Fall girl Amii off to Iraq

A WOMAN cadet at Sandhurst who cheated death when she fell 30 feet from a window at the military academy is to serve in Iraq.

Pretty Amii Calway, 23, a Second Lieutenant, is to go on a six-month tour of Basra in November with the 20th Armoured Brigade. Her mum Julia Salter, 42, said: “Amii loves the Army. It’s her through and through and she’s a real action girl. But I’m dreading her going.”

Amii plunged from a second-storey window at Sandhurst last August breaking her spine in seven places. She spent months in a wheelchair as she recovered.

A fellow cadet was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder but no action was taken. Amii told police she had no recollection of what happened before she fell.
