IT wasn't a great week for Gordon Brown - but at least Labour cruised the Glasgow North East by-election.
If the emphatic victory by new MP Willie Bain, above, reflects the views of the country as a whole, then Brown might even get a few more nights' sleep before the election next year.
I think that it's more likely to be a judgement on SNP's dim candidate David Kerr, whose final message to voters was that if they wanted change, then they had to "get off their bahookie" and vote.
They did, and kicked Kerr's "bahookie" right off the premises.
Game on.
