NIPPY nag Sugar Free romped to first place in the News of the World's special race at a packed meeting at Ayr yesterday.

And with 6-1 odds, happy punters at the famous track got their just desserts!

The crowd whooped with joy as jockey Wayne Lordan galloped past City Dancer to win the Scottish News Of The World's EBF Land O'Burns Fillies stakes.

Saddley, the 24-year-old Irishman couldn't join the party after scooping the £40,000 prize - because he's racing at Down Royal near Belfast today.

Lordan laughed yesterday: "I'm going straight home!"

Lucky Miss Scotland Katharine Brown was there to lead the celebrations.

The 22-year-old caused a bit of a stirrup in an eye-catching figure-hugging yellow and cream dress topped off by a pretty black and white floral hat.

Katharine gushed: "Ayr Races is always such a good day. Everyone makes an effort to glam up, which is great."

And with Katharine leading the field, the stakes are high!
