SHUNSUKE NAKAMURA looks set to tie up a stunning two-year deal with Espanyol this week.

The Celtic playmaker is out of contract at Parkhead and has turned down offers to stay in Scotland.

It looked certain the 30-year-old Japanese ace would return home to sign for former club Yokohama Marinos.

However, Nakamura has grown increasingly irritated by the failure of Yokohama to seal the deal and their demands on him before he had signed.

He has now decided to pledge his future to La Liga outfit Espanyol who are rebuilding after a disappointing season.

The ambitious Spanish outfit's sporting director, Ramon Planes, met with Nakamura's agents and has offered a lucrative two-year deal worth £23,000-a-week with image rights included.

And Espanyol are confident they can pull off a major coup by landing Nakamura this week.
