A drunken Phil (Steve McFadden) has just returned to Shirley's room to spill his guts about an incident with the Brownies.
Worried about Heather's reaction to seeing him there, Shirley (Linda Henry) tries to get Phil to leave - but he doesn't budge.
Instead of fury, Heather (Cheryl Fergison) is delighted to see the pair together, telling her pal it's all very romantic.
An Enders insider said: "Shirley wants to be really careful with Phil after their tumultuous relationship so far.
"But with Heather's seal of approval, this could finally be the point where they make it together."

Raging Daz tries to frogmarch Aaron (Danny Miller) out the door but before he can diffuse the situation his secret tryst with Victoria (Isabel Hodgins) slips out and all hell breaks loose.
Desperate Daz then tries to grovel to the Kings but they tell him to sling his hook.
He then has to decide whether to hang around or let Victoria bite the bullet alone.
