The pasty-faced fiend - serving life for savagely beating Anne Brown and dumping her body in a burn - was snapped on a jaunt away from Cornton Vale nick.
In a chilling twist, the 22-year-old was being taken to a children's hearing to decide the future of her seven-month-old baby girl.
Brown wants keep the tot, who was born behind bars, in jail with her. But last night one furious inmate at the high-security Stirlingshire facility blasted: "She's sick.
"For someone who killed her own mother, it's ironic that she thinks she should get to play mum herself.
"She doesn't deserve to be a mum after what she did.
"There are other prisoners in here who are serving sentences for far less serious crimes yet they're separated from their kids."
Brown - who slaughtered ex-nurse Anne in a row over custody of her two-year-old son - was allowed out of jail last week for the 55-mile trip to Kilmarnock, where the hearing was to be held.
Our investigators watched as the smirking sicko, who was cuffed to a female Reliance guard, sauntered into the offices of East Ayrshire Council, who have jurisdiction over the matter.
But after more than an hour in the building, Brown was led out again. She was scowling ferociously after discovering that the meeting had been cancelled.
Then she was bundled back into the Reliance vehicle for the return journey to Cornton Vale. The two-hour round trip, at taxpayers' expense, required two security guards and a member of the prison staff as well as social workers.
Our source added: "Brown wants to keep the baby with her in prison. But most people are of the opinion that the baby should be looked after elsewhere. After all, what kind of start to life is being brought up behind bars by the kind of woman who could kill her own mum?"
Brown (below right) was three months pregnant when she battered Anne, 51, at her home in Burnhouse, Ayrshire, in October, 2008.
She and her 25-year-old lover John Wilson, 25, then wrapped her in a builder's sack and sleeping bag, bound her with chains and dumped her in nearby Clerkland Burn.
In September, after a six-week trial at the High Court in Glasgow, Brown was jailed for a minimum of 20 years. Former security guard Wilson, who like Brown had been a pupil at Ayrshire's Stewarton Academy, was convicted of culpable homicide and sent down for 12 years.
The Scottish Prison Service said last night: "We can't comment on individual cases."
East Ayrshire Council added: "We're unable to comment on cases involving children."

how stupid can you get?? what kind of life would a child have being brought up in prison, how can a woman who killed her own mother think she could be a mother to this child!!!! if you love your daughter you would have her adopted and give her the future the innocent child deserves, break all ties now and dont have her taunted in the future for having a mother like you.
