She kept file on year's drinking and told lawyers he's lewd and sexist

MADONNA ordered staff to compile a damning DOSSIER on Guy Ritchie's "boozing and sexist behaviour" to get a low-key quickie divorce, we can reveal.

She told close friends: "I'm going to BURY him". Then she handed pages of neatly typed "evidence" to lawyers.

The secret file, not released in court, was to support her grounds of Guy's "unreasonable behaviour" and to get custody of the three kids.

But she eventually THAWED on that issue last week-after hearing tearful daughter Lourdes, 12, tell Guy on the phone how much she missed him.

A member of Madonna's inner circle shattered the myth that the divorce case was always amicable-and revealed the lengths she went to to get her way.

Our source said: "Madonna had Guy over a barrel. She was determined to come out of this smelling of roses-and that she would not be the next Heather Mills by dragging it out in a very public way.

"Madonna was angry because she felt Guy had welshed on the deal that they would keep the happily married image going until the end of her current tour.

"So she became determined to paint him as a drunken, lewd sexist."

Madonna, 50-angered by his lads' nights out-roped in her workers to help. The source said: "She got staff to keep a record of every time he was out late or made an off-colour comment. It was bizarre as he's not a heavy drinker or abusive. He doesn't drink any more than the next man.

"But she was trying to show he'd be a bad influence on the kids, which is rubbish. Guy's a devoted dad and the kids adore him."

Madonna also hated her film-maker husband's attitude towards women.

Even in 2001, when the newlywed couple were at chef Marco Pierre White's birthday party and sexist comedian Bernard Manning did a surprise turn, Guy laughed hysterically- while his wife sat scowling.

The source said: "They were like chalk and cheese. It's a miracle they lasted eight years-and that was down to the kids."

Madonna wanted Lourdes -her daughter from a previous relationship-and sons Rocco and David Banda to live in the US with her. Guy wanted the boys, aged eight and two, in England.

But we can reveal they agreed on equal access during three recent phone calls by Madonna to Guy.

In CALL No1, they talked about both wanting custody-and decided NOT to thrash it out in open courtto spare the kids more upset.

CALL No2 saw Madonna ring Guy after putting Rocco and David Banda on a plane from LA to London on November 11.

"She didn't tell Guy that she was sending them over until they were in the air. Guy was over the moon."

In CALL No3 they agreed to joint custody of all three children. "It came after Lourdes had spoken to Guy on the phone," said the source.

"They were both in tears and told each other they loved and missed each other so much. No mother could fail to be moved by that."

Madonna is now ensuring the kids feel at home with her-by getting the designer who decorated their bedrooms in London to replicate them in her New York and LA pads.

She is determined they will get on well with her "pal" baseball hunk Alex Rodriguez, 33, and has asked him to spend more time with Lourdes to get to know her.

Our source said: "She got him to babysit Lourdes and take her shopping in LA while she was working on her tour. Now Lourdes calls him 'Mum's new best friend'."

We can reveal that Madonna spent the evening before Friday's divorce hearing with A-Rod at her New York apartment.

On Friday she took her kids to a Kabbalah Centre.

Guy, 40, meanwhile celebrated on Friday night with a meal at a Liverpool restaurant with his pals-and pretty Lauren Meek, 32.

She is assistant producer on his new movie Sherlock Holmes.

it doesnt matter where u come from,or what colour the kids are. divorce happens and theres two sides to every story. the thing is we are not celebs so our divorces are not made public. good luck to both and all i will say is that you must put your kids first . as celebs you know that things come out in the papers whether they are true or not. good luck to your kids as well.

As someone who has gone through a divorce, it is not always easy to 'get it right' when there are children involved.
I hope Guy will still be a part of the children's lives. There are so may absent fathers.

Welcome back Guy!! He always seemed like a great man when films like Lock Stock and Snatch were coming out then as the years went on he looked more and more sad and quiet.

Madonna should be thinking of her kids even more. Her daughter is on the phone in tears to her stepdad and then being given her Mum's new "friend" (not sure if they have gone public yet) as a babysitter. Great example to set for a near teenager!!

a divorce is a very difficult event to go though especially in the lime light with young children.

Marissa your comment is very offensive in my opinion. American's do not like being generalised with the fat, thick remark so then why state englishmen are typically sexist. Americans come over as sickly in my view and my hubby of 16 years is certainly not how you describe. However, I have had many visits to the U.S. and heard some remarks made by men and some are worse than over here. Guy you are well rid...good luck

As an American, I have to say that I am really pissed off about the Madge/Guy divorce. We got rid of this shallow, vain, empty-headed, talentless, egotistical hag when she packed up for England, Guy and that fake British accent of hers. Now, just because one man can't stand having his life ruined and made a living hell anymore, she's moving back to America.

Dammit, Guy, you promised she'd be gone forever and WE DON'T WANT HER HERE.

It's not really unreasonable of Madonna to scowl at a sexist joke, is it? We'd scowl at racist jokes, right?

Good on Madonna, I think a lot goes on behind the scenes in these sorts of marriages, and if she was pushed to the point where she recorded every time he was out drinking then she must have been pushed to the limit.

Besides, she got what she wanted - so there must have been some pretty damning evidence in that dossier.

He is certainly well rid. She should never have married a normal British man, obviously he is not as besotted by her and her life style as she wanted. If eating pie and chips and wanting the odd night out with his friends make him unreasonable, I wonder how many "unreasonable" males there are in Britain. As for being a gold-digger, I cannot see any evidence of that. The children should at least get some normalcy from their stays in Britain.

Madonna has never appeared to be a sane, decent person (think of Like a Virgin and Vogue let alone her recent hideous stuff) so IF Guy has been acting unreasonably it can only be down to her bizarre, controlling effect on him and I hope he picks up from this sad time and gets on with his life with people who really know true values and morals. Madonna is a foul human being. Ugly, greedy and talentless. She is not a mother she is a dowager who hires childminders. She has money which is why she has respect. She was forced on the public by the media to the point where, from about 1986 until 1996 she was the only white female singer allowed to have a mega career.
Madonna is the media's scared cow and she should be put out to pasture. Happily Guy Ritchie can have a beautiful busty and well shaped womanly woman and be free of that square torsoed geezer bird.

Interesting that the question posed is.. Is Guy better off without Madge? Well, he's about £40 million better off according to which reports you believe. Both are grown ups and should of sussed out each others characters before they married. Guy clearly an opportunist thought marrying her would boost his career. That failed. He apparently has 'his own personal fortune' but takes money from his ex wife in divorce proceedings. Wow,what a great hard man he is. You, so know that if the genders were reversed Guy would be painted as the 'Gold digger'. It is transparent and pathetic the misogynistic way the world wide press have reported this story. I am extremely annoyed, why is it that once again us common folk have been been put on hold for Madonna and Guy Richie to get their quickie divorce, I have been waiting over 6 months to end my abusive 15 year marriage, and i'm still waiting for the first court hearing, Madonna and Guy Richie annouced to the world of their intention to end their 8 year in October, and here we are in November and in 54 seconds they have acheived what I have been waiting to do for 6 months on the same grounds, why can't they wat their turn like everyone else, just goes to prove what I'v always said money speaks volumes.

I can well imagine Guy as a typically sexist Englishman who prefers to go to the pub with his mates than romacing his missus. Englishmen are not exactly renouned for their sexual prowess or for actually 'liking' women.

I've dealt with one but certainly would not ever, ever again! American men are far more respectful of women and are far more attentive in the sack. At the end of the day all a woman wants is a bit of TLC.

Just why is mostly everyone on the side of Guy? What had he contributed to the relationship besides Rocco? He didn't work in those 8 years, enjoyed the fame he was getting from Madonna, and now he will probably have a smash hit movie because he was married to her. Madonna has given the best years of her sex appeal and womanhood to her family and husbands. Rude people comment about her figure: yes she is getting older and not so eay for women. For men, they can continue to hunt around for relationships and sex for many, many years. Madonna has given musical entertainment to millions for decades - please just grace her with that. Why do people usually attack the female in a relationship? I can only think it is male ignorange and arrrogance.

I honestly believe a woman so hooked on herself 24/7 should live on her own, and I'm pleased for Guy.

For her, Guy was just an extended Madonna advertising campaign, she does not seem to realise most Brits are sick of the sight of her. Good riddance.

Like Guy I was in the same boat. I have lost my home my kids and my job BUT what I havent lost is the LOVE for my two kids. Am trying to get my life back on track and like Guy I will.
