Elizabeth Chant, 59, called on the Prime Minister to pull all British troops out of Afghanistan.
Speaking at her home in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, Elizabeth said: "Gordon Brown has allowed our men to stay over there with no proper support and the wrong equipment. He is spineless and should resign. His mistakes are costing lives every day."
Dad-of-three Darren, 40, who helped train Princes William and Harry at Sandhurst, had told his mum the war was "unwinnable". She said: "He saidthe Taliban were like rats - the more you kill, the more they keep coming."
The British death toll in the war stands at 230. Yesterday former team-mates of Darren - who played for Petersfield Town in the Wessex League - paraded his shirt before their match and held a minute's silence.
