THE pub boss battered to a pulp by Amy Winehouse's husband today reveals the horrifying injuries he suffered in the brutal attack that wrecked his life.
Breaking his silence, James King also tells how junkie Blake Fielder Civil threatened to have him KIDNAPPED and driven to Spain in the BOOT OF A CAR unless he accepted a £200,000 bribe not to give evidence against him.
Now recovering from a terrifying two-year ordeal-in which he had a GUN held to his head by one of Fielder Civil's henchman-James, 36, stormed: "I hope both Blake and Amy rot. The first time I met him was when his boot was smashing into my face.
"Since then I've been to hell and back-all because he's stupid enough to think he could buy his freedom through his marriage to her and her millions."
And to add insult to serious injuries that left him with METAL PLATES and BOLTS in his head, James reveals how snivelling Fielder Civil, 25, has sent him a grovelling letter of apology from his cell as he awaits sentence after pleading guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm and perverting the course of justice.
"It says, 'I just wanted to apologise again from the bottom of my heart'. I couldn't believe it," said James. "He signed it Blakey, like we're old mates. What planet is he on? He thinks it will get him out of prison."
James was locking up The Macbeth in Hoxton, east London, in June 2006 when he was attacked by Fielder Civil and his pal Michael Brown, 40.
"He went after me because Brown was jealous of me being friendly with his ex," said James. "I was by the door when I was punched in the face and fell to the ground. Kicks and punches rained down." CCTV footage shows smirking Blake kicking him "like a football". He sniggers as his pal yells, 'Let's kill him'. "They were both kicking me in the head over and over," said James. Both men were arrested and charged with GBH. Their victim needed 12 hours of surgery to have his face reconstructed. He had a shattered eye socket and a broken cheek and jaw. "The pain was unbearable," said James. "I couldn't talk for two weeks and had to take liquidised food through a straw."
But his ordeal had only just begun. A month later he was stabbed in the neck outside his pub. "I don't remember the attack," he said. "I just woke up bleeding. Someone wanted me dead."
Terrified James sold his pub and moved to East Sussex. But Fielder Civil gave £40,000 of unsuspecting star Amy's fortune to underworld fixer Anthony Kelly to find James-who he nicknamed "The Squeak"-and force him to withdraw his statement.
Kelly, 25-who has a long list of firearms and robbery convictions-soon arrived at James's door with his minders: "He was very threatening. He told me I wouldn't be giving evidence against Blake.
"He said Blake would pay me to withdraw my statement and I would be flown to Spain before the trial." And if he didn't agree? "Kelly's men are not to be messed with. They said I could be knocked unconscious, blindfolded and locked in the boot of a car if necessary," said James. "But I still wanted to give evidence."
At a later meeting with Kelly, James claims he had a GUN held to his head as the hardman ordered him to record a mobile phone message telling the Crown Prosecution Service he wanted to drop the charges.
"The tip of the gun was inches from me and Kelly's finger was on the trigger. He told me what to do and I did it. I was too frightened to go to the police."
But cops were already onto Fielder Civil's plot and he and Kelly were arrested. Police suspected James was involved and he spent eight months in jail before being cleared last week.
"I've lost my home, a successful business and now I'm sleeping on friends' floors with everything I own in six prison sacks," he said.
"I think Blake and Amy are evil. She may not have been directly involved, but it was everything that goes with her that pushed me to the brink.
"The pair of them have wrecked their lives and now they have ruined mine."
