We've been flooded with messages of love and support from the wives, husbands and children of our brave heroes - along with hundreds of grateful readers.
Forces' pin-up Gemma Atkinson led the tributes to our heroes fighting terrorism overseas.
She told us: "I've two close friends serving in Iraq and Afghanistan so I know a little of what the troops and their families at home are going through. It makes me proud to be British."
So before you tuck into your turkey, spare a thought for the men and women risking their lives far from home this Christmas.
You can send your thoughts, prayers and good wishes - and read those left by thousands of others - using the Comments box below.
Let's raise a glass to them all - and wish them a safe and speedy return home once their vital job is done.

TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS,
HE LIVED ALL ALONE,
IN A ONE BEDROOM HOUSE MADE OF
PLASTER AND STONE.
I HAD COME DOWN THE CHIMNEY
WITH PRESENTS TO GIVE,
AND TO SEE JUST WHO
IN THIS HOME DID LIVE.
I LOOKED ALL ABOUT,
A STRANGE SIGHT I DID SEE,
NO TINSEL, NO PRESENTS,
NOT EVEN A TREE.
NO STOCKING BY MANTLE,
JUST BOOTS FILLED WITH SAND,
ON THE WALL HUNG PICTURES
OF FAR DISTANT LANDS.
WITH MEDALS AND BADGES,
AWARDS OF ALL KINDS,
A SOBER THOUGHT
CAME THROUGH MY MIND.
FOR THIS HOUSE WAS DIFFERENT,
IT WAS DARK AND DREARY,
I FOUND THE HOME OF A SOLDIER,
ONCE I COULD SEE CLEARLY.
THE SOLDIER LAY SLEEPING,
SILENT, ALONE,
CURLED UP ON THE FLOOR
IN THIS ONE BEDROOM HOME.
THE FACE WAS SO GENTLE,
THE ROOM IN SUCH DISORDER,
NOT HOW I PICTURED
A UNITED STATES SOLDIER.
WAS THIS THE HERO
OF WHOM I'D JUST READ?
CURLED UP ON A PONCHO,
THE FLOOR FOR A BED?
I REALIZED THE FAMILIES
THAT I SAW THIS NIGHT,
OWED THEIR LIVES TO THESE SOLDIERS
WHO WERE WILLING TO FIGHT.
SOON ROUND THE WORLD,
THE CHILDREN WOULD PLAY,
AND GROWNUPS WOULD CELEBRATE
A BRIGHT CHRISTMAS DAY.
THEY ALL ENJOYED FREEDOM
EACH MONTH OF THE YEAR,
BECAUSE OF THE SOLDIERS,
LIKE THE ONE LYING HERE.
I COULDN'T HELP WONDER
HOW MANY LAY ALONE,
ON A COLD CHRISTMAS EVE
IN A LAND FAR FROM HOME.
THE VERY THOUGHT
BROUGHT A TEAR TO MY EYE,
I DROPPED TO MY KNEES
AND STARTED TO CRY
keep ur headz high.... cum home safe

Its lovely to be thinking of our troops who do an outstanding job especially at this time of year, but just remember, when you send parcels addressed to a soldier or an airman etc you are clogging up the forces mail system which in turn is delaying any parcels sent out to the guys and girls by there nearest and dearest.

I know it won't be a Merry Christmas or a Happy one! So I won't state the bloody obvious.
Take care everyone and remember that whoever or whatever job you are doing throughout any of the services, at Christmas, that loved ones and those who don't even know you are thinking of you.......

As usual they don't moan about the job they all do they just get on with it, lets support the troops whilst they're out there. They are all hero's and they deserve alot better treatment when they come home. They certainly make me proud to be british!!! great job everybody.

My Brit Brothers In Arms,
I have nothing but love, loyalty and respect for you as my fellow guardians of FREEDOM. I am a former veteran of the USN ('81-'85) and have served along side the RN (HOO YA ANZUS!) with pride!
Let us remember what we and our ancestors have fought for and continue to do so.
My thoughts are with all of our vets and their sacrifices.
Wear the Poppie with PRIDE.
