GLITTER'S PATHETIC DISGUISE

POP pervert Gary Glitter has been spotted shopping for a luxury sports car in an absurd DISGUISE.

The shamed glam rocker donned a ridiculous orange wig and straw hat as he took a stroll near a pal's luxury pad where he has been holed up.

Glitter, 64 - real name Paul Gadd - has even shaved off his distinctive wispy beard in an attempt to hide from the world.

Onlookers in the Hampshire seaside town saw shady Glitter venture out under cover of darkness for a brief drive to the supermarket.

Dressed in a scruffy oversized jumper and torn jeans, the fallen singer sat in the passenger seat of his designer friend's car, his eyes hidden behind dark glasses.

While the pal stocked up on groceries in the store, Glitter remained hunched in the parked car, periodically shielding his face as other customers ventured nearby.

Next stop on their night-time spree was a luxury motor showroom nearby.

This time the convicted sex beast dared to venture from the safety of his car to eye up a £30,000 Mercedes. Confronted by journalists, vile Glitter denied he was the seventies rocker, saying: "I don't know what you're talking about. I don't know who you mean."

Earlier that day Glitter had been spotted in the same ludicrous disguise outside his pal's £2m south coast home.

He has been hiding at the detached property since cops smuggled him out of Heathrow Airport but was clearly unable to resist the temptation to go out in public.

A source said: "Glitter is terrified of being recognised because he knows he's a pariah.

"He's planned his change of look for ages and is so arrogant he was convinced he could outwit everyone."

Glitter was jailed in Britain in 1999 for possessing 4,000 child porn pictures.

He was caged again Vietnam's Thu Doc prison in March 2006 for committing obscene acts with two girls and was recently freed early for good behaviour and deported.

But he staged a four-day "world tour" after feigning illness and refusing to board a jet home to the UK during a stop-over in Thailand. After heading for Hong Kong, Glitter was sent back to Thailand and finally to the UK.

The ex glam-rocker has had to notify cops of his pal's address and he has been ordered to sign on the Sex Offenders' Register.

He must alo alert cops if he wants to change address.
