Our Save Our Streets goes back on the road
THE News of the World today relaunches its groundbreaking Save Our Streets campaign - and once again we are taking it into YOUR community.
We are holding a string of roadshows across the country to give readers the chance to have their say in public forums on the crime and violence blighting communities.
The first roadshow will take place in London on June 10 when Justice Minister and former Home Secretary Jack Straw will be on the panel.
He will be joined by Barry Mizen, the father of murdered teenager Jimmy Mizen.
This roadshow is being held at St Thomas More Catholic Comprehensive, Footscray Road, Eltham, SE9 2SU. It's the school that Jimmy - tragically murdered at a bakery near his home the day after his 16th birthday - used to attend in south-east London.
Also on the panel will be Scotland Yard's Acting Deputy Commissioner Tim Godwin. Sky News anchorwoman Kay Burley will chair the debate.
The roadshows will then roll out across the country. And we want YOU to take part.
This year we are visiting Southampton, Ilford, Nottingham, Leeds, Swansea, Brighton and Manchester.
We will be publishing details of the other roadshows in the next few weeks.

I totally agree, Our beat officer told us there is no crime on our estate, and yet we have had youths being bottled in a family park a gang attacking a girl of 17 and put her in hospital. A pregnant women pushed and kicked on the ground. And attacks with BB guns. What planet are these people on. Mother of 4 decent human beings aged from 16 - 8

SIX PEOPLE ARE STABBED TO DEATH EVERY WEEK, THERE WERE 270 MURDERS AND MANSLAUGHTERS
INVOLVING KNIVES IN ENGLAND AND WALES IN THE YEAR ENDING IN MARCH 2008, UP TEN PERCENT.
A FURTHER 55 FATAL STABBING'S WERE REPORTED IN SCOTLAND.
TWO IN FIVE SEX ATTACKERS, ROBBERS AND BURGLARS ARE LET OFF WITH A CAUTION,
AND LET-OFFS FOR VIOLENT CROOKS SOARED BY 82 PERCENT IN FIVE YEARS,
CAUTIONS FOR SEX FIENDS AND ROBBERS ARE UP BY ALMOST A HALF
WHILE THOSE FOR BURGLARS ROSE BY A QUARTER.
SHADOW POLICE REFORM MINISTER, DAVID RUFFLEY, SAID; "SOFT JUSTICE IS AN INSULT TO VICTIMS
AND UNDERMINES CONFIDENCE IN LAW AND ORDER."
NO WORRIES, AS LONG AS NO LAW LORDS, JUDGES, GOVERNMENT MINISTERS, MPs, ROYAL FAMILY MEMBERS
OR ANY OF THEIR LOVED ONES HAVE BEEN THE VICTIMS OF CRIME
NOTHING IS GOING TO CHANGE, IT WILL ONLY GET WORSE.
ONCE BECOMING AN MP, THEY SHOULD BE PREPARED TO LIVE FOR 12-MONTHS ON A COUNCIL ESTATE,
PREFERABLY THE ONES WITH THE HIGHEST CRIME FIGURES,
PERHAPS THEN THEY WOULD GET AN UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT THE ORDINARY LAW ABIDING CITIZENS
HAVE TO PUT UP WITH LIVING IN OUR WORLD, THE REAL WORLD.
