THE stroke suffered by Lotto winner Martha Willocks was brought on by scooping the £1.1million jackpot, her daughter said last night.

Scotland's oldest winner was struck down within days of moving from her council house to a swish home seven months after her numbers came up.

And Sandra, 40, who lives with her 77-year-old mum, above, in Houston, Renfrewshire, said: "I think the stress of the move and delayed shock of becoming a millionaire caused the stroke.

"It's a lot to take in for anyone, let alone someone Mum's age." Martha joined other winners at the Lotto's 15th anniversary party at Hampden in Glasgow on Thursday.

The frail pensioner, who now walks with a stick, said: "It's been a bit of a whirlwind seven years since I won."
