LUCKY the sun's out.

Here are three of the world's most beautiful supermodels making a splash in some very skimpy swimsuits.

Veteran babe Claudia Schiffer proves that she's still the queen of the catwalk - and the pool - as she leads the charge of the world's most iconic supermodels.

The 38-year-old went head to head with Eva Herzigova, 36, for the sizzling shoot.

Toned

But it's not just the oldies breaking out the sunscreen.

Younger pin-up Gisele Bündchen, the world's richest model, also plunged head first into the bikini battle.

The super-honed and super-toned supermodels were all snapped by world renowned photographer Mario Testino for cult V Magazine 's first-ever swimsuit issue.

Editor-in-chief of V Stephen Gan said: "Mario Testino and I started talking about doing a swimsuit issue about this time last year.

"We aimed for something like a cool fashion insider's answer to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues. We chose the sexiest bodies in the world."

The shoot also featured supermodels Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell and Daria Werbowy, each of whom appears on their own separate magazine cover.
