ON-OFF celeb couple Kerry Katona and Mark Croft are having a secret make-or-break weekend in the Lake District - in yet another "last-ditch" bid to save their marriage.

A week after declaring he wanted a divorce, Mark was spotted chatting and laughing with his wife before they headed to Cumbria.

A close friend told us: "Mark just told everyone he was going away for the weekend with a pal - he didn't want anyone to know it was Kerry.

"They wanted to spend some time together without the kids and out of the public eye to figure out where their relationship was going."

Meanwhile Kerry, 28 - dubbed a lard-a*** by Mark after their latest split - told pals she wanted him back because he's FUNNY.

The mum-of-four declared: "I know he's wrong for me in so many ways but he makes me laugh and that's all that matters."

A pal said: "Kerry is fundamentally weak. She'll always find a reason to go back to Mark.

"She kept saying how great they were together because they could always joke around and make each other laugh."

Last Thursday Kerry headed to the flat where Mark, 38, bolted after their split. Soon afterwards they emerged together and headed to the Lake District.

Ironically, the warring couple's latest rift began on their last "romantic" holiday - in Magaluf, Majorca, in June.

Strippers

Today we can reveal the full extent of those shameful capers that torpedoed their relationship.

Croft befriended local bar owner Lee Poole then spent his waking hours boozing and cavorting with strippers.

Meanwhile Kerry's binge-drinking got so out of control that she knocked back nearly TWENTY potent Jgermeister shots in just one night. The bar owner's distraught girlfriend, Kathryn Gilson, told the News of the World that Croft had encouraged her fella - a gentle teetotal family man - to behave like a drunken lairy slob.

She said: "From the moment Mark met Lee, my life was turned upside down and ruined."

It was a text message from dad-of- two Poole, 32, to Croft that resulted in Kerry kicking him out of their house in Wilmslow, Cheshire, two weeks ago.

Poole was warning him that Kathryn had found out about their antics with the strippers - and when Kerry discovered the message, she went ballistic.

Ex-Atomic Kitten Kerry and Croft were customers at Lee's bar the G Spot, which opened in May. Kathryn recalled: "I was at home with the kids when Lee texted me to say, 'Guess what - Kerry Katona's in the bar with her hubby.'

"But when I woke up at seven the next morning, Lee wasn't home. At 11am he called to say, 'Come and get me.' He was off his head with booze with Mark, who'd passed out on a bench near the beach.

"Kerry had left them to it at 4am and returned to the hotel. But when I got there to pick up Lee, she arrived and poured a bottle of water over Mark.

"I've never seen anyone as angry as Kerry. She was in a storming rage. Mark followed her off, meekly and drunkenly, like a naughty little boy."

But that was just the start of a four- day booze binge for Croft and Poole. They became so close they even discussed becoming business partners.

One night they had an after-hours drinking session where they cavorted with three strippers.

A fellow holidaymaker said: "We saw Mark out a couple of times. He was really loud and yelling, 'Who's the daddy?'

"On the second night he told us Kerry was 'f***ed' and had gone back to the hotel. He then started doing impressions of her. It was really cruel." Another time, lonely Kerry was snapped flirting with men on a stag weekend.

Kathryn, 31, said of her: "When we went out she seemed a decent girl - though she likes a drink.

"One night I reckon she knocked back nearly 20 Jger shots, which was amazing. I've never seen anyone do that."

After Kerry and Mark returned to Britain, Kathryn found out about the strippers and confronted Poole.

She said: "Mark went around acting like a lout, always trying to pull any woman who'd give him a second look. He got Lee completely under his spell.

"Lee's gone from being a thoughtful, caring partner who rarely had a drink, to someone who closes the bar at 3am and stays out until the following lunchtime, before coming home drunk and crashing out."

Kerry, who has ballooned from a size 8 to 14 after liposuction earlier this year, threw out Croft a fortnight ago.

Then he served her with legal papers demanding a divorce because her behaviour meant he "cannot reasonably be expected to live with her".

Missing

We revealed last Sunday how he told pals: "She's turned into a lard-a***. I'm not going to bed with that." Then last week the couple had a blazing row over a money mix-up.

Mark, who deals with the couple's finances, usually gets half of Kerry's earnings as he is her driver.

In March this year she threw him out over a money row and said she wanted a divorce - but took him back. In summer 2007 she dumped him over claims he had been cheating. They have raked in a fortune from living out their turbulent relationship in the public eye.

This time, he said he wanted £6,000 from a photoshoot - so she assumed she'd earned £12,000. When she went through the paperwork and realised it was £30k, she thought £18k had gone missing.

She screamed at Mark, demanding to know where it was. A pal said: "Mark hadn't taken the money or anything but I've never seen her that mad.

"It was a week from hell for them - even worse than the previous week. They both need a break but whether having one together is a good idea only time will tell."

The sympathy split story are all wearing very thin now Kerry, it wasnt so long ago you were crying you couldnt even afford pint of milk, this is the 3rd ..4th holiday this year ? and withuot the kids, if it was a average joe leaving the kids social services would be called but cos it is a z-list celeb it is ok ?

Kerry , The most appropriate way forward would be a life coach someone with integrity who you can trust and will not spill all to the tabloids .Stop the drink take time out from the public gaze and heal yourself We are all insecure but I swear by the 4 month rule , you will be over him by then .Less is more duck out of the limelight improve your health he is clearly expoloiting your fragility and vunerability .Take Care

Kerry will not realise what Mark is like until all her money is gone, because as soon as the money runs out so will Mark. She has turned her life into a Crash scene with the help of Mark. I urge you all the do what I have done and write into Iceland via their website and tell them to remove Kerry from their Advertisments as she is a Disgrace as a Mother and is Damaging their brand.

Kerry wake up and smell the coffee, it's all about money with Mark [appropriate name] and you are going to regret so much in years to come missing so much of your childrens early years, you can never get them back, sort yourself out it is never too late, don't repeat in another kind of way what your upbringing was like, the children come first, always you are the adult and you need to grow up, i think deep down you are a good person but actions speak louder than words so try and take control as a mother !

Start to think of the negatives and not the positives of being with him and you wil soon realise he is not right for you. I have just walked away from a relationship where he made me laugh but the negatives outweighed the positives ten times over and I am now far happier. Good luck.

Start by leaving Mark croft, get your health and fitness back to normal and even ask Brian for help in getting your life back on track, i bet you wont need any medications at the end of it.

Kerry why bother with him ,if making you laugh is all the reason there is for being with him then youll never be 100% happy and find out what being in a GENUINE relationship is all about.Im not perfect and hey aint the best looking either and have a few pounds round my guts,but ive worked hard all my life,own my own car bought n paid for, 2 years old,have a great sense of humour,well respected with friends and work colleagues,hardly drink,my only sin is smoking ,but even tht is only 10 a day,then again why put all this it seems all your intrested in is the BADBOY kinda guy,(which aint me)shame really because in the real world i reckon you could be someone very special,just hope you realise this before its to late xxx find someone who wants you for you please!! you deserve it babe xx
