ROYAL girlfriend Kate Middleton wants to follow in the footsteps of the original party princess - Wills' Auntie Margaret.
No, she's not after a string of hot fellas, 60-a-day cig habit or boozy bashes.
She's got her heart set on a home in Mustique - Margaret's favourite retreat.
But Kate's plan to get Wills to splash his cash on a lovenest are un- likely to go down well with his gran.
The Queen is understood to have told the Royals not to flaunt their wealth while the rest of Britain is suffering economically.
A source told us: "Kate's said she would love a place there because she and William could escape whenever they wanted. It is idyllic.
"But I am not sure it would look that good for William, especially as us mere mortals are still suffering."
Kate has just returned from a holiday on the West Indies isle with her mum, dad, brother and sister.
It is the second holiday in six weeks for the Middletons - who rented Prince Charles's Restormel Manor in Cornwall at Christmas. Kate works for her parents' firm Party Pieces as its website design boss and business manager.
Our source said: "People are joking that the Middletons are more royal than the royals. Their choice of holidays certainly has a royal feel about them. The party-supply sector must be booming."
Kate has been to Mustique twice with Wills - in 2009 and 2006. Then, she was snapped showing off her trim figure in a white bikini as they tanned themselves on a yacht.
Princess Margaret frequently caused a sensation when she posed in swimwear on the beautiful isle in the 70s with her jet-set pals.
But it was also where she suffered her 1998 stroke and badly scalded her feet in bathwater.
Her Mustique villa was sold before her death in 2002.

For the manager at a business, Kate sure spends a lot of time away from work. Shouldn't she be chained to her work desk sixty plus hours a week like every other manager I've met? How does she have all of this time on her handsto go shopping, clubbing, and house hunting?

If William will marry Kate the marriage will not last, he should wait until is 30 or 31 years old.
There is to much difference between the two, the background is very important and if they will marry it will end with a divorce, I can promise this to you all. Prince Charles chose a young Lady of noble birth so william should do the same.

I wonder what the Queen thinks about this relationship. No doubt from 'Royal Sources', 'Close-Sources', she is 'delighted'..........but I wonder what the truth is? Prince Charles and The Duchess Of Cornwall obviously are enraptured with Kate Middleton. Kate Middleton adapts herself to fit in with every Royal-occasion, until the day that ring gets on her finger that is. She is pulling the wool over everyones eyes except 'outsiders' who are just far back enough to see. Diana didn't make pronouncements of wanting holiday-homes and also she didn't have a craving for holidays every five-minutes, before Prince Charles married her. Prince William needs to look towards his Mother and think how she would feel about all this, obviously any guidance Prince William is being given is misguided. He is still too young to have to marry. He doesn't owe Kate Middleton nor the Middleton Family anything. Marrying doesn't have a timer on it just because of the length of time you have been seeing someone on and off. A Royal-Wedding isn't a 'payoff'.
