Prime Minister Gordon Brown is planning to reward the Defence Minister with a seat in the Upper House after he quit David Cameron's Tory Party.
Davies, MP for Grantham and Stamford, has been careful not to say if he will stand at the next General Election. As a Tory, his majority was 7,445.
A Downing Street insider said: "Gordon always rewards loyalty and Quentin has been a good asset since he crossed the floor and joined us in 2007."

Didn't they used to shoot traitors? How appalling that someone with no scruples should get a peerage. Why do we call ourselves a democracy when the upper house is full of Party cronies?
