Sources close to the Manchester United ace say he's moved to a temporary home nearby in a bid to comfort devastated Hayley Grice.
One insider said: "Hayley has got some really bad memories of the place. She can hardly sleep.
"They put it on the market but it hasn't sold as quickly as they hoped. Hayley didn't care - she just wanted to get away from the place where she was attacked and Darren didn't think twice. He knows what Hayley went through and wants to make sure she feels safe.
"They are staying in a temporary property nearby until they can sell their own."

A gang of masked robbers broke into the couple's home and held pretty mum-of- two Hayley at knife-point in February.
The thugs ripped a £30,000 engagement ring from the terrified 24-year-old's finger before dragging her round the house by the hair to find valuables and escaping with a £170,000 haul. Her mum and the couple's two-year-old twin sons were with her at the time while 25-year-old Fletcher, of Dalkeith, Midlothian, was playing in a Champions League match for Manchester United at Inter Milan.
The rattled couple put the six-bedroom home in Bowdon, Greater Manchester, up for sale in August.

Last night a neighbour added: "I think Darren is long gone. I haven't seen him here for at least six weeks. He's living somewhere else now."
Our source added: "Hayley managed to stay there for a while after the break-in but she felt her home wasn't safe any more."
