She's got her shoulders peeping out of an elegant frock, and in a certain light, she bears more than a passing resemblance to food vamp Nigella Lawson.
SuBo sexy? Why the hell not?
And hey, not only does she look fantastic in her latest photoshoot - she can sing a bit as well.
On yersel' Susan is what I say.
But the stocky wee woman who took the world by storm had better brace herself for the barrage of bile that is about to come her way.
Now that La Boyle has upped sticks and moved to a million pound pad in the big smoke, the knives are out for her up here in the cheap seats.
Because let's face it, nobody does bitter and twisted better than us. We wrote the book.
Headlines are already screaming that the star who knocked them dead on Britain's Got Talent, has turned her back on Scotland.
With a cheery wave and an 'I'll go back to visit, but you have to move on sometime' quip, Susan's already sounding like a diva to the legions who voted for her, marooned here in the driving rain.
She'll fall flat on her face, they're bitching. A one-hit wonder.
Well, it's giving me a good laugh. What did they expect? Did they think Susan was going to record her first CD at the pub in Blackburn, West Lothian, where she used to sing karaoke?
Did they really expect her to be interviewed by the world's media in the back garden of her council house while her neighbour's washing was billowing in the breeze? Come on.
And fair play to her. This is a woman who has lived in the shadows all her life. In the shadow of her brothers and sisters who all left home and got on with their lives, leaving her to look after her elderly mother.
She's lived a sheltered life in the shadows, in a little village where the highlight of her day was morning mass and a bit of charity work for the church. She was bullied by cruel neds who called her Susie Simple.
But deep down, even if she didn't know it, perhaps there's always been a secret longing to be somewhere else.
And suddenly in front of millions across the world, this great voice came bursting out and set her free.
It's brilliant.
The woman who only had her cat Pebbles for company is in a whole new world. She has advisors and assistants who will make sure she is not the figure of fun that people sniggered at.
The difference between Susan and others who have won TV talent shows is that she's such a one-off she might just stay the course.
She's managed to crack America and the CD isn't even out yet!
I'm sure most of the locals in Blackburn support her moving away - given half the chance they would probably do the same thing.
Because, the SuBo Express leaving Blackburn is already travelling at 100mph, and if Susan doesn't grab onto it, six months from now she'll be back in her living room on a dreich afternoon watching Countdown and wondering where it all went wrong.
Yes, the record company is only interested in making money.
But to make money, they have to make her happy, and so far, Susan is relishing every moment of the journey.
So good on her.
If I was her, I'd be doing back-flips up and down Soho.
MUCH as it chokes me to say it, Ulrika's new £11k boobs are top notch.
I'd like to scream shame on her for looking like all she's got to sell is her body. But I can't actually breathe because I'm exercising so much in the forlorn hope I could ever look like that.

Why and how could anyone say anything bad about this utterly beautiful and wonderful person? Her millions of fans around the world are totally behind her and will be forever. The naysayers are wasting their time because we ignore them and please know that Susan has a huge army of fans out there ready to protect her. Glad to read a positive article.

Fabulous article. As far as Brits writing the book on bitter and twisted, so right! That's okay with us American fans though, we'll take her just the way she is without complaint, and no wonder Simon is directing her towards America. We are waiting with open arms as was evidenced by the huge crowd awaiting her at LAX on Saturday.

Boyle's also stated that her departure is related to the absence of her mother. She associates Blackburn with her mother and as it was when her mother was alive. There's no going back to that.
She's certainly not "quitting" Scotland or Blackburn. It's just not her base of operations any more.

Susan would be smart to leave not only Scotland, but the UK for a while.
I know that she has a lot of very loyal fans there, that was obvious during the tour.
But the media was so brutal, that's the whole reason for her breakdown.
I know that I couldn't have handled it.
Unfortunately it doesn't seem like they're going to let up, so I hope she toughens up and will learn to not let it upset her so much.
She needs to consider the source.

Nicely stated.
And it's interesting to note - and it gets lost in the press - it is voice professionals who are going berserk over her. They note that in that difficult line in I Dreamed a Dream - at the end when most singers are exhausted, Boyle's still got gas in the tank. Others not that her pacing is perfect because she spent so much time singing liturgical music. Others, still, note that just physically, she has the build you look for in a singer. She's barrel chested and that accounts for some of the power she can project.
She'll have a career. Hard to say what kind, but she'll certainly have one. And good for her.
She's now the poster girl for Living Well is the Best Revenge.

Finally a newspaper that has some class instead of following in the footsteps of the trashoids that report only negitive demeaning articles about Susan.
''WAY TO GO''
Great article and a pleasure to read

Susan has made it quite clear that she loves her country and that her leaving now is only work-related. Thank you for not following the tabloid schemes of continuing to attack her no matter what she says or does. They should be celebrating her success as a lassie who is putting Scotland in the limelight! Keep going, Susan. The world is at your feet.

Poor Susan, it seems that no matter what she just can't win.
Sometimes people just need to move because of their work, but when Susan does it, it's a crime.
What she ever did to deserve such hostility is beyond me.
First they were sick of hearing about her, and now that her management team is trying to keep things quiet in the UK, they're complaining about that.
She needs to learn to ignore such stupidity, and concentrate on all of the fans that adore her, and there are millions of us.

WOO HOO! I'm standing up and cheering! Finally someone in the UK media that gets it. As an American fan of Miss Boyle I was blown away by the singing talent and then broken hearted over her life story and the Media treatment of her. Miss Boyle's fans are here and watching....We absolutely adore her.
"The SuBo Express leaving Blackburn is already traveling at 100mph". YES IT IS! GO SUSAN AND DON'T LOOK BACK!! But, Watch out for the Tigers and the Sharks.
This fan is anxiously awaiting for the CD and more surprises!

Glad to see an honest and positive article about Susan coming from her homeland. We make no bones about our love for Susan here in the USA, and she will be welcomed with open arms when she finally docks our our shore. She is beautiful and talented and we are glad she is spreading her wings and preparing herself for a career that will embrace the entire world. It's her dream--of course she will pursue it relentlessly. She always has. She's never given up and she won't now. I have no doubt, however, that she will not turn her back on her roots. She will always treat them with love and dedication.

While I agree with and applaud your support for Susan, I must say that I think Susan loves her home and her village of Blackburn. A few bullies do not a whole village make. Sure, one bully can ruin your day, especially if you're a sensitive soul, but it's clear that Susan has many friends and family members in Blackburn who love and support her. I don't think she's "quitting Scotland." She just knows, practically speaking, that to fulfill her destiny as a singer the world loves, she's got to go out to the world for a time.

Clever, not just a positive article, but a clever read.
Maybe Susan will win 'em around in the long run. I'm betting on it.

Thank you so much for this article - supportive, funny and just so right!
She has managed to crack not only America, here in Poland we are watching her every performance and interview and waiting for the CD!
There are of course many fans in UK, US and Canada, but with an international fan site I knew people from France, Holand, Sweden, Japan, Australia, South Africa and other countries in love with Susan and her glorious voice.
I am so happy to see her happy and looking so stunning! Go Susan!

Thanks for the sharp, witty and supportive article. Finally someone in UK has the guts to say something straight forward about the unfair treatment on Ms. Boyle from the tabloids. The world has been watching the behavior of the British media and found out that although British media/press do have the freedom of speech, they sometimes abuse it.

Wonderful article which is spot on. I believe Susan has a great future because of her incredible talent and her great courage in facing any challenge and also because her legions of fans are not going to waver in their support of her. We are with her forever.

Finally, someone has the guts to stand up for Susan. Thank you, thank you. It made my heart glad to read it. A loving USA fan.

Great positive article on Susan. Very realistic. Scotland can be proud of her! She deserves it very much. I'm convinced she's gone make it all the way. I believe she's a survivor and very strong. The "adjust" thing will make her stronger. I believe
she will live her dream very happy. I'm a huge Susanfan in the Nehterlands from the moment I heard her sing.

Thank you NOW for such a positive article on Susan. It was looking like it was only USA mags and newspapers were for Susan. But you are right about the bitching. The British public and newspapers like nothing more than building someone up only to tear them down. We should be celebrating that Susan took her chance to improve her life and is, in her own way, a positive advert for Britain and not just Scotland. Good luck to you Susan and bring on the CD.
