Crime-buster cops herself a chart hit

JEAN McCLURE SNAPPED UP BY SONY AFTER DJ SUCCESS

BY day, hard-working Jean McClure is a dedicated crime-buster - but by night she's chart topping DJ Jean Honeymoon who's become an online music sensation.

Fingerprint expert Jean has been helping Strathclyde Police crack cases for more than two decades.

But the busy mum-of-two also taught herself to DJ, and after her track Bang Bang was snapped up by Sony it shot straight to the top of the online charts.

Jean, 44, of Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, said: "I love what I do and to get recognition for it is amazing.

"I never thought I'd be in my forties making music. It proves you're never too old to pursue your dreams."

After the success of her debut single in the iTunes electronic chart, she's now set to release an EP.

And Jean - who also performs live with her band Honey - hopes she can inspire other women.

She added: "I've been making music for a long time but it's been difficult to make a name for myself.

"It was such a thrill when I realised the song was No1. I was ecstatic when I heard the news.

"I'm not sure if my daughters think I'm cool, but they were impressed the song made it to iTunes."
