BB10 – Who’s Going to Win?

Jan 25. 10.30am

OKAY - now's the time to look into my crystal ball and figure out who's going to win this summer's BB.

Sure, none of the housemates have actually been chosen, and it's still more than four months before they even enter the house. But if I've got it wrong you won't remember, and if I've got it right I won't stop reminding you.

The first tip I'd make is that it's going to be a boy. Rachel won the last BB, and the last three winners of CBB have all been girls as well: Chantelle, Shilpa, and now Ulrika.

What unites all four of them is that they're underdogs. The girls who took on the bullies and survived. That is now a very old story, and they won't want to waste next summer on another.

So, a boy. But what kind?

We've had the Tourette's Guy ( Pete ), the Gay Guy ( Brian ), the Black Guy ( other Brian ), the Christian Guy ( Cameron ), and the One Who Used to be a Guy ( Nadia ) We've had the two working class Guys - Craig and Anthony - as well.

So he won't be working class, and he won't have "token" written all over him. I'd say he's either going to be old - as in, over forty - or he's going to be a nice, upper middle-class boy. A bit like Ben.

We've never had one of them do well before. A public school boy, who's shy, and unconfident, and unassuming. He treats the women politely, doesn't have any romances or sex with them, either.

He's probably got a regular girlfriend on the outside, or better, he's never ever had one. Basically, a male version of Rachel, in other words. Also, he won't be ridiculously rich, like Rex. Punters have difficulty voting for someone who's obviously got more money than them.

Why won't the fortysomething win? Fortysomethings have too many opinions.

It's amazing how many winners don't have opinions on anything. They have opinions on each other, that's okay. But on politics and cultural matters they don't. Cameron the Christian who did, was canny enough to keep it all under wraps. Tommy, Terry, and Lucy all had opinions, and that didn't help them. Doesn't matter if they're right-wing or left-wing, they just annoy people.

It's hard to win Big Brother by annoying people. Much easier to be nice, and end up in a final five with four really annoying people.

So, say Hello to Sebastian, the winner of BB10.

It sounds like his decision. Let him invest in Disney or Hershey's or the Green Bay Packers. Whatever he wants, and he'll probably learn more if he invests in a well-known company rather than a hedge fund.
