He refused to say if the famous rant by TV's grumpy Jeremy Paxman on the state of M&S pants was in there - but admitted he is often tempted to tell whining customers to "S**off!"
"We do keep a nutters file," 60-year-old Rose tells Kirsty Young on BBC Radio 4's Desert Island Discs today at 11.15am. "It's letters that are either incredibly rude, funny or bonkers.
"When I'm feeling really down I bring it out and have a laugh."
Although he has now hired Morrisons chief Marc Bolland to replace him, Rose has vowed NEVER to retire.
"I see myself dropping dead on the job," he admitted - then, as one of his favourite records, he chose The Smiths' Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now.
