She told me, 'Don't worry. I'm having the time of my life.' She said she felt fantastic and couldn't wait to come back home this weekend.
"She was giggling away and sounded more relaxed than she has in ages."
Susan-who booked into the Priory under the name of Geraldine after Peter Kay's spoof reality TV show character-also told a close pal that she was "not f***ing mad", but that she was "exhausted and had had a breakdown".
John said: "That's the thing with Susan. She suffers from these mood swings, so I hope that now she's out of the clinic she's OK.
"I also hope she's been reassured by Simon Cowell's people that everything's on track with her career and that she can now start looking forward."
He said SuBo was delighted when Cowell rang her at the Priory to reassure her that her career was on track.
"By all accounts it gave her a real boost and I hope that I can thank him soon for all the help he's given her," said advertising company boss John. But he blasted Britain's Got Talent executives for not giving his sister- who has mild learning difficulties- enough help and pushing her "to the brink".

He said: "She was put under extreme pressure and I don't think they handled the situation well. These were exceptional circumstances and they had a duty of care towards her.
"I'm very angry about it. They could have done more to help Susan.
John also revealed his fears for his sister's future-and who she might get mixed up with.
"She can be very influenced by other people. She never listens to her family. It's part of her slight disability. She's very naive," he said.
John's fears were echoed by another brother, Gerry, who accompanied Susan as she had talks with record company chiefs on Friday about plans for an album.
Gerry, 55, said: "She thinks the best of everyone-that's her upbringing, she takes everyone at face value.
"A part of her thinks she can walk down the street and nothing is different to before.
"But it's not like that any more-she's a worldwide phenomenon. We just hope she doesn't get taken for a ride by unscrupulous people.
"There will be quite a lot of guys after her now." But he thinks any men after her money will get short shrift. I don't think Susan will get married. Maybe if someone sweeps her off her feet, but she won't be looking," he said.
Gerry says the first thing she'll do with her earnings is buy her £80,000 four-bed council home in Blackburn where she lives alone with 10-year-old pet Pebbles.
It has has been rented by her family for 50 years and SuBo still sleeps in the same room she had as a child.
Gerry said: "She will keep the house as part of the family and if she can afford a bigger house she will buy that too."She's certainly not going to buy a Jaguar or do this and that and fritter the money away-she can't even drive!"
He said Susan- who has scraped by on benefits for the last 27 years-plans to give away much of the cash she expects to make, mostly to her surviving siblings-John and Gerry, Mary, 75, Bridie, 72, Joe, 62 and James, 58. "She's making noises that that she will give all the money to her family," Gerry laughed. "That's her all over -she's so generous.
"Money is not really important to her. What she wants is a successful singing career and to be respected."

She is the youngest amongst 9 sublings and is suppose to have a learning disability, yet she is the one who took care of the parents when they were sick up to the time of their death.
So where were her family during the time the parents were sick ? Where they too busy with their own lives and not bother to help out with the ailing parents and delegated it to Susan?
Everyone knows how difficult it is to take care of ailing loved ones, that takes a lot of patience, determination, courage, etc. That requires a lot of strength physically and mentally to deal with this every single day, and she did it for YEARS !
Who has the handicap then ? Not Susan on my books !

For skilled worker and Sam...Don't be such a jealous crybaby! As for skilled worker, you can whine all you want but with your attitude I'm betting the stress was brought on by nobody else but you. Susan was belittled, lied about, intruded upon, her privacy invaded....none of which she asked for, she only wanted to be validated like every other human being on the planet. In case you don't know what "validated" is...it is what you were trying in your own way to be, the only difference is you got "MEAN" about it .

Quote: "She never listens to her family. It's part of her slight disability." I know people like that, it is not a disability at all, it is being stubborn. Another quote: "She has scraped by on benefits for 27 years." Where was the family then? Were they helping her out? They had all left home, leaving her to be a caregiver of her elderly parents. Not an easy job. I know, I have done it. Did she get help from the family - a day off here or a few days away?
I wish Susan all the very best. I listen to her singing many times a day. What an inspiration! What a voice! And she is so beautiful.

I think without a doubt that Susan "spoke" to the soul in Simon Cowell before she sang ten words, and it made him feel that, here, in the most unlikely and astonishing circumstances, is truly a kindred spirit. And this certainly wouldn't surprise me at all seeing as how people the world over, both young and old and everything in between, feel the same way! --I hope it is possible for Susan's dream of owning her home comes true so that she will always have a place to go when she wants to get away from everything else. I think she needs that very much. The neighbors will get over their problems. Most people usually do. From another fan in America!

I can't believe the family that talks about the responsibility of the organization that just met her---they KNEW her. WHERE WERE THEY when she needed them? In fact, where were they when she was trying to be a singer? When their parents needed care? I came from a large Catholic family, too, and everyone chips in...Where did her insecurities come from? I never heard a peep from any of the family until shy Susan's hard push to make a career paid off, and the profit potential became real, and then suddenly these family members came out of the woodwork saying "we" this and "we" that...you hear the exploitation from THEM!
By Rosamond Jones. Posted June 14 2009 at 12:41 AM.
Susan if you by any miracle ever read this. Take care of yourself. People will change around you when the money comes in. Your so called friends will suddenly increase & that will include your family. They too will seem suddenly closer & more interested in you. I read what your brother said, & I wouldnt believe them. If the family can keep you down & make you believe you are mad that will increase their power over you & will be able to take what they want(money). I can believe they would do this & be willing to take all your money if you offered it. But the right thing for them to do is not touch it. If anything they should not change their ways they have treated you in the past which I am sure making you feel down trodden. I am a distant relative & understand what can run in the blood of your family. So be very careful especially to those who is close to you. My Grand Mother was your Grand Mothers sister. I would be very wary of the family & I know Simon is a busy man but take what he says to heart about this & keep it there. Sorround yourslef with people who will up-lift you but dont put your trust into any-one. Take care Craig

Susan Boyle is a strong minded person, this is not disability. I wish her family will stop saying she has disability. She is now a world superstar so what ever her family say will facilitate more negativity on her to the paparazis, especially now she is so famous. Stop calling her names and she should be referred as BGTsuperstar. I also hope the family will not be so greedy about her income. She should have the freedom to enjoy her income and should keep for old age. I know Simon Cowell will look after her interest and manage her well financially, health, and security. Susan its time now to think about yourself and your future. You must love yourself and put yourself first. Good luck Susan Boyle. On behalf of all in Australia, take care and lots of love. We will wait for your cds.

I'm always in youtube to hear Susan Boyle's songs. For me, it's awesome! Uplifting! Thanks for joining BGT, otherwise, we won't hear the angelic voice of Susan Boyle!
Trust Simon Cowell, he will boost your singing career.
Waiting for the release of your CDs soon.....

I don't know that I have ever had as much respect for another musician as I do for Susan Boyle. She has totally swept us away with her gorgeous voice and her open heart. America anticipates her arrival like we did the 4 lads from Liverpool in the 60's! Have we ever been so moved by a single performance? I dreamed a dream will always be her signature, she OWNS that song. Can't wait to hear more of the songs that she has been quietly developing over the years. I will buy every album she wants to release. I hope she learns to trust her own judgement over that of "coaches".
By ultravioletrae. Posted June 9 2009 at 8:35 PM.
Even though you didn't win first place, in GOD's eyes you are "FIRST" because you are a very nice humble person. God wouldn't want you to fall down and waste the gift that he had given you. Take advantage of this opportunity. Eventually, you will learn how to deal with the media, people that may get jelous of you, etc. Please be very strong. My husband and I knows you can make it. Maybe this is God's plan for you to be able to help our "Society" to get back to old, beautiful music. Take it easy, relax and enjoy life. Continue to pray and be close to God. He loves you and He will always protect you. Even though Simon gives harse remarks sometimes, we know he has a good heart and we love him too. God Bless him also.
By Myrna & David. Posted June 9 2009 at 8:34 PM.
Susan, all the best to you.
With respect to some of the above comments...some were just plain rude and stupid! It is with great certainty that Susan Boyle with legal advice and services for her career and any contracts 'ole Simon might be offering her. AS for her personal problems those are being addressed and cared for as well.
This all new to Susan either she is a good actress or she needs as much support as she can get/have. She has an amazing voice.
By Katie. Posted June 9 2009 at 7:39 PM.
Susan has a beautiful voice. She is an interesting
person. None of us is perfect. I am will buy
her CD's. I hope they don't pressure her, since
she doesn't handle pressure well. She did plenty of work when she took care of her elderly parents.
All the jealous people should shut up!
By pollylikesscots. Posted June 8 2009 at 8:09 PM.
Now that you are famous, you will have all kinds of people trying to get close to you for their own gain. Be very careful. Let your family and Simon help defend you from unscrupulous folk. Just tell them all to "bug off"! I love your voice and hope you are around recording or whatever for a very long time! You are a bright light in a very dark and dreary world. Get rest, good food, etc and please don't try to make yourself over as you are fine the way you are. Let the grey hair come back as you earned it by caring for your aging parents and dealing with all the bullies! You are a diamond in the rough. We had Jenny Lind the Swedish Nightingale and now we have the Scottish Nightingale. Good luck in all you do.

You've got a beautiful voice. Someone mentioned Obama's big fan of yours, I surely do hope so.
I'm big fan of Obama and you as well.

Susan is a great singer, I listen toher two songs every day, best of luck to you, susan, you won in all of our hearts here in America.
The family coming out of the woodwork is worrisome, I think they all see big money being handed to them, Susan is a lovely lady, a little bit nieve, and I'd hate to see her being used or taken advantage of. Get a good manager, not family!
By Jackie. Posted June 8 2009 at 3:22 AM.
Susan I think you are wonderful as do all my other friends in Australia. I would like you to sing AMERICA THE BEAUTIFUL when you sing on the front lawn of the White House for President of the United States who I have believe is also a big fan of yours. The whole of America would be brought to tears, it would suit your voice so beautifully.

Susan,
Yo have inspired so many people with your singing. I can't wait for your CD.
By the way, I wish everyone would stop talking about learning disabilities. They now think that Einstein was dyslexic, which is a learning disability.
Susan, big hugs from Washington, DC.

Let's stop being so cynical about her family. I actually think with Simon Cowell's guidance Susan will be in good hands. I don't think he's the cold-hearted stone people think he is. So she'll be just fine. With that kind of contact do you not think she'll be connected to good lawyers and the like. Even so, I for one am DELIGHTED by the fact she DOES have family looking out for her. Who cares if they are sharing the spotlight? Maybe they are just excited for their baby sister. Yes there are families that squabble and fight, and sometimes have alterior motives, but even here in Canada, those of us with Scottish roots - THE CLAN STAYS CLOSE. So cut them some slack until you see otherwise. Stay close to your bible Susan, watch your tongue, and GO SING! Do us Scots proud.

I get the feeling Simon will stand by you Susan, you are a quiet introverted person who has not had the ugliness of this much attention, you are a lovely person who just wants to be happy singing and you have such a voice to do so - try to enjoy the madness you will no doubt come across because of the attention but as long as you have people around you who want the best for you, you will, simon can provide that.

Good luck to her..She has a great voice
By jac. Posted June 7 2009 at 11:31 PM.
My husband is the oldest of ten children and was placed in the role of being the third parent. Susan was so much younger than her siblings, perhaps she resents their advice and rightfully so.She is a grown woman and for all the talk of learning disabilities, she appears to be well within normal limits. She has certainly had to stretch in the past few weeks as she has had little experience with the press, traveling, performing large venues etc. I have several graduate degrees and a 25 year professional career and I would have been totally intimidated by being on Larry King Live or Oprah.
I just wish we could get past all of the negative statements that seem to be in every article. Spinster is a word and a concept that I thought was long dead. We have worked to see that women are not defined by the men in their life. Too many women stay in bad marriages and abusive relationships because they do not think they can survive without a man.
I don't think there is anything wrong with Susan's appearance. Can we have one article that doesn't call her the hairy angel, comment on her learning disabilities or her lack of male attention?
I like so many others wish Susan the best. I think the press errs when they become negative because the story here is that so many people around the world have been caught up in Susan's dream. We want it to become true.
Susan, best of luck to you. We love you.
By Jean R. Posted June 7 2009 at 10:50 PM.
I cannot imagine you folks are still talking negative about the phenominal Susan, yes if she wasn't worthwhile talking about, you folks would not waste time so chill out. We all were given talents in whatever area and did not pursue it except wait for handouts from the government and judge others, clean up your act first and leave Susan alone.
By Luros. Posted June 7 2009 at 8:51 PM.
I thought you were brilliant.Good luck and all best wishes for the future. george
By g.holloway. Posted June 7 2009 at 8:56 PM.
Yet again negative comments from jealous people who have to stoop low and say things like "looney." Just shows how immature those people are.
Yes loads of people have had a hard life. But have they had such a long history of being bullied? Were they then bullied by the newspapers?
Susan was the real winner and should've won. Dance acts come and go, but Susan can crack the music industry and I think Simon knows this.
I hope Susan has the strength to overcome the mindless critics who are out here.
Susan you are the best. Please don't give up on your dream and don't let them get you down.
You are a real inspiration.
Some people do really need to get a life and do something constructive instead of adding to this woman's misery.

Re Joannes comment.....I don't agree with you. Susan is not a spoiled brat and all the contestents. I agree with you that the pressure was on all them but not to the same degree as Susan. did not have same pressure on them. Were any of the others known world wide like Susan...NO. It is not Susan's fault that the Winners are not getting all the publicity. Obviously the media does not believe that writing about the winners of BGT is going to sell their newspapers. Susan, entered the contest, just like everyone else and yes everyone snickered at her....but she surprised all of us. Give her a break and wish her well.......maybe there are some that are jealous but from looking at the comments on the web from all over the world the majority of people love her and only wish her the best for the future. Yes, Diversity won the contest, I don't take any of that away them...they were great, but Susan won the world over, that's just how it is.

Well, Im not feeling sorry for susan. She lost to well deserved winners. Im not saying she is rubbish, im saying she knows how to play people. She is not stupid. Dont forget everyone.....Everybody was under incredible stress with the whole process of BGT, not just Susan. Ive hardly seen anything of the Winners, because Ms Susan has played a great game, even reports from neighbours were saying there is a spoilt brat side to her if she doesnt get her way!. We have seen that alright. No need for her behaviour no matter what stress she was under. EVERYNOE WAS STRESSED THAT WK OF BGT...DONT SEE THEM BEHAVING LIKE A SPOILT BRAT......

As for skilled worker, what a bitter, ignorant person. I have suffered over twenty years of agony after an accident and have to take large doses of morphine every day of my life to be able to move at all, but that doesn't mean I hate other people or are jealous of their good fortune or talent. skilled worker... every now and then some ordinary working class person who's had a hard life, like many of us, gets a very lucky break.
Susan Boyle did nothing more than take a gamble and go into a talent competition. How on earth was she to know OR be responsible for what happened after singing a 2 minute song?
When this happens it should be something we should be happy about, not something to be bitter and jealous about by numpty pillocks!

I really think after my phonecall to Simon she has bucked up.
I wish her all the success so she can make a contribution to the top rate of tax.

I hope that she is given support if she decides to go for the limelight. If she has learning difficulties she needs to be protected from all the vultures and star chasers she'll come across.
She just doesn't seem equipped to come with it.

Surely people can tell susan has learning disabilities, the mood swings and funny gestures show this!she is a very sweet woman, but will never be able to deal with the fame and publicity, as people with learning disibilities have unpredictable behaviour!Susan is no different and i dont understand people calling her ,this is Susan ,this is the way she is ,get over it folk!

skilled worker, you are sick. does the NHS still provide counseling? You might have to wait, but you need it
By nic. Posted June 7 2009 at 9:50 AM.
Listen Pal. I resent the fact that you use the word Scot & Pillock in the plural, insinuating that all unemployed Scot's are numpties and Pillock's.
Perhaps we should be embracing what Susan has achieved, giving her slight disability, and gives out hope for others with similar problems. Although I do agree with her family that BGT staff should've look after her from the start as it was obvious from the early shows and subsequent TV interviews on Scottish TV that she did suffer from some form of disability.

This Boyle woman should now go on make me 10yrs younger i recently told a woman in the pub she looked a bit like her, her husband and the woman had a fit. The husband denied the ressemblance and said i wouldnt have married her in the first place if she looked like the Boyle woman. Next day they were in again new hair do clothes the works.

Sad, but another one that does not know her limitations. I only hope her brother, John will be there to support her, he seems a decent guy. As for Simon, I would not trust him with my cat. Preirs seems ok. You look after your sister John. Good luck Susan.

Pleased to hear that Susan has recovered & am sure she will find Pebbles helps her. I look forward to hearing & buying her CD - she has a great voice. I hope Simon Cowell looks after her interests properly - she sounds like someone who could very easily be exploited. Best of luck Susan,

"She never listens to her family. It's part of her slight disability."
Cobblers, its called stubbornness. You can tell she has really made it now.... she has been into the priory.
.
Isn't life a joke eh? She hasn't held down a job..goes on TV and ends up with a recording contract.. Meanwhile, the rest of us have to work our @rses off and end up with a meagre pension at the end of it.

I'VE HAD OVER 3 DECADES OF STRESS, WORRY, more than SuBo will ever have
HOW EASY IT IS FOR NUMPTY unemployed scruffy SCOTS PILLOCKS TO JUST WALTZ INTO A "rehab clinic" FOR A WEEK AND HAVE ALL THE WORLD KISS YOUR FEET,..after singing a 2 minute song on the TV
no wonder the UK is a joke land full,.wannabes wags, chav's and charlatans

I am so glad Susan is feeling better, and am glad to hear that Simon will look after her business interests but I feel he will also make sure she is well taken care of as this is also in his best interest.
Thought it strange that her family had talked to her on the phone if a member of my family was ill where ever they were in the world I would be on the first plane going to see them.

Well Done Sue, enjoy yourself at home with Pebbles, he will give you such a welcome, look forward to the CD, I have a cat and he is always here to welcome me, Simon will look after you, he`s a great man

I hope Simon gives her a financial advisor - who helps protect her from everyone, including her family. They seem to love the limelight and are excited about getting her money, including the house 'for the family'.
Can we hear about Diversity, please? After all, they did win!

The fuss is all about an extraordinary voice singing great MUSIC, of which we hear so little of anymore. It is so refreshing and spirit-lifting! I'm sick and tired of hearing all kinds of degrading crap that never resembles music. Susan has touched the spirit of joy in millions of people!

I love Susan Boyle, a beautiful, talented woman, and I wish her every success. She deserves all good things that come her way. You go, Susan! well done.

Good Luck Susan and to Simon You are a good guy at heart, I know Susan will be well looked after by you.
By Girl in Canada. Posted June 7 2009 at 2:38 AM.
Still trying to figure out what the humongous fuss is all about.A middle aged woman goes on reality TV talent show and just about makes one good effort out of three at singing.Hardly the best voice ever heard in the world. Average..So the fuss is why..??? Because she is not some skinny flaccid looking 25 year old bimbo.? Not convinced by hype and hoopla and PR etc.
By Billie. Posted June 7 2009 at 2:05 AM.
Susan is a phenomenal talent and a delightful personality. I can hardly wait to purchase her cd when it comes out. If she tours in the U.S., I will try my level best to see her in person, anywhere. I love the woman and am enthralled with her voice.
Best wishes and heartfelt warmth and prayers for a happy life.
Back off all scoundrels who would hurt her. She is so vulnerable. Let's all protect and cherish her.

After her gruelling time for the last two months, I am so happy that Susan is able to return home and be reunited with her beloved Pebbles before starting off on a whole new life!
All the love and the luck in the world dearest Susan!

Simon Cowell is a very nice person, and of course he will manage the lovely Susan Boyle. He is a gentleman and a business man, and a man with a heart. I watched BGT since Susan came on Y-Tube. And all I want to say is this. Simon is a adorable man! He was concerned about Susan all the time! and now she is o.k.
By Eva. Posted June 7 2009 at 12:17 AM.
Susan is a very intelligent woman, more than her family ever should know. I"ve seen all the interviews and she gave very good answers. She is shy, and shy people, make often fun to recover it. Susan is an adorable woman and I don't believe Susan is naiief! No way!
By Raoul. Posted June 7 2009 at 12:13 AM.
I dont personally think that susan boyle will last in a singing career as she doesnt have the mentality to stick it or cope with it, harsh as that may sound its the truth, and I really think it a bit unfair that everyone seems to think that Simon Cowell is not a nice man, its all an act! he is first and foremost a businessman not a bloody councillor or shrink to wannabe stars thats not written in his cv, the man is truthful, he knows what he is talking about that why he is so famous, thats why his shows have ,millions of viewers, and thats why he is prob more than likely now a billionaire, if he isnt, he cant be far off it, but come on be fair its not his fault susan boyle fell apart, why go onto a talent show if you cannot handle the pressure of everything that comes with it?
By Gilly. Posted June 6 2009 at 11:51 PM.
As an avid Susan Boyle fan, I am delighted that she is able to return home for a few days to relax with friends and family and see Pebbles. Susan has touched the hearts of millions of global fans with her sweet face and golden voice.
Susan is magnificent!

If the money doesn't matter to her she can give her money to me as I'm skint.
By flangie. Posted June 6 2009 at 11:42 PM.
Someone needs to protect her so she has money to take care of herself in her old age.
Nice to see she wants to help her family but she needs to take care of herself first.
By Flo. Posted June 6 2009 at 10:47 PM.
I hope simon keeps his word about the contract and I hope he manages her career. not a nice person, is simon, but he is the best in the business.
