The News of the World GP - whose advice is trusted by millions - is dating a sexy TV fitness expert and personal trainer to the stars.
Hilary, 55, fell for 38-year-old beauty Dee Thresher following his separation from wife Sarah Harvey last November.
Pictured this week for the first time with his new love, Hilary told us: "Yes, we are an item. It is very early days and I am reluctant to talk about this but we're together.
"It was a total surprise when I found myself becoming close to Dee, but she made me laugh again, relax and start enjoying life outside work. I'm very lucky."
Hilary blamed the breakdown of his 18-year marriage on the fallout from an affair he had with a TV presenter in 1993. He admits it poisoned his relationship with Sarah despite their efforts to save their marriage.
He said: "Sixteen years ago I made a mistake. I tried desperately hard to make amends and save my relationship with Sarah for both our sakes and for those of our children.
"But I totally understand how difficult it has been and don't blame her at all for finding it hard to come to terms with what happened all those years ago-ultimately it destroyed the marriage."
Hilary met mum-of-two Dee when they collaborated on GMTV's 'Bikini Diet' last year.
Sexy Dee became a favourite with viewers after her advice transformed EastEnders actress Charlie Brookes, who lost two stone and dropped four dress sizes.
Hilary said last night: "Dee and I have been friends for a while but it's only in the last couple of months that we've become an item.
"It's early days but we're very relaxed together, laughing a lot and catching up with our friends-life is great."
And Dee-who has been separated from her own husband for nearly a year-told the News of the World: "We have been friends for a while and I hadn't been ready to embark on a new relationship until recently.
"But it seems natural and right."
The famous doc, who still works as a GP two days a week, has moved out of the home he shared with Sarah, 48, in Basingtoke, Hants, and is now living on his own in a London flat.
He met Sarah when she was working as a health visitor at his surgery in 1987 and they married three years later. They have three children together and were thought to have enjoyed one of the strongest marriages in showbiz.
But last night Dr Hilary blamed their separation on the pressure his marriage was put under after his early affair with TV presenter Josephine Buchan. He said: "To be honest, I don't really want to talk about my marriage to Sarah but after nearly 20 years together there were some serious strains. People change, but we gave it our best shot.
"In the end, it just wasn't to be. I decided seven months ago that the best thing to do would be to separate.
"I moved out so we could think it through independently and confirm it was the right decision. I can't speak for Sarah but it was the right decision for me."
Since the split, Sarah has been seeing 37-year-old ex- Navy captain Stephen Tristram-18 years her junior.
Hilary said: "I'm very pleased that she's met someone new. It was reported that I was furious, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I hope they will be very happy together. She deserves to be.
"We both tried very hard to make the marriage work for a long, long time.
"We share three beautiful kids and we can be justifiably proud of many of our achievements, but there were some things we just couldn't resolve."
A close friend of the couple told the News of the World: "The bottom line is that Sarah tried hard but she could never forgive Hilary absolutely for his affair.
"She couldn't come to terms with the fact that he cheated during the early years of their marriage and they were both splashed across the newspapers. She felt humiliated. Hilary worked really hard over the years to try and save the marriage but those feelings were just becoming very destructive."
A friend from GMTV said the handsome TV doc's reputation as a ladies' man was entirely unjustified.
The pal said: "It amazes everyone how just being an ordinary GP who happens to be on telly has generated so much interest.
"Good-looking blokes who are on the TV are inevitably linked to all sorts of people-it doesn't mean there's anything going on."
The three children Hilary had with Sarah are believed not to have met Dee, but are aware that both their father and mother have new relationships.
Hilary's two oldest sons, Tristan, 29, and Sebastian, 28-from his first six-year marriage to first ex Anne Marie-have been supportive of their dad and encouraged him to get on with his life.
He told us: "I wasn't looking for anything or anyone in particular.

"But I'm blessed with many friends and family members and everyone's been incredibly supportive and have understood my decision completely.
"Dee's got a fantastic personality and work ethic and we have a lot in common.
"We've got the same interests, in fitness and health and people, and we both love going out, working and socialising.
"We were out with some colleagues from work and at almost the same time we realised there was a spark between us. There was some chemistry, it really took us both by surprise."
A friend of the TV doc and his new girlfriend said: "Jonesy and Dee have known each other and worked together for quite a long time but recently have become very close friends.
"They have a huge amount in common and have been there for each other during some difficult times.
"They are both great with people, popular with their clients and see the glass as being half full rather than half empty.
"They can both fill a room full of energy-they both give a lot to other people. It's obvious they are really happy together and all their friends and family are thrilled for them." Hilary's bosses at GMTV have backed him 100 per cent since news of his marriage split three weeks ago. He added: "Everyone has been brilliant, and very supportive. It's a great team and I'm lucky to have such decent colleagues.
"I'm looking forward to having more energy and continuing my medical and TV career."
Hilary, who qualified in medicine in 1976 and first appeared on defunct station TV-am, met Dee on the GMTV set where he has been a regular contributor on medical matters since 1993.
Toned fitness instructor Dee has been responsible for whipping soap stars into shape for bestselling celebrity fitness DVDs.
Dee-who is also a keen runner-was first put in touch with Universal, the company behind weight-loss titles, when she was spotted taking part in a televised sports exhibition in 2005.
After impressing producers, she was chosen to choreograph the routines for a host of celebs looking to lose weight and tone up.
Her DVD credits include being personal trainer and co-presenter of the Before & After Workout with Charlie Brooks, the Letitia Dean Lean Routine and Then & Now Workout with Natalie Cassidy.
EastEnders star Letitia, 41, who played portly Sharon Watts, shifted two stone while her former co-star Natalie, 26, (Sonia Fowler) lost an incredible four stone.
Charlie, 28, who plays Albert Square superbitch Janine Butcher, shed two stone and dropped four dress sizes to a skinny size 8.
She said of Dee: "She really pushed me. It was painful, but I quickly started losing weight, which encouraged me."
Dee has said of her business: "I pride myself on my 100 per cent success rate with my clients, who have all achieved real results with me through hard work, determination and healthy eating.
"I think the key to losing weight is analysing your lifestyle and looking at the body as a machine, like a car. If you fill that with the wrong petrol it won't run properly."
She also writes a weekly exercise and fitness column for a women's magazine and has been involved in many television and radio shows.

As a first wife, myself, adultery is NOT on. They are NOT divorced , so therefor still legally married, BOTH of them. Can they not stay SINGLE until the divorce is finalised, plenty of time for other people AFTER the divorce.
I am ages with the dishy doc, but marriage vows don't seem to mean a flying fig to a lot of people.

Betrayal is betrayal. If more people thought about the words they said on their wedding day, instead of the wedding dress & the drinks, there would be less divorce.

Hard to feel to sorry for a smarmy looking man or the woman who had an affair with him while he was still married to his first wife.

oh REALLY difficult for Sarah the 2nd wife...whom was fine committing adultery behind the back of his 1st wife, and during their 18 yr marriage knew full well Jones was constantly having affairs BUT loved all the attention and celebrity he brought to her mundane life. She is an incredibly shallow spiteful woman, and belive me I know! Dont shed any tears for sarah as she knew what she was doing and what goes around comes around

She best off without him and starting again...he is smarmy and preening...she has spent her youth looking after his children...time for her now. Bet there's some competition for the bathroom mirror in his new relationship.
