MADONNA is determined to go for an immaculate collection of kids by adopting an African baby with lover Jesus.

The star has switched her efforts from Malawi to Nigeria, making inquiries at an orphanage in the city of Kaduna about a female tot.

The Material Girl was devastated when her bid to adopt a little girl called Mercy was rejected by a Malawi court in April.

This time round she is involving model boyfriend Jesus Luz, 22, to prove he can act as a responsible father.

A source close to the 50-year-old singer revealed: "She was distraught when her adoption failed in Malawi.

"At the time she blamed the fact that her relationship with Jesus made her look like she was going through some midlife crisis.

"But now she's looking at adoption centres in Nigeria and has got another female friend to make an initial approach to test the waters.

"She's determined not to make the same mistakes and feels that the only way to do this is to get Jesus involved from the off." Madonna's pal has made an approach to the Mercy Home Orphanage, which is home to 30 children.

Our source said: "Madonna is considering visiting, perhaps with Jesus, as soon as she can."

But she may encounter problems similar to those she faced in Malawi, which ruled out adoption because she was not resident in the country.

Adoptive parents who have not been resident in Nigeria for at least three months find the adoption process extremely difficult.

A source said: "Madonna has some of the best legal minds working for her and she'll be pushing them to find a loophole."

She's determined to extend her family and provide a little sister for daughter Lourdes, 12, and sons Rocco, eight, and David, three, who she adopted in Malawi. The source continued: "Madonna always thought she would eventually win her battle to adopt Mercy, but that hasn't been the case. She thinks this will bring her and Jesus together as one big happy family."

Her friend added: "Failure is not an option. Madonna wouldn't be able to take rejection for the second time."

Oh my, she's already got 4 kids (including the toyboy), why on earth does she need more! That wretched woman just doesn't take no for an answer and will fight tooth and nail over the principle that she should be allowed another adoption... Another one of those celebs with an army of nannies, and whose kids are just accessories to parade around when she has a slot in her schedule, accessories just like her arm candy of a toyboy! Pathetic!

Why doesn't she try to adopt a child with a disability? A child that is difficult to place because they are disabled? There are so many children with disabilities who need loving caring homes all around the world. There are thousands of children in her home country who need loving homes. Why does she not try there?

As long as she can provide a stable family background for the child, what does it matter where she adopts from. Surely being raised as part of a family is better than being raised in an orphanage?

What does maddonna think she is going to get for adopting another African child into a relationship that is clearly unstable. Is she after a knighthood or being known as the real MADDONNA of biblical sense. Why shouldn’t Madonna get to adopt or anyone for that matter I think if she can provide a loving family home then she should be allowed to and why is it ridiculous? Because she chose to concentrate on her career and delayed having family does that make it wrong to now want children because she is satisfied with where her career is? Why can’t a woman not have a career and then have children later on in life? I too am the same where I have chosen to concentrate on my career and at 40 still have no children is this wrong I don’t think so why in this day and age do people (mostly women) have this opinion ? Jealousy I suspect! As for the age issue why is it wrong for a 50 year old to adopt? Is that women not fit enough to have another child just because people think she is too old. So I can assume that most people on here are in favour of having children young and therefore think that having children at 13 upwards is acceptable!! If this is true then I have to say again this is a ridiculous concept!! Or is it because the person is famous and actually not British that is the problem here as would we even be hearing or talking about it if this person was an unknown entity? I think people she get off their high horse as we do live in the 21st century and not in the dark ages. I think it is very disrespectful for people to think that because someone is famous that they have no sense of reality as after having a career spanning 3 decades I hardly think this is the case.

this is just pure crazy! when shes on tour whose going be looking after these kids? is this woman so blind and selfish? isnt it time she melted into the background n retire gracefully?
Im not against her adopting but isnt wot she doing can actually be considered trafficing in children? buying human beings! why dont u just donate £10 mil 2 these african nations or set up refuges for these poor kids where they can b educated into a better standard of living n become an ambassador for ur charity n stop looking a prat?

This woman is making herself look ridiculous! She and Angeline Jolie and their collections of multicoloured children are trivialising the very serious subject of adoption. As Charlie says, why doesn't she adopt in her own country? Actually, I think I know the answer to that - she's too old to be accepted!

why does she feel the need to adopt from malawi or africa? there are plenty of needy children here in the UK and in her own country of america. i used to be a huge fan of madonna's - not anymore. least angelina jolie adopted from countries with existing adoption laws and didn't just throw money at them to try to get a child
