The Carry On legend announced her shock decision this week to quit EastEnders after 15 years playing Mitchell matriarch Peggy.
Now Barbara, 72, has revealed she is keen to tread the boards again - back on the London stage where she made her debut at 13. "I do miss theatre," she said. "I did Entertaining Mr Sloane and I did Guys and Dolls. I'd like to feel I could do theatre one more time.
"I reckon I've got one more pantomime in me!"
And she dismissed any talk of RETIRING now she is standing down as queen of Albert Square. She may even pursue an earlier plan to become an agent.
Barbara - who stars alongside Hollywood heart- throb Johnny Depp in Tim Burton's forthcoming movie Alice In Wonderland - added: "I love this business. And I'm so enthusiastic. It's always as if it's my first day."
The star yesterday denied she was leaving the show because of a row with television bosses.
The actress said she was "upset" by speculation that an argument with BBC bosses or a row over money was behind her decision to quit, sparked by a comment by her EastEnders co-star Larry Lamb that something had "really upset" her.
Barbara said: "I am upset at suggestions made that I have chosen to leave EastEnders because of money, changes that are being made to the show or a supposed 'bust up with producers' as there is absolutely no truth in them."

As much as I like Barbara, it's time she did move on. I've read comments in the past stating that Barbara Windsor or Wendy Richards "IS EastEnders" and it makes me really laugh as they end(ed) up actually believing it themselves. No actor is bigger than their particular show, no matter how old or nice they are. Everyone is dispensable.
I wish Barbara luck and happiness in her next venture.

What a pity. She is the only one in the cat with a serious role surriunded by crooks, cheats, scheming individuals, even the children are crooks. Bed swapping, homosexuals, liars, bitchy women. You name it they ae all there in East Enders. It has become a hive of corrupt individuals. IT IS TIME WE HAD AT LEAST ONE DECENT PERSON AND A BIT OF FUN AND HAPPINESS IN THE COMMUNITY.
YOU CA NOF COURSE CALL IT SEX ENDERS WITH SO MANY WOMEN CHASING ANY MAN THEY CAN FIND THERE.
TIME FOR CHANGE AND AM SURE BABS CAN COME BACK.
