
The defender's admission will also stun Birmingham boss Alex McLeish who hoped he'd sign later this week.
His warning is a clear indication he is prepared to sit it out again this season, unless Celtic agree a golden handshake like Thomas Gravesen's.
Speaking after playing in Guinea's defeat by the Ivory Coast in France in midweek, he said: "I love Celtic. I have been here seven years now and would like to stay even longer.
"I love the fans, the Scottish people and the Scottish league. I love the club - I adore the club.
"I would like to honour my contract until the very end - until the last day, minute, second.
"At the end of the year I will have completed eight years at the club. My wish is to sign another two years at Celtic. But that will be hard if I don't fit into the coach's plans. You never know in life - things can change."
Balde says he will only quit if gaffer Gordon Strachan personally tells him he's finished.
He added: "I am behaving 100 per cent like a professional. I can't do any more than that.
"If they don't need me it's up to them to let me know."
