Justice boss Jack Straw joins Save Our Streets Roadshow

Jack Straw

OUR great Save Our Streets roadshow tour is ready to roll again—and it’s YOUR chance to have a say about the violence wrecking our towns and cities.

Justice Secretary Jack Straw joins Manchester’s new top cop on the panel when our roadshow visits his gun-plagued city later this month.

Chief Constable Peter Fahy succeeded Michael Todd, who died in Snowdonia in March in an apparent suicide. He said: “We can only make the streets safer if police and local people work closely together, so I welcome the opportunity the roadshow provides.”

The public are also invited to join politicians, community leaders and families who have been victims of crime as they seek ways to beat the thugs.

Also on the panel will be Erinma Bell, who has worked to combat violent crime in Manchester ever since a close friend was shot. Alongside her will be ex-gang member Tony Winter, now a street pastor trying to turn youngsters away from crime.

The roadshow starts at 4pm on Sunday, September 21, at the Powerhouse Community Centre in Manchester’s Moss Side. Admission is free but strictly by ticket ONLY.
