I have always been a staunch supporter of our beloved Monarchy and I always will be - nothing will eradicate my Royalist nature.

All those people who believe HRH The Duchess of Cornwall should not become HM THE Queen are living in some world very different to reality. Camilla should be accepted into society, into royal life and into the Monarchy.

For heaven's sake she is married in law to the future King - that AUTOMATICALLY MAKES HER QUEEN - the law would have to be changed in order for her NOT to be crownded Queen.

Leave Diana to rest in peace.
Accept Charles and Camilla as King and Queen when their time arrives, and don't come up with such stupid things like abolishing the Monarchy all together.

After all we are all human - Camilla and Charles are not perfect - neither was Diana - nobody is. What's in the past should remain exactly there - if you can call yourselves a true and loyal nation to British values then shut up, support Royalism, object Republicanism and move on.

Now, as far as a "Queen Camilla". I think that they are just saying she will become "HRH The Princess Consort", to make all of the British people happy. Although, Charles is secretly planing on making her "HM The Queen", as soon as he becomes the King. And Camilla will be "HM The Dowager Queen", a Queen with NO THRONE! So let her be Queen for five minutes if that is what will make her happy. Then so be it! But if she does become Queen. That will be the end of the Commonwealth. The Australians, the Candians and the Jamaicans will not stand for her to be the new Queen of Great Britian!

As an American, one who has strong English ancestry ties, I would really hate to see Camilla become Queen. Many of us here in America can trace our family roots deep into the generations of English men and women of the past and are proud to have that ancestry. Some things that the English Crown should carry always are morals, values, class, and respect. We loved Diana here and grieved terribly when she died. I just know this woman could never take her place. Never thought too much of Charles either. I hope that England can straighten this thing out without the Crown being tarnished forever.

Already Australia and Canada and a couple of African countries have said that they are leaving the Commonwealth when Elizabeth goes... they know whats comming !
The United Nations wants Great Britain to have a referendum on the monarchy (but strangely silent on the Lisbon Treaty )
Camilla might be "in line" for the throne due to her illegal wedding, supported by a dog end ,soon to be ex government..but there will be a new government soon.
It is clear from this poll (above 75%) the British don't want this old slapper as their Queen... so if she becomes Queen then the public support for the UN resolution will be massive..
Of course they could make Prince William King, and everyone will be happy.... the writting is on the walls......can't say that they weren't warned.
(Maybe this is why Charles is buying up gloucestershire to go with his other aquisitions..Devon and Cornwall !

I don't think the royal advisors realise the extent of the hatred that the public feel for Camilla. Of course the whole world knows that Diana had affairs but only after she had been cast aside by the husband she adored. She made bad choices with men but maybe that was simply because she carried a torch for Charles (and I honestly believe this to be true) and compared other men to him. What do the people woo criticise Diana for this think she should have done once she realised that she had been used by Charles for a brood mare? Maybe you anti Diana people think she should have taken a vow of chastity or entered into a convent. Diana was the wronged woman not Camilla.

Camilla had other men when she was young, James Whittaker royal correspondent once said in a Camilla documentary that she bedhopped in the seventies and was seen in party circles as a good time girl. This is one of the reasons why if Charles had married Camilla he would have had to relinquish his right to the throne as Camilla wasn't a virgin and a virgin was needed to bear the future heirs. People seem to forget that Camilla had a husband and two children while she was having the affair with Charles. In fact Diana, Charles, Camilla, and Andrew was often together at dinner parties so it would seem that Charles and Camilla had no shame whatsoever.

I personally do not want to see this awful dowdy, conniving, woman on the throne of England and as from what we was led to believe at the time of their wedding they had no intention of Camilla having the title of 'Queen' so what has changed?

charles and camilla are both forgetting that. as with many divorced couples . he had a first wife and the mother of William and harry. In many divorce cases, this leads to great harm on the children. Even more so when the mother is pushed out or left out of their lives. This problem does not exist in other cultures when the subsequent other wives are seen and treated as commoner or prostitute. In Italian law they are taxed 75% and not allowed to mix with the children and the first wife takes over the affairs. In this situation Charles does not have to change Camillas place . due to the fact that she was born a commoner. She will not Worry other cultures as she is seen as beneath his first wife as she is not the mother of his children.Charles can take a commoner to the throne room because of this but she will never rule or have any say in his children to do so is an offence against his first wife or relatives .

I am a Canadian monarchist and remain 100% against Camilla becoming Queen of England. Preferably, Queen Elizabeth will weigh the wisdom behind denying Camilla's wish to wear the crown with Prince Charles as King. Hopefully, the Queen will take a strong stand and name Prince William as her heir to the throne. We have all had more than enough of "Charles-and-Camilla-Gate". I can't understand why the Royal Establishment ever allowed Charles to marry Camilla because they knew that the majority of the people objected to it but Charles got his own way thus causing the royal family to go into further decline now he wants to add insult to injury not only to the people but his mother and his sons by demanding that we accept Camilla for our queen. The establishment should take note we have been pushed as far as we are going to go with Charles and Camilla so they should now put their foot down and say no to this spoilt and childish man enough is enough in fact this latest outburst is pushing the people way beyond their endurance.

When will Charles and Camilla just leave us all alone. Yes he married camilla it does not mean we had to like it. Why does he not do the decent thing and leave the throne to William he made his choice.
They set out to hurt Diana who is still much loved. Do they think we will ever forget our beloved Diana even now she is still in our hearts and always will be. My children are now the same ages of William and Harry and they lived through it with me. The history has been passed on to them all the deceit and lies they put on to a young girl in love with her price. William and Harry are a credit to their mother and the british people would love to see the throne go to her sons. Even though we all know that would never happen Charles is to selfish. well more of a question than a comment,, what if prince charles decline becoming king not that would happen but this family has been ruling these countries for over 1500 years right . well would it go to his wife or if he wasn't married would it go to his son's . my question is will they every have a goverment like the united states? or will the united states ever be taken over by a queen or king? i guess i was sleeping in history cause i have alot of question hope u can help !!!!

Camilla will be Queen when her husband becomes King; it would require a special law to make it otherwise. I think she should be Queen. Camilla gives Charles the friendship and love and support he needs to do his current job and the one he will inherit in due course should be outlive his mother, and the accounts I have read indicate she is a warm, friendly, considerate person. Charles' first marriage was a disaster and should never have taken place. I think it is very sad that Diana died before she had the chance to find the sort of happiness Charles now has, but that doesn't mean Charles should be denied his. He is now with the woman he should have married in the first place, and I wish them good luck and happiness. His marriage to Camilla has given us back the happy, laughing Charles we knew from his youth. I'm very disappointed to read all the bitterness in previous posts here.

I think it is a travesty for Charles to even be considering trying to make Camilla queen after the demise of our current monarch, Charles should do the decent thing for once in his life, hang his head in shame and denounce all interest in the throne, It is common knowledge of the affair these two conducted whilst Charles was married to Diana, and we are supposed to accept this marriage wrecker as queen and an aldulterer as head of the Church of England. No I do not want that dog to be Queen - I hate her. Both Charles and the dog have proven to be liars and underhanded cheats and as a result Princess Diana suffered. I do not want either of them to rule MY country. How could we hold our heads up to the rest of the world. The world would think we don't care about honesty and integrity and we damn well do. Charles should abdicate take the old bag with him and clear off.
If it takes the Queen to change the law then change it now - before its too late. So Charles can never have her as our Queen. Change the law so that it can not be changed during Charles' life time.

I think the quicker the British public vote for a Republic the better. It makes me so angry that we should still have to support the Royal Family especially in times of this "credit crunch". I'm sure our taxes could be put to far better use. I just wish Tony Blair hadn't advised them after Diana's death as we wouldn't be having this debate as they would no longer exist! As for Charles and Camilla they should hide themselves in shame they carried out an adulterous affair all the way through both of their marriages. How can they expect or command respect???

It is said in the article that Charles knows in his own mind that his wife should be queen when he ascends to the throne, well in that case why doesn't Charles do the decent thing and relinquish his right to the throne after all he must know that the majority of the people will never accept Camilla as queen. He has thrown tantrum after tantrum to get his own way where Camilla is concerned and the royal establishemnt, Rowan Williams head of the Church of England (who is also unfit to hold the title), and the government have all pandered to this pampered prince. Lord Falconer too ( From Tony Blairs cabinet) gave his blessing and backing to the marriage of Charles and Camilla by saying the marriage would be legal under the human rights act despite an old age law that would have decreed the marriage illegal.

Let us forget what has happened in the past with Camilla. We must think of the future. She does not seem to be Queen material. Her public engagement are few few and she does seem to be very uncomfortable when she does carry them out. Instead of the finest clothes she seem more comfortable in her county gear. I do not think it is a question of should Camilla be Queen, a more pressing question should be Is Charles fit to be King. I am sorry but the answer must be NO. This has nothing to do with his past relationship, it is the fact he is immature, spoilt and interfers with topics he knows nothing about. When anything happens to Queen Elizabeth we must ask the people do we need a royal family in this day and age.

This woman has shown and proven to all, that she is a manipulative cheat and liar...She loves the ultimate power of being able to control this weak excuse of a man, who one day, supposedly will reign as King. As this tacky couple again and again have proved THEY certainly have no respect for the views of the majority of their, (would be) subjects that live in the real world, which is why they should go now.
Remember all the twaddle Charles has given us over the years on how he sees his future role as King. He cares little about duty and even wants to change the oath he must swear to protect our traditions. Such as he wants to be 'Defender of ALL FAITHS', not just C of E. Surely the Pope to name but one religious leader would be upset at that!.
Here in Australia we will become a Republic during this Government's term of office. N.Z. and Canada will follow once that happens. Come on U.K. You know it makes sense. All of you deserve better.

I am an avowed Canadian Monarchist who thinks Charles will make a fine King,(he was simply ahead of the curve on the environment and architecture, and anyone who has heard about his new housing development, PoundBury, would realize that he is a Monarch for the 21st century). If he wants his partner to be Queen, I have no problem with that.
