x factor makes me cringe--kids that have "wanted this all their lives" . Anything except having to do a proper job.
Strictly is entertaining at least. Still, 50k a celeb and half a mill for Brucie makes you wonder if your licence fee is a joke.

I love Strictly and never watch the X factor but on the first show Arlene was sorely missed. Aliesha Dixon looked totally out of place,had nothing to contribute and should be put out of her misery by being sacked now!

The BBC had no right to play games with the viewers, we pay their wages. Luckily it didn't pay off which will teach them next time.
I will not be bullied into watching the BBC. In fact i wish it could be disbanded, i'm sick of paying through the nose for a channel i hardly watch. I'd like to choose my own entertainment.
Simon was right in all he said, we should be able to watch both after all we are paying the money.
When will they get it into their thick skulls, they are a PUBLIC broadcaster not a private one.
It's full of left wing bias/ageism and propaganda these days so they have no right to our money.

Whilst Alesha is not a very good judge on SCD she is much better looking than Cheryl . Alesha is naturally beautiful but Cheryl looks false and bet nobody would recognise her without her ton of make up on.

Alesha was a great contestant and has been put in an impossible position by the BBC. Who can blame her for accepting the great opportunity the Beeb gave her. She is just out of her depth but is been given a very hard time.
But please bring back Arlene or if Arlene won't come back, bring back Karen Hardy as a judge please.

the show needs arlene and len,the 4 existing judges worked well off each other ,and knew wot they were talking about.alesha seems lovely ,but shes out of her depth here,i watched it twice to give it a go , but i think im deserting to x factor

Aleisha Dixon has a nice personality but she hasn't a clue in her role as a judge on Strictly and should bow out discreetly before she makes an even bigger fool of herself. The BBC should reinstate
Arlene with haste!!!

if we are supposed to take this program seriously,
then it has failed miserably, it has cheapened the
skilled input of qualified judges by introducing who can be classed as no more than a bimbo.in an attempt to bring some young glamour to the panel,
alesha, bless her naive'ty, should see what is happening and resign before she becomes a laughing stock, if she continues it could wreck her singing career. 'she is the whipping boy' in this scenario, for tv ratings. nothing more.

Whilst Alesha is very attractive, her input as a judge is negative. Bring back Arlene who has a depth of knowledge of dancing and will help the celebrities improve their moves and confidence.

strictly is so boring one faceless celeb after another trotting out in rubbish outfits and bad hairdos with not much dancing skill - i could just go down the local dance classes in the community centre if i wanted to watch that.

Strictly should never have axed Arlene. Why on earth did they get Alesha to be a judge?. She seems like a lovely girl but has no expertise in dancing moves etc. Why didn't they get a judge who knows about dancing.

ALESHA DIXON IS PANTS SHE HAD NO SERIOUS VIEWS ABOUT THE DANCERS AND SAT THERE LIKE A LUMP OF WOOD. SHE WAITED FOR THE VIEWS OF THE REST OF THE PANEL BEFORE SHE COULD MUSTER UP ANYTHING THAT RESEMBLED A VIEW ON THE DANCERS. some people just love putting others down,Alesha knows how the other celebs are feeling as she was one of them in 07,she is a brill dancer and so good to look at and more important not makeing rude remarks to the dancers,like our so called pro judges

When the BBC axed Arlene Philips, I was disgusted.She was obviously axed because of her age which was a disgrace, and if they thought bringing in someone like Alesha Dixon was going to do wonders for their show they are sadly mistaken. She was absolute rubbish. Just because she won 2 years ago doesn't mean she knows anything about judging dancers, which was proved last night. If she remains on the panel, I'm afraid the ratings will go down. It is time the BBC admitted the've goofed and bring back Arlene. Everyone looked forward to her comments as she knew what she was talking about. Alesha - ratings- a waste of space, and a let down to what was always a great programme.

OMG, get Alesha Dixon out of there, what are they thinking, have the producers not heard of the saying "if it's not broken don't fix it", I'm sure that Alesha is a lovely person but the job is way out of her league I think the BBC now need to go and ask Arlene to come back, before it's too late.

I saw Arelene many times when she was in hot gossip and seen shows which she has had a hand in what has Alesha got to show she is lovely to look at but an air head her voice isnt that great her dancing she won but we have seen better when she done the christmas scd show she forgot alot of what she was thought she has to go sorry its time for bruce also Vernon Kay or Aton should replace him

I like both shows but to me Strictly is all about watching the dancers improve every week,winning the show once does not make Aleisha an expert.

Alesha was dreadful. She has not enough knowledge or expertise regarding dancing. Pleas bring back Arlene. At she knew what she was talking about. Its not fair to the contestants to have an amateur like Alesha judging them. Her comments were empty!

Always loved Strictly and went to live show at O2 but if Alesha stays never again. She was just appalling and giving safe answers that anyone could have given, she has no technical ability like Arlene has and is completely out of her depth with the other judges who all know their stuff. Just because she won a series doesnt mean she can compare with the years of experience the other judges have and certainly not Arlene who taught dance groups for years. It is a monumental mistake not having her on the show. ADMIT FAILURE AND BRING HER BACK!

x factor every time alesha was rubbish her comments were useless and of no help the only decent comments were repeats of what len said i know people who have got to train and pass exams for years to be qualified to teach and give advice it was a slow boring programme headed by bruce forsythe its timehe went other people are pensioned off at 65 his jokes are pathetic do the presenters think we enjoy him well we dont ,its not fair to the contestants who put a lot of effort into they need constucted advice ,looks like the ones who do vote are going for another john seargent type of voting give me x factor every time

Strictly every time. This isnt the first time that both programmes have clashed. A few years ago they overlapped so they are making a big mountain out of a molehill. Besides who is going to sit infront of the tv for 3-4hrs straight to be able to watch both shows even if they didnt clash? Ever heard of a video recorder or watching it later online?

Come on give Alesha a chance, we all have to start from somewhere and in given time her experience will grow, it not rocket science to comment on contestant who doesn’t dance well it how it is worded , it is so easy to judge sitting on our sofas, just stop and put yourself in Alesha’s shoes, how is someone meant to learn & Arlene must have been given the kick for reason, Strictly has bridged the gap opening the doors for younger up and coming people- Strictly is full of old biddy judges who are set in their ways, Shake the show up a bit BBC, Bring in verity and Colour I say. I can remember the same fiasco with the girl in Doctor Who, it will soon die off, Keep it UP UP UP Alesha you did well, The majority of the people who voted you to win Strictly last year now want to see you fail, people only want to see you so far if your face fits, and yours does. Don’t worry Alesha the BBC will not loose the viewing in fact they will gain more. People just do not like change.

Strictly Dancing is fantastic!!! X factor is not!! Only thing spoiling Strictly for me this year so far is Alesha Dixon, she made the same comment to every couple competing-well done for trying!! Bring back Arlene she is an amazing woman for her age, full of life and really brings the dancers to life with good criticism, and yet strict at the same time!! And thats what makes it strictly! Bring back Karen Hardy, she just lights up the room with her enthusiasm. If anything needs changing it she be Bruce for Vernon.

When it comes to TV enjoyment it’s strictly the X Factor for me. There is more human interest in Simon Cowell's baggy T-shirt that all the prissy hand sown sequins and the contrived poncy leg movements of the Come-dancers.
The X Factor's production standard of camerawork, lighting and video editing is top notch. And surely Cheryl Cole must one of the most beautiful women on TV today
Much prefer Simon’s honesty tinged with kindness and humility then all that the old glib insincerity of craggy Octogenarian Forsythe. The trouble is Strictly Come Dancing lacks the X Factor!

I watched the first 30 minutes of Strictly (nearly decided to watch the last 30 minutes of a film on ITV2 to fill the time) then switched over at 8pm to watch the X Factor. I would have watched both but X Factor wins every time.

Strictly all the way...X factor has run its course now and the winner is picked way b4 the end of the series.

X factor isnt really about 'oridinary' people off the street as we always find out that the contestants that get through nearer the end have either been in a band, or know someone from a band etc etc, or they have some sob story'

The bbc should never have got rid of Arlene though, I like Alesha but she doesnt seem a very good judge, but its early days I suppose.
