Rikki Loney looks a proper knit

LOOKS like it'll be no sweat-er for Rikki Loney to keep warm this winter judging by his outrageous knitwear.

The wannabe pop sensation's Fair Isle jersey is a world away from the style he sported on X-Factor last night. A pal of the Glasgow singer admitted: "Rikki has always had his trademark eyebrow - but he didn't always have such a cool image.

"He loved wearing that Fair Isle sweater, it was one of his favourites.

"He didn't know much about fashion at the time.

"He is definitely a lot more glamorous now that's he's on the telly. He's started to get really clued up about clothes and has lots of hats and T-shirts."

The snap, which shows Rikki and a pal in equally garish knitwear, was taken last year at a friend's birthday party. And for once he's smiling instead of sobbing - though looking at that jersey, he'd plenty to cry about.

The 22-year-old, who's failed at three previous X Factor auditiions, battled his way into the finals after winning over Cheryl Cole.

But going into last night's show, the bookies had him as evens favourite to be booted out.
