Hollywood model Christy, 22, was devastated, especially when randy Russ - who hosts tonight's MTV Video Music Awards - insisted on giving her a blow-by-blow account of the orgy.

She revealed to a friend: "Russell told me he loved me but he needed to have other women to remain sane.

"He said it was a chemical imbalance in his brain - it was like a handicapped person needing a wheelchair."

At least thoughtful lust addict Russ had the decency to WARN Christy his filthy cravings were making a comeback. She told her friend: "Russell gave me three options - leave, join in or turn a blind eye. Stupidly I went for No 3, which pretty much doomed our relationship. One Sunday he dragged me up to the bedroom, grabbed my arm and said, 'I'm having an urge.' I panicked and he said, 'Christy, please join me with the other girls.' But I just couldn't do that.

"We'd been having a lovely day. His mum was over from England, which made it even worse. I tried to talk him out of his dirty plan by suggesting we join some friends for a game of football."

At first 34-year-old Russell agreed but his mind soon flitted back to games of a different nature.

Christy told her pal: "We were getting in the car and he just bolted, saying, 'I'm sorry Christy, I have to go. Please just go shopping with my mum!' I then endured the worst day of my life. I just broke down and sobbed. Inside I was dying."

So Christy trailed round the malls of Los Angeles with Russell's 62-year-old mother Barbara, while the movie star stayed in his mansion entertaining a groupie AND a pole dancer. When Christy got back she ran to the bedroom and was shocked at the scene.

"Russell hadn't even bothered to make the bed," she told the friend. "There was women's underwear and condoms littering the floor. He once told me he got through 80 extra-large condoms a month, but as far as I could see he'd get by fine with the normal sort."

Russell, who talked of his booze and drug addictions in his autobiography My Booky Wook, believes honesty is a vital part of recovery. So he then told his girlfriend every juicy detail of the three-way romp.

"He said one of the girls had given him oral sex while the other performed a sex act on the first girl," said Christy. "I couldn't believe it. I crumpled on the bathroom floor sobbing and screaming, 'No! No! No!'

"At first he tried to console me, but then he got really angry and said, 'When you're unhappy, Christy, that makes ME unhappy - and I haven't got time to be unhappy!' "

Things were a lot happier when Christy first met Russell on the set of his new movie Get Him To The Greek where she was an extra. She told her buddy: "From the minute he clapped eyes on me he began flirting outrageously. And when we finished filming he demanded my phone number. Within half an hour he was sending me text after text with gushing compliments. One said, 'Let me be your knight in shining armour.'

"He pursued me relentlessly for a fortnight until I caved in and went round to his place. When Russell saw me he gasped, 'Oh my God, you're so beautiful! Christy, please tell me you'll have my babies!'

"I'm sure he says things like that all the time, but I won't lie - he bowled me over with his charm.

"We started to play pool and while I was bending over the table we really began to flirt - we didn't even finish the game before he led me up to his bedroom. It was the most pristine room I'd ever been in, nothing was out of place.

"And he had about TWENTY copies of his autobiography on the shelf. How vain is that?"

MOTHER'S PRIDE: But even with Mum Barbara as a guest Russ misbehaved

Russell's room also boasted a massive wardrobe which Christy later found out was packed with sex toys.

"I almost died one day when he beckoned me to the wardrobe and pulled out a bulging carrier bag," she told her friend. "He told me to look inside and pulled out a load of sex toys. Some of them were so strange-looking, I had no idea what they even did. When I'd stopped laughing, I told him there was no way on earth he'd be using them on me. He called me a spoilsport."

But on that first visit Essex boy Russell was excited enough by the thought of straightforward sex with Christy, and he lured her over to his super king-size bed.

Christy recalled: "I ran and jumped on the bed and said, 'Wow, it's bouncy!' For some reason that really made him howl with laughter.

"I think he knew I wanted to have sex with him as much as he did with me. And I just knew we were going to be so much more than lovers.

"We made love again and again all night, at least four times. It wasn't dirty sex, it was very romantic lovemaking. Russell could just keep going and going. I should have known then he might be an addict.

"The warning signs were there. He even offered me a spare set of freshly-laundered women's underwear that he kept in his room! I ought to have realised then he probably wasn't going to be the most faithful guy in the world." For the next three months, the relationship blossomed. "I loved him with all my heart and he told me he loved me too," Christy told her friend. "We were blissfully happy.

"He treated me like a princess. From the moment I first arrived I barely went home. Within days he was introducing me as his girlfriend.

"I'd arrived that first day with only the clothes on my back, so Russell took me shopping. I felt like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman. Russell was just clicking his fingers at shop assistants and saying, 'Bring this gorgeous woman more dresses!'

"He wanted me with him 24 hours a day and when I said I had to work he'd become distraught. I really believe Russell thought I was the woman who was going to save him from his demons. But although he didn't want to hurt me, he can't control it. He's replaced his heroin addiction with an addiction for strippers and prostitutes.

"It was three months into the relationship when he explained it. I was in bed when he opened his laptop, put on a porn film and started pleasuring himself like I wasn't even in the room. Then he said, 'I thought being with you had cured it, but I'm having urges to have sex with other women again."

Russell then confessed he had NEVER gone longer than three months of faithfulness - and admitted he had started sleeping with "a handful" of other girls.

Christy said: "Russell even told me he enjoyed pretty girls like me as girlfriends, but for dirty sex the uglier the better.

"I couldn't believe it. That was when he gave me the three options and I chose wrong. I still stupidly thought I could cure him and we agreed that whenever he was having an urge he'd tell me. He said he'd recovered from heroin but he wasn't ready to give this up yet.

"As ever, it was all about HIM. This is a man who Googled himself every night before going to sleep."

In July Christy realised she could never make Russell change his sex-crazed ways and left.

She said: "Russell's such a great person in so many ways, but until he beats his sex addiction he's going to break the heart of every woman he falls in love with."

I think everyone should leave his talent out of this, it has nothing to do with his sex life. However I will say this - his sex life prob interferes with the real Russell we all want to see. He can only choose to jeopardise his career by not giving it the potential that it deserves (women being his distraction) but addiction is also an illness. If your inclined to think "all or nothing" it's a very difficult thing to change.... especially as sex is part of nature.

He also talks a lot about sex in his jokes … and I see the seriousness of it in his expressions. On the other hand when he’s smiling and perky and focused on joy and happiness talking about things I think it really lights up the audience and everyone is all smiley and perky back!

Until recently I was Russells NO 1 fan. Now I see him as a sad and exxxxtremely boring man/child. A pity really as I thought he had real talent earlier on. People wouldn't condeme him for not going out if he was agoraphobic and would sympathise with him if he had OCD. I used to be absolutely in love with Russell Brand, but in the past eight months since I seen his stand up I have gone completely off him. After reading this I don't even think he is a nice person. I can see entirely what women see in Russ. He is sexy in a quirky way, confident and makes you laugh.... oh and incredibly rich. On paper a real catch.... however he obviously loves doing what hes doing and fair play if hes safe just keep doing it. I rekon unfortunately though you do get addicted to the buzz and ease of one night stands. If he truely wants to settle down one day the more he does it the harder it will be as long term relationships aren't alll like that initial buzz they are hard work.
If he is happy then thats fine. Any women entering a relationship for a long term with him needs her head read and should expect to be heart broken.

Although I don't fancy him, I can certainly see what women (and men) see in him. I have always wanted a brother and if I could choose one, he would definitely be it.

On the surface he appears like he doesn't give a toss about women, but in my opinion the fact that he is so honest with them may mean that he does. I love how he really cares about the women who are permanent fixtures in his life, in particular his Mum who he has a fantastic relationship with.

If the girl wants to sell her story and join the rest of them who have 'poured out their hearts' (not to mention their knickers), then how does she expext to be the one who tames him.

My friend and I had the experience of a 3some with Russell, we knew the score, he didnt pretend to want anything other than what it was and it is not something that I regret. I effing hope the awards go well, and he doesn't get that slightly aggressive tone he got last time he was comparing this gig.

I like it better when he's exuding at least *some* degree of warmth whilst telling jokes- that's his one attribute that got me into him in the first place.

Does anybody else feel my pain?
