Thanks to the recession the shops - where everything costs £1 - are booming, even taking up 30 redundant Woolworths stores.
Top ribbon-cutting earners are Antony Cotton - who plays gay knicker stitcher Sean - and Andy Whyment - alias dozy Kirk. They opened 16 stores apiece, trousering £48,000 each PLUS travel and hotel expenses.
Not surprisingly Antony declared: "I've had an absolute ball!" His bank manager's quite pleased too. So are TV co-stars Katherine Kelly (Becky) and Jennie McAlpine (Fiz). They've all cashed in on the action.
A Poundland spokeswoman told us: "Our decision to use the celebrities has proved a huge success, resulting in a significant rise in footfall figures."
In Street speak that means the fans love it and turn out in thousands!
