Jen fury as Panto co-star Cilla gets VIP treatment

PANTO queen Jennifer Ellison is fuming after being treated like a real-life Cinderella compared to her co-star Cilla Black.

Jen plays the lead in the Liverpool production-but it's fairy godmother Cilla, 65, who's getting the VIP treatment. Oh yes it is!

Panto bosses have put the Blind Date legend up in a £300-A-NIGHT suite at the exclusive Radisson SAS Hotel and laid on a chauffeur-driven car to ferry her to and from the Liverpool Empire Theatre.

But Jen's feeling a bit of a pumpkin because they won't pay for a carriage for her-she has to walk to the theatre from her modest £80-A-NIGHT hotel near the red-light district.

That's despite execs putting on a £1 million sell-out show to mark the end of Liverpool's year as European Capital of Culture.

Cilla also got top slot on the posters-even though Jen, 25, is Cinders. The ex-Brookside star is already reeling after suffering flu and a shoulder injury from a backstage tumble which forced her to miss six shows before Christmas.

A source said: "Jen was annoyed when Cilla got top billing and it left a sour taste when she discovered all the extras she was getting. Jen's supposed to be the star. She knows it's not Cilla being a diva, but she's not pleased with the bosses."

Don't worry Jen, the panto season's finishing. So from tomorrow you'll be able to comfort youself with this thought: It's behind you!

I love Jennifer. She is a beauty and very loyal to her country wanting to participate in British and English productions.

I would love to see her in a movie with Gerard Butler.

I see she has two movies in preproduction. I hope they pan out for her and get the funding.

Being American I do not know Cilla.

I know Jen does do a lot of sexy photo shoots.
I am sure they pay the bills.

I hope to see her in more movies. I loved her in Phantom and The Cottage.

I wouldn't dare speak against Cilla. I do not know her all I want to say is Jen, I love you. I think you are a great talent and I hope you get the career you deserve.

Jen is just another blonde (peroxide & mainly extentions) witha beautiful figure (silicone). What exactly has she done apart from pose in a few mags and discuss her personal life??? Yawn boring...

Cilla at least had a long running successful show, Blind date, she is practically a legend.

We saw the panto yesterday. Cinderella and Buttons had to work very hard. The rest of the cast did their best. Obviously the panto had been written around Cilla....but why did she have to break with good old panto tradition? With her influence she could have let Cinderella come last. Cinderella and the Prince are always the last to come on at finale but Fairy Cilla had to be the last...We as adults enjoyed the show but why not ask the kids......we had a few bored ones behind us Not the best panto we have seen as far as entertaining children but was it Cinderella or Cillarella?

Why doesn't Cilla just go home each night? Oops - silly me - she ceased being a "Scouser" about 40 years ago when left the city she "loves" - just like all the "stars" who profess to love Liverpool - none of them live there anymore!!

jennifer ellison has got more talent than people give her credit for she is the best and she is still young she can do every thing sing dance act the lot and dont look to bad as well she should do a song with cilla what ya think they are both very talented so stop slaging them off good luck to them both

Doesn't surprise me at all, Cilla Black has always been a demanding diva. Don't beleive the TV image she portrays...everything has to be laid on and 'just right' for Ms Black.

I think the article says it all when jennifer is simply described as "ex-brookside..." - when did that show finish? And what has she done since?

Cilla is a down to earth star who has staying power for over forty years - Jennifer, well unless OK and Heat keep her in the "public eye" nothing else will!

Having seen the pantomime on the opening night it is obvious that the whole show has been written around Cilla Black, who is superb in it, she is a ledgend and has appeared in 2 other Empire pantomimes as well as the west end and the Palladium. She is also an icon of the 60s and the music scene as well as being queen of prime time saturday night television for over 20 years.

Carol your posting shows what a true jealous woman you really are. Jennifer has more class in her little toe than cilla has throughout her whole career. I expect you are the sort of person that surrounds yourself with not so pretty friends just so that you can feel comfortable. Make no mistake, Cilla is the star of the show. You may have the leading role, but that's all it is.
