The pair were doing a live pitch-side interview for Radio Scotland when the bird dropped its treat.
Chick and the usually stone-faced manager couldn’t restrain their laughter.
Walter, 60, quipped: “It’s normally ME that people want to throw things at. But it’s like a lot of other people, it doesn’t like you.”
As fans tuned in to hear the lowdown on Rangers’ 2-0 win over Hearts, they heard the pair struggle to continue the interview through their chuckles.
Chick, 55, told us: “I was chatting away to Walter like normal and all of a sudden heard this really loud splat.
“We looked round and a rather large baguette was lying about two feet away from me. I tried to carry on with the interview but it was a really funny moment and I couldn’t stop laughing.
“We both got a fit of the giggles and I couldn’t look Walter in the eye. Every time I did, I started laughing again.
“We were like a pair of silly schoolboys, the tears were running down both of our faces.
“In the end, I had to give up on the interview, even though it was going out live.”
He added: “My phone hasn’t stopped since with people calling who have heard about it.”
