WE always knew James Corden was full of cheek - but see how this behind- the-scenes shot from the new Gavin & Stacey series grabs you.

The chubby actor, who plays Smithy, is caught giving co-star Rob Brydon a sneaky squeeze you won't be seeing when the show returns to BBC1 on Thursday night.

There's also no sign of Smithy's pal Gavin (Mathew Horne) as this third and final series gets under way.

He's settling down to married life with Stacey in Wales - leaving Smithy to cope with his new role as a dad back home in Essex. But the BBC comedy's millions of fans will not be surprised to hear there are shocks in store.

"They're definitely going out with a bang," said an insider.
