Comics won't say Yes to new series

LITTLE Britain's future hangs in the balance after David Walliams and Matt Lucas have put off making a new series.

The duo have ruled out filming more episodes of the cult comedy in the near future as they move on to other projects.

We can reveal Matt, 35, and David, 37, are working on TWO new comedy series for the Beeb. But Little Britain fans hopes for a new series - four years since the last one - will have to be put on hold.

A source close to the pair said: "David and Matt feel the Little Britain format could be a little bit old now.

"They are now keen to concentrate on solo projects and then work on different TV ideas together.

Bombed

"They're not sure if, or when, they will bring back Little Britain. And no new series has been commissioned."

Their American version of the show bombed last year.

A friend close to the Walliams said: "David loves working with Matt but he's ready to do new things and put Little Britain on the back burner.

"He's been wanting to move on since the end of series two in 2004. David and Matt have spent the past six months concentrating on solo projects. Matt has been filming Tim Burton's Alice In Wonderland alongside Johnny Depp playing Tweedledee and Tweedledum.

David has been concentrating on writing a series of children's books.

A spokesman for the BBC told us: "We are talking to Matt and David about some new ideas and also the future of Little Britain."

An insider added: "This is not Little Britain being axed. This is just the fact that there is a big question mark over its future."

I think Little Britain USA was amazing. If you are a true LB fan, you would love it no matter. :)

It doesn't matter whether they make more little Britain, or not. Whatever they do will be funny. And the show wasn't a flop in America as they are doing another series there.

They have done all they can do with a set of characters who are no longer funny. The American version pf LB was a total disaster. Worse even than Horne and Corden.
