WARM WELCOME FOR BLACK WATCH AS THEY RETURN FROM AFGHANISTAN

Slideshow

THERE were huge smiles yesterday as the final group of Black Watch soldiers returned from Afghanistan.

Thrilled family and friends cheered as the 100 heroes from the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Regiment of Scotland, landed in Edinburgh after seven months away from home.

Private David Ure, 17, was one of the youngest Brits fighting in the lawless country. The brave teenager, of Stirling, said: "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time."

The soldiers were last night heading to their base in Fort George, near Inverness.
