Tina O'Brien's coming back to Coronation Street

CORRIE bosses are lining up stunning Tina O'Brien for a sensational return to the Street.

We can reveal that the actress could be back on the soap's set in time to film a steamy Christmas storyline with real-life lover Ryan Thomas.

Tina - who left the soap after 11 years as Sarah-Louise Platt - is poised to sign a lucrative deal which would see her return to filming in late autumn, just two years after she quit.

The 25-year-old star has already turned down a string of roles - including a huge offer to join I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

Last night a Coronation Street insider revealed: "It's the talk of the set. There's a real buzz about the place now that it looks like Tina is returning."

Tina's last appearance in the ITV soap saw her character leave hubby Jason (played by Ryan) for a new life in Italy.

The actress planned to put her feet up for a while before taking on new roles.

But she became pregnant and gave birth to daughter Scarlett in October last year.

Now with the tot fast-approaching her first birthday, the actress has told pals she's ready to get back to work - with Corrie being her top option.

A friend of the couple revealed: "Tina will have devoted a year to little Scarlett when the time arrives that ITV are talking about getting her back on board.

"She had a big money offer to go on I'm A Celeb . . . but turned it down because she didn't want to leave her girl.

"She's 90 per cent certain she wants to go back in but wants to be completely sure before she commits herself."

And her arrival back in Weatherfield will set up a sizzling encounter with builder Jason, who has been getting over Sarah's absence by enjoying a string of affairs - including pinching the girlfriend of Sarah's brother David.

Agree totally with Jo, Leeds.
Tina O'Brien can't act and she's only coming back because every other producer and directot realised that.
Shame the Producers of Corrie can't write out the Websters and the Platts, none of whom can act either. Their storylines are getting silly.

Corrie is the best soap on tv, i agree with the lizzie whoever wrote liam out needs there head testing he was drop dead gorgeous some good news tho keith duffy is coming back to corrie i know this as i'm a massive boyzone fan, decent eye candy at last hehe!

I cant believe all the negative comments,I have watched Coronation Street since I was little, my nan 1st introduced me 35 years ago.I watch in Australia,and i absolutely love the show even though we are a year or so behind I get updates on the net,and I loved Sarah and Jason together and really hope she returns.

Whoever wrote Liam and Connor out needed their heads read and bring back Keith Duffy, why did you write him out? Stupid and madness.
Oh and for the love of Pete, please STOP that ridiculously stupid storyline with Molly and Kevin, it just would NOT happen and sorry but Molly is over acting and the way she looks at Kevin would send him running for the hills not the bedroom - bunny boiler or what? Please do not make us ill with bedroom scenes, we have enough with swine flu to contend with.
And please do not mess up another Becky and Steve wedding, the last one was cringe making and totally unbelievable. Becky and Steve are great, but another messed wedding is NOT great. Can't we have one happy marriage with many great story lines for Becks and Steve as landlady and landlord, they are rich pickings. Sack Liz and allow for natural progression in the Rovers. Happy marriages do happen. I vote Becky and Steve to be the next Jack and Vera - funny and natural and please no more silly court scenes with vindictive policemen, it just doesn't happen!

Sick of stars COMING back, leave Jason to work on his own.. hes been much more fun since you left..and i like him with Tina. Bring in new faces instead. Platts get on my nerves at the best of times

I love Corrie don't get me wrong, but i cheered when Tina O'brien left. So actors leave and just think they can come back pick where they left off. They don't get work any where and just come back with their tail between their legs. It shouldn't be allowed

really liked sarah until she slept with jason... that was like 5 years ago since then all her storylines have revolved around jason...
i like jason and tina together... but niether ryan thomas or tina obrien can act they just happen to be good looking.
Plus sarah always seemed a little girl that never grew up!!! Hardly a challenge to play her is it... there are plenty of mums that look after their kids for more then a year!!!
and what a shock that adam thomas (ryans brother) got a role in emmerdale!!! He's another one who is good looking but can't act to save his life!!!
Maybe Corrie shouldn't be obbessed with sarah and the boring david platt!! He's in every majour storyline... not a patch on terry duckworth

Get rid of chesney, jason, david and don't bring back sarah!!! Tina is alot hotter so keep her and bring back tracey barlow and jim and karen mcdonald permentenly.

There are just a few actors/actresses that make it once they leave a soap. Tina O'brien is not a good actress otherwise she would not be coming back, and as for getting a part in "I'm a Celebrity" thats for "has beens" that say's it all, if that is all she has been offered. As for corrie some of the storylines are stupid, Kevin and Vicky. Fiz and john. and that bloody irritating relative of Devs in the shop.

Eastenders is going from bad to worse yet again, too many miserable storylines and agressive violence. Coronation Street will be 50 years old very soon and yes it has changed over the years and in response to changing lifestyles and the ratings war. Emmerdale has changed dramatically but has the same atmosphere that it had years ago, the plane crash story was dramatic and ill-timed but had depth and drama. Long live and I agree bring back Sarah-Louise Platt she was realistic to the North.

i agree Pablo, Corrie's trying too hard to be a mark two Eastenders,instead of the warm and cosy soap,awash with great characters that you cared about, it is now a world away from,ena,minnie,elsie, and mrs walker and of course,dynamic duo, stan and hilda ogdeon

I was glad when she left and the thought of her coming back is one big turn off. She is a ham actress and if anyone could be brought back it should be the fantastic Suranne Jones who is in a league of her own, i doubt Corrie could afford her now, and one that Tina could never match.

YET ANOTHER WOODEN SOAP ACTRESS WHO LEFT " TO REST " FOR A WHILE BEFORE TAKING ON THE MAINY ROLES SHE THOUGHT SHE'D BE OFFERED.

ONLY DIFFERENCE HERE IS SHE DIDN'T MAKE A FLOP POP RECORD BEFORE REALISING SHE WOULD NOT BE OFFERED THE ROLES SHE ENVISAGED WHEN SHE LEFT CORRIE.

Wow she is giving up the HUGE offers of work to return to the soap, thought she was going to be a huge star when she quit the street shows how deluded they are thinking they are big actors, if she comes back to Corrie i will be switching off, Stopped watching EE 4 yrs ago as it went downhill stopped watching emmerdale as it too is tedious, same rehashed storylines, and Corrie is going the same way, Why not bring back another actress to play Sarah Lou preferably one who can act Tina O'brien is as wooden as the planks Jason Grimshaw carries around.
