'Secret' £455k was final straw, fury over texts to other girls
ANGRY Kerry Katona finally threw out hubby Mark Croft when she found he has a £455,000 stash in one of his firm's accounts, the News of the World can reveal.
Soon afterwards the broke former Atomic Kitten was caught on a TV camera sobbing: "He's been destroying my life."
She added: "Mark is dead to me. I'm going to do everything possible to keep him out of my life for good. I have to."
The crunch came when Kerry was weeping over not being able to pay the bills. She could not pay her kids' NANNY or even buy FOOD for the youngsters despite earning a fortune from recent deals.

She confronted Croft and he told her: "'We've got money- don't worry about money." Then he showed her a bank statement with all the money in-nearly half a million.
We can reveal that Croft- who was in charge of Kerry's finances-cost her more than £2.5 million in total, or a staggering £2,290 A DAY.
Their final showdown followed a series of blazing rows in which Kerry:
- ACCUSED Mark of secretly texting other women;
- REFUSED his demands to cut her mum out of her life;
- CONFRONTED him about secret backhanders he pocketed from paparazzi pictures; and
- ATTACKED him for claiming she treated her kids with Brian McFadden better than the ones with him.
A source close to Kerry told how on Wednesday Mark revealed to her that he'd put a chunk of money in the firm Modena Developments-which he's a director of.
Then he gave her a faxed bank statement from 2007 showing it was £455,000 in credit.
The source added: "He stuck it under her nose and said, 'Here you go, we've got the money. So just stop bloody worrying about it.'
"All of Kerry's earnings are paid to her company KK Media, and she had no idea how such a sum came to be in Modena's account. It shook her faith in Mark badly and she asked him to leave."
One of Modena's directors has a close association with Kerry's accountant David McHugh-a former crook.
He was jailed for 4½ years in 2004 for investment fraud after just £32,000 of £3.5 million he recovered from debtors for clients was given to them.
The fragile star, who suffers from bipolar disorder or manic depression, was filmed weeping over her collapsed marriage by an MTV crew who have been following her life.
She told them: "This has to end. Mark's bled me dry. He won't take another penny of my money."
Mum-of-four Kerry, 28, is now drinking vodka every day in a bid to cope with the split.
And her worried mum Sue has moved in to her £1.2 million Cheshire home to keep a close eye on her.

The star has also begged the MTV team not to leave her side-in case she weakens and takes Mark back.
She wants the crew-said to "loathe" Croft for always putting her down-to film her every day for two months for a new show, Kerry Katona: The Divorce.
Last night Croft was trying to patch things up but distraught Kerry said: "Everyone else thought Mark was bad news all along but I stupidly trusted him. What a fool."
She has been wed to the 38-year-old former cabbie for just over two years, and they have two children, Heidi, two, and 11-month-old Max.
Kerry also has two daughters, Molly, seven, and Lily-Sue, six, from her failed marriage to ex-Westlife pop star McFadden.
Since meeting Croft in 2006, she has earned £6 million-plus. But much of it has been lavished on her new husband, who was a £16,000-a-year cabbie with a £1,000 Vauxhall before they got together.
His recent extravagances include a £1.4 MILLION fleet of luxury cars, which he was adding to even after his wife was declared bankrupt last summer over an £82,000 tax bill.
This year Kerry has pocketed £40,000 from a magazine article, had her £285,000-a-year Iceland ad deal renewed and her return as an OK! columnist confirmed.
But she learned her bank account was EMPTY when a cheque for the nanny BOUNCED.
Heidi and Maxwell were TURNED AWAY from their nursery because their fees had not been paid for six weeks.
And last week Kerry was told the cabin holiday home she was buying in Anglesey, North Wales, was not hers-as the £400 deposit Mark was paying had not been received.
A close source said: "Last week there wasn't enough to even buy food for the kids."
Kerry has now ditched her old accountant, Croft's pal McHugh, and hired Frank Cochran, director of accounting firm Celebrity Financial Planning, to unravel what has happened to her cash.
He told us last night: "Kerry certainly should not be bankrupt. We are carrying out tests to establish the truth."
He insisted Kerry was not to blame for her cash crisis, saying: "She hasn't had any control over it and is not good with money by her own admission.
"This is down to the fact she is bipolar and can't concentrate for long periods."
Meanwhile sources close to Kerry have told of recent bust-ups with Croft before Wednesday's final showdown.
She flew into a rage after seeing texts and calls on his phone from other women, including his ex-girlfriend Louise Oortwyn, 30. Mark-previously rumoured to have cheated on Kerry-said he had to keep in contact with Louise because of their daughter Keeley, seven.
But a source said: "Kerry is wildly jealous of Louise. Mark will be nasty to Kerry and call her 'fat' but he'll never speak to Louise like that.
"Kerry fears Mark will go back to her and they'll have a jet-set lifestyle with all the money he's got from her."
Meanwhile Croft is furious that Kerry has reconciled with her mum after a 2½-year stand-off.
A source revealed: "He told Kerry he'd leave her and not return until she disowned her mum again-and he expected her to go along with him.
"This time she refused." Meanwhile Kerry has discovered that Croft is taking cash back-handers from paparazzi for photo opportunities of her.
In January she was pictured topless on holiday in the Canary Islands, and the snaps were sold for up to £45,000 to newspapers and magazines.
The photos were staged and were the first taken of Kerry since her liposuction and boob reduction op.
But Kerry's management company had no involvement.
And the same agency that took them has been offering exclusive pictures of Mark after the split.
The couple have also had rows about the children.
Our source said: "Mark thinks that Kerry favours her two oldest children.
Last week he told her to sort out her attitude to him and their youngest kids. It turned into a huge row and they screamed abuse at each other and she said she wanted a divorce."

Yesterday morning Croft was at a hotel in Warrington, where he had been spending time with their baby son Max.
At 1pm he went to their family home for talks to try and make up with Kerry in the hope that he could charm her once more and persuade her to take him back..
As he walked to the house he was asked how things were with her-and he replied: "Absolutely fantastic."
He later left and returned at 5.30pm with a bundle of documents-and flowers for Kerry.

We dont know what Mark WAS like when they got together... but everytime i had the miss fortune of seeing them in the fly on the wall thing SHE was rubbing her money in HIS face and telling him that he was just a taxi driver.. and when ever i saw her in the news she was the typical person with money thinking that they can get away with anything... but usually did refering to the driving violations she had and still did not go to prison like the rest of us would have. I think she liked the controlling feeling and has been bitten on the a*se by it.. Hopefully she has now learnt her lesson and does not lose her kids homes as result.
But if you think i'm going to feel sorry for someone who has allowed more money than alot of us would ever see slip through her fingers you must be joking.

I'll lay money that this anouncement is nowhere near anything like it first appears.
As a bancrupt, Kerry has had to make clear and legally binding statements as to her financial affairs. As most of the money she owes is to the Inland Revenue, they will obviously have conducted a forensic examination of her statements and guess what...bingo...they've found a substancial amount of money that she's hidden from them in a company part owned by her hubby!
Naughty, naughty...we're talking prison time here Miss KK for doing something like this and the loss of her kids!!!!
So what do Mark do...take the fall for her...big time!! How he stole it from her and without her knowledge! She's totally innocent and the victim in his pursuit of her money! Numerous rounds of TV studios later and all with the cash register banging away again! The Revenue drop their charges against her...poor Kerry. Two years down the road and they're back together...she's missed him so much and he's a reformed man now...and still the cash register is blinging away!

It's a bit rich for this silly woman to say Mark was "secretly" taking her money. What did she think all those Porsches, Ferraris, Lamborghini etc. were - freebies?
Also it shouldn't be possible to simply shift large chunks of money from one company account to another, even with a dodgy accountant - hopefully HMRC will take a close interest in such antics.

Whilst I feel that compassion and forgiveness are the only way in life, i feel HUGELY embarrassed by the way we as the British public fawn and pander to these so called 'celebrities'. They are like spoilt babies who are clearly so lonely and depressed that they need constant attention. WHY do we still humour them. Its like being at high school again with the immature popularity games that go on in the media. None of these people actually contribute anything to art or society, they just demand more and more and more money and attention as it slips from their grasp. We are a very sad nation frankly. COME ON BRITAIN! Where is our pride, think of the incredible artists, politicians and musicians we have created over the years. Why are we reduced to humouring all these self centred, arrogant media whores like Kerry Katona, Lily Allen, Peaches Geldof and their male counterparts. It makes me want to burn my TV and leave the planet. And before anyone says 'dont watch them then!' Trust me, I try SO hard not to but they somehow weedle their way into my life because they are saturating our society with their sell out lifestyles and crass opinions. 2) you can pick yourself up, decide that you are the winner because you have got all 4 children, , you can continue to do your work! throw any drugs, drinks in the bin and be done with it.... and i promise you, that you will wake up one morning and think, what did i see in that worm, and how lucky am i!

Kerry......... Good on you girl that you have got rid of such a scumbag(and ur accountant)!!!! The hard bit for you will be keeping the scumbag out!!!! But you have your children that will make you happy and it doesnt matter how old they are- they will all help you through it. Children have a way of helping a parent recover from situations such as this but you need to stop the drinking and feeling sorry for yourself and help them help you- Kids pick up on the bad feelings as well. Learn from your mistakes. You need to sort yourself out properly for you and your children. Im sure you have friends and family that will help. You can live without a man in your life but you need your children. Get sorted girl get some work that you have previously been acustom too that you are good at and look after no1 your children and you. All the above is easy for people to say and its easy for people to slag you off- but you know your better than that rise above it and good luck with everything. :)

I think the last comment is rather harsh, Kerry has clearly worked hard for her money, her page in O.K magazine, the iceland adds, the press deals the perfume etc, to say she has had money thrown at her is riddiculous and sounds like a jelous comment, whats to say you work harder than someone always in the spotlight atleast you can go to the toilet in peace with out loads of paps taking your picture. Kerry's a mess and this is going to continue unless she accepts proper support and then goes along with it. She needs to keep men out of her love life and learn to be happy with who she is. Coping with bipolar disorder is hard enough but now she's an alcoholic and allowing every bad thing that has gone on in her life to take over. I'm sure she has a counselor, (obligatory in the Z list celeb world). Lets hope she learns to gain some respect for herself or no doubt she'll take Mark back or pick another similar piece of scum.

You marry someone who clearly is a gold digger from the start and you have not got the sense you were born with not to have not seen it. Then you go on to have more children, when your already other volitile relationship with your first husband is still on the rocks. Perhaps this will show you, what a fool you have been. I do feel sorry for Kerry to an extent, with so many people telling her how bad mark was, its like telling a teenager not to do something, they will do it all the more.
Maybe she was trying to prove people wrong, look where it got her.
Now she has seen him for what he is, maybe she can admit her drug and alcohol problem properly to herself and sort the state of her life out for the sake of the children,
afterall its them that are suffering.
shame it has taken her so long - and lost such a huge amount of money to realise what we all saw.

Kerry, keep strong and do whats right for yourself and your children. You've been through worse than this I'm sure and you came out the other side. There WILL be people who say "Told you so" but you have to rise above it. It's so difficult when you are in a relationship with someone who chips away at your confidence and it makes you blind to who they really are. I know, I've been there so I'm not gonna say "told you so". I'm gonna say "Stay strong" You will falter and wonder if you're doing the right thing but believe me you are! Hmmm I wonder why some of us have no sympathy for the stupid woman? ermm let me think. The words made your bed spring to mind and funnily enough there are far more important things going on in this world besides Kerry. I can't sympathise with someone who knew exactly what her husband was doing....oh but then of course she couldn't have because she was either drunk or drugged. I just wish she would get on with her life in private ....but then I guess you don't get paid for private do you?

She's not a fool and she didn't deserve this.
She was, and is, an extremely troubled and vulnerable young woman who has never recovered from the trauma of her childhood. She doesn't know who to trust or how. She has been prey to this man for too long. From watching the MTV shows we could all see long before Kerry did watch Mark did to her, but love is blind. The first action of an abuser is to isolate you - that is exactly what Mark did. Now she needs to stay strong and I hope that Max Clifford will give her the support that she desperately needs now instead of turning his back on her.

WELL SAID LOZ 100% AGREE. I have been thinking the exact same thing myself the past few weeks, nasty comments about Jade Goody one example.
As for Kerry, although I am not a fan, I do have some sympathy for her as a fellow human being. This is the second time a marriage has not worked out for her, and judging by the photo's of her she is clearly very hurt and upset, as anyone would be if their marriage broke down. Why knock the girl when, if this happened to you, you too would be upset.
Yes the whole world knew that this Croft character was an A******e, the trouble is people will not listen no matter how much you tell them, they have to find out for themselves, and Kerry has found out for herself, the hard way.
I hope she can sort herself out and get back on her feet. Although she will not see it now, she is well shot of him. I hope she chooses her next partner more wisely and not lurch from one loser to the next.

If, as most of you who are writing negative comments don't like her, why on earth are you even wasting your time writing a comment?
If people didn't read about her or watch her MTV programme she wouldn't have what she does. The media and public are at fault not her.
I was once in a controlling relationship although I couldn't see it at the time but everyone else could. It's very easy to condone someone when you haven't been in a similar situation. Love is a strange thing and can completely swallow you up.
Also, the nastiness of some comments regarding Kerry's bipolar concerns me, depression is a dreadful thing. I recently lost a very level headed, dependable colleague after she committed suicide caused by depression. She left behind a 10 month old baby.
What Kerry needs now is support not critisism.

I have never been a fan of Ms Katona, but my dislike towards her came when years ago she was on Loose Women, she was still with Brian at the time...I am not sure the exact subject they were talking about, but she said "now Im a millionaire" how crass is that!...anyhow as everyone has said you could see this coming...wasn't she declared bankrupt a year or two ago, then was seen driving round in a porsche...nice...so if that was anything to go by, I dont think we will be seeing her without her material things...

Its understandable that so few people have sympathy for her as she stood up for him, to the extent of turning her back on her own family, even publicly slagging them off in the papers. If you trust a stranger over your own flesh and blood, you need your head examined. Someone like her, with bipolar, should have had enough common sense to know she should have employed a neutral person to manage her affairs, Mark Croft is a scumbag and everyone else but Kerrry knew it. I hope she has learned from her expensive mistakes. She should have been thinking more of her kids than spending her money on new t**s and cars for him.
