Could sax-appeal beat Boyle?

Broody sax player Julian Smith won the public vote last night to make it to the Britain's Got Talent final.

Grandfather and granddaughter singing duo 2 Grand won the judges' approval, narrowly beating cheeky-chappy child singer Callum Francis.

Boy star Callum with his Jungle Book medley, was tipped to go through. "You have got the most infectious grin I have ever seen," said Piers. "You are a natural performer. And whatever happens, I know that in 10 years time, I am going to go to the West End and you are going to be playing the lead role."

Also failing to make it through were OAP breakdancer Fred Bowers, girlband Brit Chix - "just horiible" blasted Simon" - and Fabia Cerra with illuminated big breasts.

Smoulding sax player Julian was praised by Piers for being the "coolest contestant we've ever had on this show." Amanda called him the "Best act so far, and once again you have stirred so many emotions in me that I didn't expect to feel from one instrument. You played it beautifully and I thank you for that - it was a fantastic performance."

And Simon said: "I normally hate these kind of acts but you I like. I like you as a person, you are humble, you are ambitious. You have chosen a brilliant song each time and you are unique. Without a show like this though, you wouldn't have a cats hell in chance but I think you're going to popular tonight and you have a great chance of being in Saturdays show."

Also facing Susan Boyle in the final will be 2 Grand, who managed to move Simon: " I don't know what happened to me tonight because I like the kid acts, I like the saxophone players and I really really like you two. What it is, you're not the best singers in the world but you have complete and utter sincerity the two of you.

I have to say i was in the audience and simon cowell was completely out of order to the girl band brit chix, the sound in the studio was horrendous, BGT sound crew are not obviously used to setting up live bands as the sound was all over the place, they are used to singers and not live instruments. They didnt deserve three buzzers, i have wrote into several papers about the way they got treat as it was disgraceful. I hope someone picks them up because i think they have a lot of potential.

I hope someone signs up Julian Smith he deserves it. Good luck for the future.Just a brilliant musician.Every act was very good Diversity amazing. Susan was brilliant as well but definately didnt have her usual sparkle.I felt for her.I think someone could have chosen her a more glamourous dress i am sorry but it did not do her any favours.I have a similar shape and i know i would not have worn that dress. The one she wore on the first night was not my taste but i think she looked far nicer in it.Good luck Susan for the future get some Reiki to help calm you and just enjoy yourself.I wish all the semi finals contestants good luck for the future.

All I can say about Julian Smith is Fantastic Fantastic Fantastic. Wow what a performance he gave on the sax for the final. A great sax player and I am sure that we will see a number of albums released after this and I shall certainly be waiting to buy them. This guy deserves everything that comes his way and I would like to wish Julian the very best of luck for the future.
