I can reveal the full truth of why GIRLS ALOUD'S NADINE Coyled it off with boyfriend JESSE METCALFE.

She phoned him a WEEK ago to give him the elbow because she was fed up of his jealous fits.

I'm told that had led to a string of furious bust-ups as Jesse couldn't handle the fact that popstar Nadine was more famous than him.

It had nothing to do with snaps this week of the Desperate Housewives star holding hands with a mystery woman.

A source from Jesse's camp told me: "Nadine dumped Jesse because he's a complete control freak. She was fed up of his jealous rages and after thinking about it long and hard decided to get rid of him.

"She really loved Jesse, but his rages got worse. He would cause huge rows and Nadine would back down, trying to make a joke of it at first.

"But it was constant and in the end drove a wedge between them."

The couple had dated for 15 months and Nadine, 21, was set to move to America to be with Jesse.

She loyally promised to stick by him when he was in rehab for booze problems but decided she couldn't put up with his jealousy any longer.

I'm told: "It was out of control. They would go out clubbing and Jesse would go ballistic if he saw Nadine dancing with another man-even if he was gay!"

My source went on: "One of the turning points was when they were in LA and a British fan ran up to Nadine and asked for her autograph.

"Jesse hit the roof and shouted, 'Why is she asking for your autograph? You haven't even released a single here.' Nadine couldn't believe it. She did everything for him but he was an idiot.

"You can't blame Nadine. He pushed her and pushed her." The Girls Aloud beauty-now in London filming the new St Trinian's movie with the band-met 28-year-old Jesse in Sydney while they were touring Oz.
