Susan Boyle to earn £8k a minute at private gigs

Susan Boyle for hire .. at £8k a minute!

That's £140 for every second..which is £10 more than she used to live on for a week

Image Flag

FRAGILE Susan Boyle can stop claiming £130 a week in benefits-she's charging £8,000 A MINUTE to perform live.

Subo, who has pulled out of tonight's Britain's Got Talent tour gig in Manchester, is being booked by corporate clients for £100,000 per 12-minute set.

That's £8,333 a MINUTE. Or it's £140 a SECOND-£10 more than the £129.64 a WEEK the singer lives on.

But her ability to cope with the showbiz life was thrown into further doubt last night when she had a wobble after the Sheffield concert.

Ovation

She stumbled over some of the words for Memory and, despite getting a standing ovation, decided to head back home to Scotland today, missing tonight's Manchester show. BGT tour organisers were confident she would perform in Glasgow tomorrow.

Her corporate bookings will quickly add to the £8million fortune SuBo will amass after signing a recording contract with show boss Simon Cowell.

They come after her comeback on the Britain's Got Talent tour in Birmingham on Friday night, following her spell in rehab being treated for stress brought on by her fame.A source close to the singer, who was runner-up on the show, revealed: "She's the biggest star to have come out of Britain's Got Talent, so her price to sing reflects that.

"These fees mean it will take ten dates for her to make a million pounds, which is unprecedented for a talent show winner." Unmarried Susan, 48, has yet to earn a penny from the show, despite becoming famous around the world.

But that is all about to change. Our BGT insider said: "Now we can start making her some serious money. We have to do it soon to capitalise on the huge interest in her, especially in America."

Susan's bookings are being handled by Andrew Pountain of Industry Music Group. They have been hired exclusively to book out all the BGT finalists outside the tour.

The firm made thousands for last year's BGT winner George Sampson by booking him for corporate gigs. We saw an email between Pountain and one corporate client inquiring about booking Susan to perform three four- minute songs at an event in August. He replied the fee would be "100k plus VAT."

Susan rents her council house and has told her family she wants to buy it and give the rest of her pending fortune to relatives.

Meltdown

On her current rate, just one performance would give her more than enough to buy the £80,000 house.

We can reveal Susan found the strength to make her first live performance since her meltdown from her late mother's wedding ring. She wears the memento of mum Bridget on a necklace. Her brother John, 59, told us: "My mum cared for Susan and helped her become the talent she is."

MY FUR LADY: Pebbles and Susan
null

Even the cat gets a pussport

By James Desborough

SUSAN has arranged the purrfect gift for herself-a passport for her CAT.

The home-loving singer is nervous about a proposed tour to the US later this year.

She has told record label bosses she would be more comfortable with her beloved pet Pebbles by her side.

So she has asked them to organise an ID card for the cat.

Susan, who is a sensation in the States, pined for Pebbles when she stayed in The Priory to recover after Britain's Got Talent finished.

According to reports she missed Pebbles so much she phoned to speak to her.

The cat would travel under the PETS (Pet Travel Scheme) which allows passage without quarantine.

A source at Simon Cowell's company Syco said: "Susan is very attached to Pebbles. She missed her when she was in The Priory and couldn't wait to be reunited with her. Pebbles really is like family to Susan. They are very close.

"Susan is excited about her career and quite excited about going over to America but there is one condition- that Pebbles goes too."

The source added: "Simon feels very protective over Susan. Her happiness is of the utmost priority to him."

Tour will be 'last straw'

By Jennifer Wiley

BRITAIN'S Got Talent tour host Stephen Mulhern is terrified Susan Boyle will crack before the end of the 26-show run.

Despite her triumphant comeback at the opening performance on Friday he fears the pressure and stress will overwhelm her.

He said: "I'm worried she won't make it to the end."

In the same shimmery grey she wore in the BGT fibnal final last month, Susan stunned a 5,000-strong audience in Birmingham with flawless renditions of her hits I Dreamed A Dream from Les Miserables and Memory from Cats.

Stephen, 29, said: "She did great-an amazing comeback and the audience loved it. But I honestly didn't know if she was going to go on stage, right until the last minute.

"I was worried I would say her name, turn around and not see her there. I had some ad-libs ready."

And Stephen, who fronted Britain's Got More Talent on ITV2, fears every show will be the same.

An insider says the other stars were warned Susan will not be allowed to perform every time.

He said: "There are at least three shows she won't perform in. It's to do with the level of stress she can handle."

The source said the other performers feel they are "walking on eggshells" around her as they never know when she will have one of her tantrums.

Susan, who spent five days in the Priory after coming second in the final, is now constantly flanked by two minders.

After Friday's show, when one fan got close and asked how it went, Susan replied: "It was good, it was good."

When the female minder whispered in Susan's ear she shut up and spluttered: "Oh right, I don't want to upset anyone."

Stephen is also worried about singer Hollie Steel, 10, who burst into tears in the semi-finals. He said: "I was scared she would cry again on Friday. But she preformed brilliantly."

Where's the update that Susan sang in 20 shows in the BGT tour and performed brilliantly, receiving standing O after standing O, interacting with her audiences and blowing the roof off of every venue! And how about an update on her recording her album in London and going to Scotland for a photo shoot for her album cover and that she's going to have a spread in Harper's Bazaar? You go on, Susan! To hell with the naesayers!

By Jane. Posted July 19 2009 at 1:44 PM.

I am sorr but she may be able to sing but that is it if she can not cope with lsing then she should get out, i am sick to death of seeing her in the papers.

SUSAN BOYLE IS ONE IN A MILLION THAT GETS A CHANCE IN A LIFETIME I HOPE SHE WILL DO GOOD
AND DO GREAT AND THE WORLD IS LOOKING FORWORD TOITAND ALLOF THE IRISH

Stop being such a diva. You lost, get over yourself. You are a good singer, but there are better in the world.

By nicholle. Posted June 17 2009 at 4:53 PM.

How odd all these negative comments are, as if they matter one whit. The most famous singers in the world can claim only a fraction of people as fans. No one has won over ever person as a fan because people have so many different preferences in music, singing style, and many other factors.

Do any of you really think it matters whether you are a fan of Susan Boyle or not?

And why are you wasting time commenting about someone you don't like?

SUSAN BOYLE YOUR THE BEST SINGER THAT HAS COME ALONG EVER AND WE ALL HOPE HERE IN THE UNITED STATES YOU COME HERE SO WE CAN HAVE THE PRVILEGE OF SEEING YOU IN PERSON AND HEARING YOU SING WITH THAT BEAUITFUL VOICE YOU HAVE. BLESS YOU & PEBBLES!!!!!!

By Maggie May. Posted June 15 2009 at 6:53 PM.

i am a dutch woman, and loves susan boyle's singing ,but the audiance is awful. so she can't sing a note. blame on the orginezers of the tour . If you was in holland, the audiance had no chance to mis-behave so. If i was susan, i sing no note for a audiance that have not a bit of respect.
She can better go to america, there she is loved and respected more than in the UK.
greetings from Holland, and susan god bless

Thank you Susan for being yourself. Please consider the sources of those who try to put you down. You are a great singer! I am looking forward to seeing and hearing you in the United States. You are very very welcome here. Ignore the ignorant who don't deserve to hear your beautiful voice.

By Julie Adams. Posted June 15 2009 at 2:59 PM.

Susan Boyle has sung two songs in public then, like so many before, 'stardom' has dictated her immediate future. Sadly she does not possess the durability or mental balance to cope with it all. I hope she gets herself sorted or this naivette and mental fragility will be her nemesis.

By robert. Posted June 15 2009 at 6:51 AM.

Susan you are a legend please come out to Australia we would love to see you perform live. You are wonderful...

By paul simper . Posted June 15 2009 at 2:51 AM.

i really like susan boyle and watched her on bgt final then bought a ticket to see her on tour in manchester. i waited all week to see if she was going on tour and was so excited to find out she was well enough to go. today i travelled to manchester m.e.n arena to find out that she was not appearing. i was so disappointed that i got my money back well some of it. after travelling home i went on this website and found that she would be appearing at glassgo and edinburgh of course she wouldnt disapoint her home town would she. if she wants to sell albums then she needs to keep to her word and perform for the people who got her where she is today....most disapointed with her.....

By denise. Posted June 15 2009 at 12:34 AM.

Susan Boyle, I wished I had been a judge the night you took the U.S.A. by surprise. You sent chills up my spine and of all the shows I have seen in the UK and can honestly say you are the STAR. I so want a CD. Just get up one morning look out your window and let the little people with no respect behind, as its you that has the goldne path to walk. Take it at you pace. I wish I could say more. Regards, Yorba Linda, Ca 92886 :-)

By David, . Posted June 14 2009 at 11:40 PM.

I don't think Susan Boyle, given her fragility, should perform live. Confine her performances to a recording studio.

By Alexandrina. Posted June 14 2009 at 8:27 PM.

Go for it Susan. You deserve it!

By Howie N Dyson. Posted June 14 2009 at 7:45 PM.

I could never stand in front of a huge audience to make a public speech. Let alone sing in front of millions of people live. It takes extreme courage. The beauty of Susan Boyle is her natural, raw, unassuming power house of a voice. God made each of us special in every way. It just was Susan's chance to triumph over diversity in her life, and come out a superstar. I hope she will love her new life and have her cat Pebbles by her side.

By Merrill Tepper. Posted June 14 2009 at 7:09 PM.

she`s already a diva - with a voice like that she can afford to throw hissy fits - they all do it - leave her alone. well done susan - give em what for !

By ella. Posted June 14 2009 at 6:48 PM.

When susan adjusts to her fame, and has plenty support and protection she will become less worried about nasty comments and find real happiness. because she loves to sing. may all your dreams come true Susan. Barbo

By b barley. Posted June 14 2009 at 6:23 PM.

To all you people who have made nasty comments about Susan Boyle shut up. If you don't like her singing, don't listen to her, That is perfectly acceptable. But please step back a minute and listen to yourselves because some of you are so spiteful and ugly inside. Thankfully, for this country, you are in the minority, so there is still hope for this country, but not alas for you.

i think subo is over rated if she get the nerves now' how is she going to manage when she has to do a tour?. i think the money she is asking for is a stupid cost, she aought to get a life before she can class herself a star. subo get real. there are better talent than her in B G T

By Trevor c. Posted June 14 2009 at 5:11 PM.

I went to see BGT at Sheffield last night and she wasnt the only one to gettinga standing ovation. Its about time people realised that BGT isn't just about Susan Boyle but also the other acts - Diversit, Flawless, Sean Smith, Julian Smith and the others. Stop making her out to be something she isnt. She is more of a spoilt brat than little Hollie and she certainly acts like it. I am sure many people will feel very let down that she is not performing at Manchester - who does she think she is???

By Rachel. Posted June 14 2009 at 4:29 PM.

It’s not just about whether or not Susan has a fantastic voice. She has a lovely voice and that is good enough for me. But the best bit, is when I here her voice, I can visualise her, the way she looks, her ‘cheeky grin’ as Piers put it. A bit of shyness, a bit of bravado. She makes me feel happy just thinking about her. Can’t wait for her album. As for Bob’s comments on her claiming benefits. Maybe she couldn’t cope with work, there are a lot of spiteful people out there in the work place, and that is very hard to handle. She is in a better position now and doesn’t have to deal directly with spiteful people.

By Lily Anne. Posted June 14 2009 at 3:13 PM.

I have never heard a voice like hers.Very few people are given the gift to inspire with song as she can.

When you hear something like that it's hard to realise that the phenomenom behind it is also a person.

On a very selfish level i hope she is allowed to sing some more.

By Clive McDonald. Posted June 14 2009 at 2:38 PM.

MAY GOB BLESS YOU SUSAN. I love you and I don't care about your tantrums...

By jay. Posted June 14 2009 at 2:16 PM.

Hi Susan, watch my recording of you on a daily basis and yes enjoy every minute. Only go do what you want to do Susan you are the one with the talent and if you want to stop then once again your chioce....do enjoy your lif and hello to Pebbles.....hurry with your cd as I will of course purchase....Betty P

By Betty Pickering. Posted June 14 2009 at 2:03 PM.

If some of you are not fans of Susan, why do you waste valuable time looking for stories about her??

As for Robin Linsey - your 'someone' knows what to do. Audtion for BGT. But let us know who the 'someone' is so we can comment on them.

If people are prepared to pay that amount then good luck to Susan.

By Pauline. Posted June 14 2009 at 2:02 PM.

wow what comments on susan seriously give her a break i doubt anyone could cope with the intense media attention (ya hearin me 'dont sing live britney') at least susan gave it a go and she showed us that we shouldnt write people of at first glance and for her so called upset at losing the final i think if u actually look at her face that was sheer relief at coming second!! so susan boyle you go girl enjoy what the world has to offer forget those bitter twisted JEALOUS folk who would kill there granny to be doing what your doing

By jacqui. Posted June 14 2009 at 1:26 PM.

Alot of VERY jealous people commenting, personally speaking I couldnt care less what she earns. If she is happy I wish her all the best and I hope she earns more money than she can ever spend.

By William S. Posted June 14 2009 at 1:01 PM.

I think its disgusting that she wants to buy her council house, it will stop somebody else that needs it.

After all she can afford several houses.

I liked her, but this has out me right off her now.

By P Staker. Posted June 14 2009 at 1:12 PM.

I wish her all the luck in the world. I'm very happy for her.

By Elizabeth Millar. Posted June 14 2009 at 1:21 PM.

It's a disgrace that any company would pay GBP100000+ for 'entertainment'!! Undoubtedly these companies have been sacking people left, right and centre and are quite possibly continuosly relying on government hand-outs seeing as most 'normal' self-sufficient companies would not have this cash to waste.

By Leendert Stolk. Posted June 14 2009 at 1:20 PM.

Susan is a rare gem, an inspiration to dreamers. The minute I heard her sing, I can't stop wanting for more. Her character on stage and the way she communicates with her audience, in addition to her angelic voice, attracted me to this woman. She amuses millions of people so she deserves what she is offered. God bless Susan!

By aiko. Posted June 14 2009 at 12:03 PM.

Have to laugh at the people moaning. She'll soon have more money than all of you put together. Deal with that.

By Bob. Posted June 14 2009 at 12:00 PM.

susan boyle is an average singer whenshe sang memories it was really really awful, and what gets my back up is she has been claiming benefits all this time saying she cannot cope with work yet she can go on stage and sing in front of everyone if she can do this she can stack shelves in a supermarket.

By lianne . Posted June 14 2009 at 11:14 AM.

omg i Joe shirley you have it the nail on the head burst out laughing at your comment...but it is true plus as any one herd her sing more the 2 songs ??????

By diana . Posted June 14 2009 at 11:02 AM.

I went to BGT concert last night in Sheffield. Although I am not a fan of the show I have to admit that Susan Boyle and Holly Steel were superb. The whole show was entertaining and worth the money.

By Cytine. Posted June 14 2009 at 10:34 AM.

Well done to her.

If you can make that amount of money for gigs in this current time, and people are willing to pay these amounts of money for her, she has every right to take it.

Of course Syco will probably be taking 15%???

By Keith. Posted June 14 2009 at 10:38 AM.

Good Luck Susan Boyle well done girl go for it....we all love you here and in America in fact all over the world... your are a joy and inspiraton to many in these days of doom and gloom

By Paul M. Posted June 14 2009 at 9:57 AM.

If Susan Boyle is sooooooo brilliant, why didn't she win?? Have people actually forgotten Diversity the group that people voted for and WON, Susan as had her 5 minutes of fame, she obviously can't cope with it, she should just go home, she is a load of fuss about nothing.

By Donna. Posted June 14 2009 at 8:54 AM.

To Susan's naysayers: People all over the world have not downloaded you nearly 300,000,000 times! Susan touches something within people in a way that defies explanation--even you, or you would not be going to so much trouble just to be mean and embarrass yourselves in front of so many witnesses.

By Joly. Posted June 14 2009 at 9:10 AM.

Leave Susan alone you bullies!!!

By Lesley Thorpe. Posted June 14 2009 at 9:13 AM.

By mrs_spratt. Posted June 14 2009 at 8:39 AM.

Why some people are so cruel.?Susan is a wonderful woman.a talented singer and personally I adore he! we loved you from the start Susan. Leave those who try to destroy you to rot in their jelousy.

By tessie. Posted June 14 2009 at 8:36 AM.

is it just me or has no body else realized that she's not even that good a load of hype over nothing

By durhamboy. Posted June 14 2009 at 8:00 AM.

If she had come on stage the first time with a fantastic hairdo and clothes - she would ever have won. She quickly told everyone she was a virgin and had looked after her mum and cat all her life adding to the Awwww factor. Personally - her first time was her best - she needs professional voice training, Or maybe not - music can be touched up on albums - so what you hear is not really her anyway. She sounds like a spoilt brat, a diva already!!

By Zoobie. Posted June 14 2009 at 8:10 AM.

Oh for goodness sake, stop pussy-footing around her! SHE DIDN'T WIN and she is having these hissy-fits because of it. She is an average looking, average singer who can sing two average songs. I bet the other contestants are livid that she is getting all this special attention. The idea of dragging a cat all all over the world? Don't even get me started on that one. Oh, and I certainly hope she has ALREADY had her benefits stopped, she is working now.

By Jay. Posted June 14 2009 at 7:39 AM.

Brilliant news. She has shown the bullies has she not. and into the bargain earning world wide fame and fortune. The cruel jibes may continue from lesser beings but she can now laugh all the way to the bank and with many decent folk supporting her obvious talent and charm.

By mary. Posted June 14 2009 at 7:05 AM.

**Keith Price**

Why do you listen to her then? Can't you just switch her to "off" and stop your whining and moaning.
I think most folks are gonna be very jealous of her.
You go Susan!

********************************
So who are they, will they go on a show like this...send us a tape.

I think this show is the best thing i've seen in a long time and i'm a pensioner. If only there were chances like this for us, back in the day.

If your friend is brilliant - prove it. I tried to manage groups and singers in the 80's but the door was shut for my acts, because only certain people ran the business, Mickie Most and the like. You couldn't get a foot in the door - Bob Monkhouse tried to help me, bless him but even he said you had to be in the know. This programme kicks that door wide open, give it a shot.
The public are yearning for entertainment programmes, with people who can really sing. I'm glad they have returned.

Fill in the form, get your friend to appear...it can only be good for them.

By Zordana. Posted June 14 2009 at 3:44 AM.

What's sad about those who ridicule Susan is that we've all done it. The mirror, the hairbrush, the dramatics...thinking we'd be the best thing since sliced bread but those who have the guts to go forward, have my utmost admiration...i didn't and i still regret that.
What saddens me is that Susan went for it, conquered and then got scared, who the hell wouldn't....overpowering is an understatement.
So the media dumped on her...how fickle they are. This must be the most horrendous, yet beautiful thing that has happened to her in her entire life...give her time. Let her adjust, let her acclimatise herself to the strangest world she'll ever know and let us enjoy the beauty of her voice after all, that's what it's all about.

By Samantha Jones. Posted June 14 2009 at 3:28 AM.

Fantasic news - Susan Boyle is a talented singer, her life has been a struggle and she is well deserving of finally taking her rightful place in society. To those cruel people who say sometimes dreadful and unkind things - where is your kindness and compassion for another person and if you can't be happy for someone's success then be polite and don't say anything.
