Oddball George, 48, cycled SEVEN MILES in the RAIN to the satellite giant’s HQ in Isleworth, Middlesex on Thursday afternoon on his weird mission to meet Kay.
But the loner was quickly spotted and stopped by two guards who became increasingly concerned when he kept repeating that he was looking for the 46-year-old news anchorwoman.
The security men called the Sky newsroom but George was told he could NOT see Kay.
However he then insisted that what he wanted was a copy of the TV interview she did with him on the day after his sensational release in August.
Once again security staff contacted bosses but George’s request was refused and a stricter order issued to REMOVE him from the premises.
Within minutes of being thrown out of the complex George phoned a friend in panic and admitted: “I think there might be a problem. There might be a bit of trouble.”
Our source revealed: “Barry was very agitated. He told me he’d biked to Sky from his mother’s home in west London. When I asked what the ‘problem’ might be he said, ‘Unwanted media attention’. He then explained how he’d gone there looking for Kay Burley.
“He admitted he didn’t give his name at first. He said security rang the newsroom several times but they told him, ‘No one will speak to you. No one WANTS to speak to you. You have to leave the plant NOW!’
“They then gave him a phone number for the library if he did indeed want a video. But he realises now that it might look a bit odd, to say the least, that he was at Sky looking for Kay Burley.”
She was not at the studios on Thursday. But Kay—who lives in North London with her journalist partner George Pascoe Watson and her teenage son—was shocked when the News of the World told her yesterday of the incident and has now been offered beefed-up security by Sky bosses.
She initially became nervous of George minutes after the interview on August 3 when he started chasing her for her contact details.

Our source told us: “Barry’s had this thing about Kay ever since. That day he kept going up to Kay again and again, asking her for her business card.
"He told her he was going to become a bigger stunt artist than Eddie Kidd and that he wanted to invite her to his first show.
“At first, Kay tried to politely ignore him, pretending she didn’t hear. When he persisted, she tried giving him the brush-off and said she’d give him a card later.
"But then Barry confronted her again, one on one, and was very insistent. Kay was pretty unnerved by this. She pretended to look in her bag for a card and then made an excuse that she didn’t have any with her.
“In the end, a colleague stepped in and rescued her—insisting Barry take one of his cards instead.
“But Barry has kept going on and on about Kay ever since then. He’s really keen to meet her and get hold of the interview tape. He believes he can use it against newspapers.”
Journalists for the News of the World were also with George on the day of the TV interview and witnessed how much he was struck by Kay.
His sister Michelle Diskin added to his excitement, telling him she thought Kay “was really taken” with him.
The Sky drama comes as cops are preparing to quiz George over an attempted rape which took place days after his Old Bailey acquittal.
George travelled to the Isle of Wight for a break following his eight years in jail which was ended by the dramatic retrial verdict. But while he was there a 16-year-old girl was attacked in a caravan at Freshwater, just a few miles fom his hideaway hotel,
Island detectives know George was sentenced to 33 months’ prison in 1982 for the attempted rape of a 20-year-old student and have told Scotland Yard they are keen to question him, among many others.
A Hampshire police spokesman said: “There are a number of people to trace and speak to.”
We can also reveal that George was accused of harassing a 26-year-old woman in London’s Westminster on September 23, less than two weeks ago. But he wasn’t questioned over the allegation after cops investigated and ruled out any crime.
When asked about the attack, George’s spokesman Surjit Singh Clair said: “Barry says it’s absolute nonsense. He was with family and friends throughout. As for being quizzed by the police, he says he has absolutely nothing to fear.”
And the pursuit of Kay Burley? The spokesman added: “I can’t deny that Barry George attended the head office of Sky News. However, I’m not prepared to make any other comment.”
he should rot

I do feel a bit sorry for him. He shouldn't be a 'loner', there should be -as has been suggested- some people to really mind him. To just put him out on the street after those years is almost certainly going to end in disaster. Put him under some sort of care. Kick out mrs-seven-afghan-kids-on-benefits and try to give this man some quality of living. He's proving himself a confused soul more than a monster.

Jodie says "I think he needs psychiatric help".
Wow, good spot Jodie. I mean, who'd have thought it?

This poor man should never have been interviewed on sky tv. He obviously needs help and with the mental age of a child he does not have the savvy to cope with the media and they should be ashamed of themselves. So let them look after their interviewer themselves and perhaps provide some help for George who probably hasnt got a clue what he has done wrong. He reminds me of when i worked with children with mental health issues who responded to a kind word with total adoration.

Barry obviously needs to be watched very closely.

The poor guy is obviously not very well at all, and maybe instead of providing expensive protection for every woman he decides to stalk, why not provide him with a full-time team of minders, who are detailed to gently guide him when he starts this undesirable behaviour? At least that's only one team of minders to pay, not one team per terrified woman he's upset. You never know, after a couple of years of social retraining, he might be able to cope on his own.

They could get an injunction against him. If he breaks that, it's a prison sentence.

The biggest problem here is that any sexual assault (or alleged sexual assault) that takes place anywhere close to George's whereabouts will be pinned on him. should he be falsely accused and wrongly convicted again, this will allow another guilty man to roam the streets to assault again. The police should be 101% sure that they have the right man.

After watching a programme about Jill Dandos murder, I always believed Barry George was innocent and I got the impression that he was quite a 'simple' man however this doesn't mean that every single sexual crime committed has to be pinned on him. I believe he is quite needy and is obviously desperate for company so will cling on to anyone who shows him the slightest interest. It is wrong that he is following Kay Burley but someone needs to be firm with him otherwise he will continue to think he stands a chance.
I don't think the police or the majority of this country will rest until he is back behind bars and probably for a crime he didn't commit again!
