LOHAN DAD: Lindsay sobbed in my arms like baby

Dad tells of emotional reunion

LIKE father, like daughter... looks like everything is coming up roses for cokehead Lindsay Lohan and her alcoholic ex-con dad Michael.

Our exclusive picture shows them sniffing flowers (nice change from cocaine) as they stroll in the garden of a rehab centre during an emotional reunion this week.

And Michael has told the News of the World about the moment he saw his daughter again for the first time in three years.

He smiled: "As soon as I arrived Lindsay rushed into my arms, then curled up on my lap and sobbed like a baby."

Evil

Then, between snivels, she promised to QUIT films, LEAVE Hollywood and DUMP bad boy lover Calum Best in a desperate bid to stay clean.

And if there's a smell of bull**** in the air, that could be because she's even been clearing up horse DUNG as part of her recovery.

Michael, who wears a tagging device similar to that famously worn by his daughter, revealed: "When we finally came face to face we just clung on to each other and did not stop crying for at least half an hour.

"Lindsay said, 'Daddy, I have done some terrible things and been addicted to drugs but please believe me I will never do drugs again.

"She said she does not want to live in Hollywood as that is where this evil in her life happens.

"She said, 'I hate Hollywood and I don't want to work there. I need a break and I am moving away'."

Vowing to steer clear of sex and drug addict Calum, Lindsay added: "I will stop hanging round with people who are bad for me'."

Mean Girls star Lindsay, 21, was admitted to rehab in July for the third time this year after being caught with cocaine while drink driving. She was sentenced to a day in jail and ten days' community service.

Just two months earlier she faced a similar charge when, high on booze, she lost control of her Mercedes and crashed it on the way home from a wild night of partying.

In recent months we also revealed disturbing images of Lindsay playing a dangerous game with knives and pictures of her snorting cocaine in the toilet of a Hollywood hotel.

Her dad, a recovering alcoholic and drug user who was recently released from a 20-month stretch for drink driving, revealed how, during their visit at the Cirque Lodge rehab centre in Utah, his daughter told him: "I'm just like you, Daddy."

He said: "As much as it pains me to say it, she is right. Both Lindsay and I have addictive personalities and turn to drugs in times of crisis.

"I have been in prison and am a recovering addict so I know more than anyone what she's going through. But hopefully both of us now have finally turned our lives around for the better."

Michael, 47, is divorced from Lindsay's mum Dina and his daughter blames the break-up for sending her off the rails.

Michael revealed: "Lindsay said since me and her mum had split her life had just not been the same. My heart ached and I was racked with guilt when she said, 'I just wanted my Mummy and Daddy back'.

"She was about 17 when she started to turn to drugs and for the past four years Lindsay has become more and more reliant on them.

"She said the pain of our separation led her to do drugs and alcohol because she just wanted to numb the pain and drown her sorrows."

Wasted

Lindsay has taken up a raft of new hobbies to keep her mind off the drugs and booze. Michael said: "Lindsay laughed with excitement as she told me how she now spends her days. She spends hours writing songs about all she has been through.

"When she is not writing, she helps look after the horses stabled nearby. Every day she helps muck them out, feed them and ride them.

"She has taken up gardening and loved showing me the roses she helps look after. These are things normal people take for granted, but things which Lindsay has not done for a long time because she has been wasted on drugs. I have seriously not seen her this happy in years."

Her rehab programme ends in a few weeks, but Lindsay may extend her stay. Michael said: "She wants to make absolutely certain she can cope on her own in the outside world."

And when she does leave, she will head for the east coast, where her family are, and NOT to Los Angeles. Michael said: "You only have to look at the poor state Britney Spears is in at the moment to know living in Hollywood is not good for these young girls.

"Lindsay and I both pray Britney can turn her life around too. For Lindsay the only way to do that is to take a break. So after she has honoured her existing film commitments that will be it. She just wants to stop making movies for the time being and be near her family.

"Then she may find the peace she has been looking for. I am so proud of her." Michael added: "Visiting Lindsay in rehab was one of the most emotional days of my life. She assured me she has given drugs up for good.

"And when I looked into her eyes I 100 per cent believed her."
