As King, 29, began an 18-month jail sentence for groping 20-year-old student Emily Carr and punching her in the face, she told for the first time how the £35,000-a-week striker taunted and floored her in the vicious nightclub attack.
Urging all Britain to look at her horrifying injuries in pictures taken just minutes after he broke her nose and split her lip, she sobbed:
"It was like having a brick smashed in your face. King hit me just like a professional boxer. He's a disgrace and should never be allowed on a football pitch again."

King's pretty young victim wept and shuddered as she recalled the horrific moment he punched her full in the face and sent her crashing to the nightclub floor.
Student Emily bravely waived her right to anonymity to reveal the full chilling story of how the Wigan Athletic star lashed out after sneering: "I'm a multi millionaire, love. . . you're not even in my league!"
As he started an 18-month jail term for groping and attacking her, Emily, 20, exclusively told the News of the World: "King thought he was Mr Big, but he's just a thug with a gold card."
Our shock pictures reveal the awful aftermath of the beating that left Emily spattered head to toe in blood, her teeth forced through her lip and her nose badly broken - disfigured for life.
She added: "King's defence moaned that the sentence would lose him £1 million in earnings - but I've lost my FACE. He's not fit ever to play for any team again."
Emily, just 5ft tall, decided to speak out to heap shame on 6ft 1in Jamaican international King - who is still protesting his innocence - and ensure the world sees him for the thug he is.
In a moving interview she told how the 29-year-old Premier League player:
Shy Emily, in her last year studying politics at Surrey's Kingston University, clutched her late mum's engagement ring for comfort as she recalled her night of horror last December 6.
She was out with friends at the Soho Revue Club in London's West End. King was there celebrating news that wife Julie was expecting his third child. "I only had two or three drinks before it happened, I certainly wasn't drunk," said Emily.
"When I first saw King I didn't know who he was but my friend Tim told me. I support Arsenal but don't even know the names of our own players.
"Then I was stood talking to my friends Nikki and Tim and suddenly felt someone grab my bum and grope me from behind. I could feel it was a man's hand.
"It was disgusting, a violation. It wasn't just a little pinch it was a squeeze done in a sexual way. I was really offended. I swung round to see King there smirking, looking me up and down and leering. He was tall, in a tight-fitting top and seemed quite muscular. But he was acting like a dirty pervert. I looked him in the eye and slowly told him, 'Don't do that! Don't touch me!' "
Hitting back at claims that she was dressed provacatively, Emily told us: "I was in a grey strapless woollen dress. You couldn't describe it as revealing, it was very conservative.
"But King was stood there looking me up and down like I was a piece of meat. As he loomed over me sniggering I caught glimpses of his gold tooth as the lights hit it.
"Ten minutes later King came and stood on my right, really close. I was keeping an eye on him and being cautious. He was just inches away and right in my personal space. I saw him reach over and stroke my friends Sinead and Nikki on the neck. I saw Sinead go, 'Don't touch! Hands off!' His eyes were all over the place and he seemed quite drunk. He turned his attention back to me, gave me a dirty look and shouted, 'Get this girl away from me!'

"He then dropped his head down into my face and said, 'You're not even in my league love, not even in my league.' He was trying to belittle me and mock me."
Wiping away tears, Emily added: "I now know I'm not in his league, I'm well ABOVE it. But I stood my ground and calmly said, 'You're not part of this table, could you please leave?'
"King then bragged, 'I'm a multi millionaire, love' - loud enough above the music for people to hear. That's when my friend Ryan came to my aid and told him firmly but politely, 'Come on mate, leave it. She's not interested.'
"But King wouldn't stop. He started pushing my head, poking and prodding me in the temple. Ryan again asked him not to touch me but King goaded him more by pulling my hair.
"He was toying and teasing me, trying to spark a reaction from the boys.

"Then he grabbed my wrist and one of my girl friends leaned over to pull his arm off and he let go. I went to pull my dress up and as I looked up again that's when he punched me.
"I never saw his hand, it came completely out of the blue. There was no warning. I was knocked off my feet.
"I fell backwards and Tim caught me. It was a blur but luckily I didn't lose consciousness. I felt all this warm liquid trickle down my face. I brought my hands up and realised it was blood. It wouldn't stop.
"Blood was pouring out of my lip where my teeth went through, and my nose was broken. I could taste the blood everywhere, in my mouth and nose. I've never been punched before. It was like being hit with a brick in the face. My friend who saw it said King took a step back and delivered the punch like a boxer in the ring - with full force.
"I know it sounds ridiculous but I was so in shock that all I could think about was that I was getting blood on my new Marc Jacobs handbag. I kept repeating, 'Where's my bag? Somebody wipe my bag!'

"It was only when I saw myself later I realised how serious it was. This sticky warm blood was all over my hands going crusty, and all over my pals Nikki and Sinead too.
"My grey dress had gone claret. I was still very shocked, my face was huge, my lip blown up, my cheek swollen and my nose on one side."
To add insult to injury the police were not alerted right away and it was left to Emily's pal Sinead to call for help more than half an hour after the beating. Emily said: "I was taken into a back room where a man who worked for the club told me that Marlon King was a regular who spends lots of money.
"He had the cheek to tell me, 'King is a really nice guy.' I can't believe he stood there seeing me covered in blood and said that."
While Emily waited for the police King sent a friend in to to see her.
"In walked this big beefy man," she said. "The door was guarded by two bouncers but he just sauntered in unchallenged. He told me, 'I'm here on behalf of Marlon King to apologise for what just happened.'
"But I was shocked at what came out of his mouth next. He looked down at me and said, 'You must have done something to provoke it.'
" I couldn't believe it. I felt intimidated, alone and frightened all over again. I just said, 'Get out! Get out!' I'm only a small girl, how an earth could I have provoked King. It's ridiculous.
"Now my mouth was hurting so much it was hard to talk. The numbness I felt from shock was beginning to wear off and now I could feel pain - a throbbing in my lip, cheek, nose and creeping across my face.
"Finally the police arrived and I was taken to hospital. My brother is a serving officer with the Met and came rushing to see me. I just broke down and cried.
"By then my face was so swollen that the doctors couldn't tell what was broken."
Before the attack Emily had perfect facial features with a beautiful slender nose. But in the weeks after the attack she was told cowardly King had damaged it forever. "A surgeon said all the bones in my nose had been smashed to the left," said Emily. "When I look in the mirror or see photos of myself now I can see this big bulge.
"And every time I see my disfigured face it's a permanent reminder of HIM. I will never be able to forget the attack. I don't want to sound vain but I've lost my old face.
"I couldn't eat during the trial and I've lost weight. I've also suffered with depression. With one punch he has changed my life for ever."
Emily's ordeal was prolonged when King was arrested and questioned but refused to admit the attack. And this week she had to relive the whole nightmare again before a packed court. "Every day I went to court I felt sick and was retching," she said. "It was horrible.
"His staring eyes in the dock were cold and showed not a bit of remorse. That told me everything. He just didn't care.
"King didn't need to put us through that trial. It was cruel.
"When the guilty verdict came in I looked over at his wife Julie with her head in her hands and thought, 'Now you KNOW what he's done, even if you don't want to believe it.' I feel sorry for her."
When Julie King was asked yesterday if she had ever been the victim of domestic abuse she insisted: "Never!"
But her spokesman added that she would not be giving interviews until she sees what comes out about her husband over the next few days.
Although Wigan have sacked King and his behaviour has been widely condemned, Emily is angry there's no universal cry for him to be banned from the game for life.
"I've a cousin who, like thousands of youngsters, looks up to footballers as role models," she said. "King should never be allowed on the pitch again.
"I believe in giving people a second chance but King has 13 previous convictions and has used up all his chances."
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, disagrees. He said: "When he has paid his sentence, of course you would consider signing someone like that. Otherwise you would never forgive anybody anything."
But Emily hit back: "Would a manager like Wenger be saying that and proposing to pay such a thug massive amounts of money every week if HIS daughter was attacked?
"It sets a bad precedent if you fail your fans and endorse these brutes."

Oh, and another thing, if that were my husband (thank God he is'nt) I would drop him solid and take him to the cleaners. Like pronto and with no hesitation.
By dee.. Posted November 8 2009 at 12:00 AM.
God, I am amazed at some comments here. She should have walked away, etc. HE bashed her, HE chose to assault a vulnerable female in a club. End of...and now he is in jail for it.
By dee.. Posted November 7 2009 at 11:58 PM.
He's garbage. Worse than garbage. A monster.
This man pulled back and hit her with every intention of doing major damage to this girl, all because his Ego was wounded. He was rejected despite his fame, money and he wanted to illicit pain and show her. Well, I am glad he is in jail.
Too bad he didn't get more time. He's a little wimp bully, in my opinion.
I stopped going to clubs long ago, because I once told a man politely I did not want to dance at the moment, because I was with my friends about to have dinner. This was a posh club, I didn't expect what happened next, the man walked up to me closer as I was about to sit down at my table with my friends and "headbutted me" on my eye. My eye swelled up like a big apple immediately and blood oozed out. My friends packed me in ice and someone took me home. I could not press charges becuase I had no idea who the man was. He was obviously a wacko, but from that day on, I never went to pubs, clubs or nightclubs. It's just not worth it, taking into consideration what one might run into, at these places, these days.
I am glad this girl put this bully ,attacker behind bars where he belongs. He is a monster. imo

This creep was punching above his weight with Emily. You can put a designer suit on a THUG but its still a THUG.
By Angie.. Posted November 4 2009 at 2:27 PM.
Please stop calling King an animal, it really gets my goat! I don't know any animals that punch and grope people! He is lower than an animal, the word animal is too good for him. His wife is an idiot as well, there is no way this is the first time he has hit a woman.
By Jacqueline.. Posted November 4 2009 at 9:08 AM.
I went to school with this girl and she did not deserve this attack from this cowardly, aggressive man. He should never be allowed on the football pitch again.
By anon.. Posted November 3 2009 at 11:25 PM.
I am so concern and worried after reading more posted comments on another websites about these aggressive thug and how some people do not understand the damage he caused to her and family.
There are strong emotions when I write about him, I dont feel sorry at all for him at all. He is away from the public and hopefully will remain away for a good time.
There are no excuses for violence against women and the message has been sent.
It is hard to believe some posted comments are totally blinded and arrogant on his defense. Everyone should understand that a violent men hitting a vulnerable women, it's a coward. For me, he is not a man, but a frustrated individual with no boundaries or self esteem in life.
By Eric.. Posted November 3 2009 at 8:11 PM.
Violence in any form is simply not exceptable and more so when woman are involved, This Animal should have the book thrown at him.
Well done Emily for standing up and reporting this Animal you are a strong, beautiful young lady.

Marlon King??? Who??? oh yeah, that big, tall, fit, muscular, wealthy footballer - the one who punched that 5' girls nose? yeah, that's him, a man????...................He's a nonentity: A person regarded as being of no importance or significance. Well done Emily for speaking up.
By Timogen.. Posted November 3 2009 at 3:51 PM.
this is a horrible story
By Jucca.. Posted November 2 2009 at 3:25 PM.
Taylor and Wenger need to take a good look at themselves to state that this Thug be given another chance. How any person can condone this brutal assault is shocking
By James.. Posted November 2 2009 at 2:39 PM.
The rich and arrogant need to be reminded that money doesnt always give you the right to do whatever disgusting urges you fancy acting out and buy you an escape route out of the back door unfortunately it happens sometimes, but fortunately, sometimes, theres a 5ft women who cant be bullied.
Nasty, nasty man. Well done Emily.

what an animal and 18 months sentence is a disgrace. his poor wife and children and as for the victim i feel very sorry for her.
and the idiots who say he is a nice guy you should be locked up with him and learn some common sense.
By victoria.. Posted November 2 2009 at 7:54 AM.
I really feel so sorry for his wife having to face this shameful situation... NOW the youngster girl you met in a pub or disco has fame and you got jail...SATISFIED IN THE NAME OF SPORTS mate?!
By SunshinningTC.. Posted November 2 2009 at 2:56 AM.
I hope she sues him in civil court and is awarded millions.....maybe then this thug would care!
By Ella Ray.. Posted November 2 2009 at 2:34 AM.
what king has done is a disgrace and he deserved a longer sentence men who hit women are not men they are cowards and bring shame on the male gender
i agree he should not play again but as they say some wteam will sign him there should be a law passed that says if any professianal sports men or women are convicted of these kind of charges they should be banned for life if it was a normal working man the criminal record would stop him from getting a job
By paul c .. Posted November 2 2009 at 2:21 AM.
Marlon King!
Maybe his name coupled with his undeserved staus has deluded his self worth.
This man due to his victims courage has been exposed for what he is; a parasite living off the vast amounts off money being poured into the game by the TV and advertising companies.
His sentence is well deserved, however final justice will only be done when this guy (if there is a concious lurking in there somewhere)is in his 40's or 50's, is skint, is a nobody and is looking back thinking what a ***** I was.
By John Paulo.. Posted November 2 2009 at 1:42 AM.
I am just shocked at what I have a read. I wish Emily nothing but the best in life for ever even though she deserves more for going through this ordeal. Sometime it is hard to keep your chin up but speaking out like this she should hold her head high!
By Nath.. Posted November 2 2009 at 1:34 AM.
Before I get slated here first let me point out what Marlon King has done is disgraceful. But, when he has served his sentence he should be allowed to carry on with his life/career/work as he wants. If this was, say, a fully qualified plumber who carried out this cowardly attack, would people want him not to work as a plumber when he is released? I know footballers are role models but like I say, when he has served his sentence for this crime he has committed he is then free to go about his life and job as he pleases and as he is a professional footballer, one can only assume that is exactly what he will be doing. Look at Lee Hughes, there were clubs in contact with him months before he was released so he could keep himself fit ready to be signed when he came out. The reason there is so much outrage behind this is the vast amounts of money this thug can still earn when he is out, not to mention the obscene amounts this prat has already earned. Just think what jobs 90% of footballers would have if they never made it as professionals!
By Matt.. Posted November 2 2009 at 12:49 AM.
horrible man, this kind of scum would be lock away for much longer.
He disgrace a wonderful game
By Jing.. Posted November 2 2009 at 12:42 AM.
If he had committed this attack in the USA, his millions and his pants would have been sued off him in civil court.
By Jan Bos.. Posted November 2 2009 at 12:38 AM.
He is lucky not to live in Russia. In my country he wouldn't have a chance to appear in court but would find his place in a "better world". 18 months? You seriously call this justice? Laughing stock! Send him over to Russian prison!
By Silverov.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:26 PM.
Marian: Your comment is so stupid it's incredible. Wenger should be sacked for making this comment? You don't even know what question he was given. Educate yourself.
By Alexander.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:21 PM.
Well firstly, it takes one hell courage to reconstruct all those awful memories - my heart goes out to you.
I'm a believer in anybody being allowed a second chance, but where this paricular scenario is concerned, that nasty piece of work, shouldn't be allowed at all to play at professional level.
I can't even believe his wife's falling for all this mistaken identity nonsense - the man has some deep issues.....
Well, women, please don't tar us all with the same brush, some of us out there do have respect for the opposite sex.
By Nil.. Posted November 1 2009 at 10:53 PM.
I have every sympathy for the girl. However, revealing her true identity will have no impact whatsoever on whether King plays for another football club.
Once he's served his time, no court in the land would uphold a ban preventing him from plying his trade as a footballer.
And trust me on this, Arsene Wenger won't be signing him.
By ifthecapfits.. Posted November 1 2009 at 10:11 PM.
Well isn't Mr King the big man....takes real courage to hit a lady. But he'll be making lots of new 'friends' in prison. But to give some defence of footballers, we shouldn't tar them all with the same brush, a lot of them are good lads wh spend time in the community, inevitably in any walk of life there are scum like King who damage the reputation of them all.
Emily still looks very pretty to me.....
By Bossman.. Posted November 1 2009 at 9:58 PM.
Do you really think Wenger had access to all the information about this case?
He was asked a question at a press conference and answered it with the information he had.
He was not part of the Jury and does not have access to all the information on the case.
I very much doubt if he had he would be saying the same thing.
The sensible thing probably would have been to decline to comment.
By Tomz.. Posted November 1 2009 at 9:02 PM.
King? well I am sorry for what happened to that pretty Angel but next time girl you try and stay away when you notice dirty look on any man no matter the size because next time it might be one of your eyes if not both
By Jay.. Posted November 1 2009 at 7:55 PM.
Marlon King is overpaid for his level of talent, and because of it he thinks he is above the law. Many brave soldiers (heroes) have died in Afganistan earning less in a year than Marlon King earns in a week. You tell me if that is real justice. Emily, well done for standing up to this bully. Do not expect an apology from Marlon all he was concerned about was the loss of £1 million earnings. What a nice chap.
By Ian .. Posted November 1 2009 at 9:11 PM.
Well he's in prison now. When he comes out then he can go back to what he does best.
There are alot of morons on here, to basically put it.
By peace.. Posted November 1 2009 at 9:07 PM.
i remember hearing sir alan sugar saying a lot of present day footballers if they were not playing football they would be wearing hoods and mugging people . king barton hughes the list goes on and on SCUM
By dave fox.. Posted November 1 2009 at 8:55 PM.
I Personally think there should be some register to put violent men on so women can be warned.I was attacked by a man with a glass smashed my two front teeth out,he then punched me afterwards which made the jagged teeth cut all my lips.He got a suspended jail term of 6 months its a real joke as he is living his life as normal. My sympathy lies with the women and men should stop there violent crimes against women and should pay the price.

'There is a point in the incident where she says he was 6 foot, looked muscular, gave her a dirty look, drunk and she's a 5ft girl and she says "I stood my ground". I'm thinking: why did you stand your ground? She should have bitten the bullet, said to him yes you're better than me and walked off.'
WHAT? I am 5'4 and if some bloke threatened me, I don't care how big and muscular he is, I would stand my ground as well. Giving in to a bully like that just encourages that behaviour, and allows this idiot to think he is untouchable and can get away with anything. No one touches me or threatens me either, and I think she did the right thing standing up for herself.
No you need to read it closer than that. She already reacted to the grope and told him where to go like anyone should. But he came back 10 mins later and started goading her and she rose to it. She should've been smarter than that. She should have walked off at the opportunity I mentioned. When a drunk is asking for a fight you tell him what he wants to hear and back off. Especially when he's 6 ft and muscular and you're a 5 ft girl. Sometimes for self preservation you have to back down.
By Simon.. Posted November 1 2009 at 8:21 PM.
I dont believe in violence against women, or in fact violence full stop. Because women are generally physically weaker, they make up for it in other strengths and know more effectively than men, how to make life a misery - I know I've been there . A physical bruise leaves a scar and dents the ego, but will heal. A scarred heart doenst show and is harder to heal but can lead to desparate actions. But society seems to absolutley condemn physical violence but doesn't recognise other forms of attack- Not entirely relevant here - but I wanted to share that ;-)

Stupid King he has money but does not mean he is the king of england this man got money but no class .
By sourov.. Posted November 1 2009 at 7:59 PM.
It is completely unacceptable to say that King should never play professional football again, once he's served his time there will undoubtably be a team willing to take a chance on him and rightly so (ie, he's served his time/punishment) - why do people keep mentioning money? If they are unhappy with the amount footballers earn, stop watching them play and cancel the subscription to Sky Sports.
By darren.. Posted November 1 2009 at 7:59 PM.
it is a disgrace! and he's family are disgusting for defending him. Arsene wenger should keep his mouth shut because i doubt he would think that if he's daughter got punched......further more he isn't the onlt footballer in the world, so if he got banned is football going to end? NO! so thay should get rid!
By katie obetarra.. Posted November 1 2009 at 7:48 PM.
King said to her 'Ure not in my league'..well which league is he in? THE PREMIER LEAGUE!!..My point is this animal is not good image at all for the premier league...The FA should set standards for people who can play so as to improve its image and the image of the UK as they are always on TV. Im really sorry for Emily and thumbs up to her for standing tall to be counted.
By Imowo.. Posted November 1 2009 at 7:29 PM.
Part of being a professional is that you should act professional AT ALL TIMES! I can't understand how footballers, like marlon king, and others who have been convicted of criminal offences are allowed to continue to be professional footballers. If a nurse, doctor or anyone else who is part of a profession behaved in this manner they would be struck off the professional register, why is that not the case for footballers???
By jenny.. Posted November 1 2009 at 7:22 PM.

It's disgusting and I'm glad that he's banged up. having a few quid doesn't give anyone the right to act like that. A word of advice to Emma, see a civil lawyer now and hit him for damages! You must be entitled to compensation and enough money on top for him to pay for you to have a top plastic surgeon sort the nose out.NotW will advise you on that.
Good luck!

While this bloke is scum, an absolute idiot. There is a point in the incident where she says he was 6 foot, looked muscular, gave her a dirty look, drunk and she's a 5ft girl and she says "I stood my ground". I'm thinking: why did you stand your ground? She should have bitten the bullet, said to him yes you're better than me and walked off. She shouldn't have challenged him and being a 5 ft little girl is not always going to protect you.
By Simon.. Posted November 1 2009 at 5:31 PM.
I'm not defending King's actions as it was very a cowardly act. But when she says her face is disfigured for life she should watch that channel 4 programme 'Kate: my beautiful face'. Along with the cash shes raking in from these interviews, shes probably got enough to pay off her students debts. So there are some postives to take from this attack.
By Adam.. Posted November 1 2009 at 5:57 PM.
This man actually took a step back to gain force in his punch to hit a 5ft girl, he's an animal and should never be allowed on the pitch again, absolute scumbag.

I in no way defend this "animal/moron"...but what about Paul Gascoigne breaking Sheryls arm, giving her black eyes years ago now.. and Pauls antics in last 5years..headbutting police etc etc....bt we say he's mad eh? Is he really mad or just bad? Then they cart him off to Rehab for couple weeks then everythings alright is it? What about Johnathon Woodgate's antics years ago? Lee Bowyer? Joey Barton? Im an Englishman thru and thru and its quite sad when ppl become racist in their views of this "Over-Paid Uneducated Thug" called Marlon King
By Bob Caine.. Posted November 1 2009 at 5:09 PM.
I cant beleive another disgraced footballer is protected by his manager and be able to play for another club again, this brute should be thrown out of all clubs and never be able to play again, why dont we make examples of these so called gods?
By paul szucs.. Posted November 1 2009 at 5:01 PM.
I have met quite a few professional footballers who have fallen from grace and have gotten themselves arrested. Most of them were very arrogant..Dont you know who I am, dont you know that I earn more in a week that you do in a year...They all get paid too miuch, then they have a contemptable arrogance for the people who put them into the position of fame....I hope that this lad will have the time to contemplate his future...Only a very small proportion of soccer players live in wealth in retirement. I hope that when he is in his sixties he is still wealthy and not living in restricted circumstances...
By Bryan.. Posted November 1 2009 at 3:54 PM.
I do really like Arsene Wenger, but i totally disagree with what he had to say. Yeah i know that any other person would go straight back to work once they've served their time, but it isn't quite the same with people like Marlon King and many other footballers. So many kids look up to people of his caliber and aspire to make football thier profession, but he has down sized football after what he has done. His job is one that would be fun for anyone- including himself, to just wake up everyday and play football - this is why it should be taken away and the wages aswell. He will serve his time and then just go back to his usual ways which will probably beating more public people, he takes his occupation for granted. I'm very pleased that Dave Whelan has closed his contract with Wigan, i'm sure he'll struggle to find a club after this, he doesn't deserve the life he gets. Like the headlines have already said: 'Lowlife'. 100% agree.
I hope the pretty young girl does her best to get over it, she was beautiful....and as far as i can see, she hasn't changed! x

So this thug is appealing his 18 month sentance in prison for attacking a female.
If you read this posting Judge, look at the evidence and not any points of law his defence council may use to reduce his stay in prison. You and only you can send out the best message to him and his ilk by increasing his custodial term to a minimum of 5 years.
I rest my case for the public.

Although I have every sympathy for this young girl being a victim of such a vicious attack, I suggest she reads the tragic story of Katie Piper, a girl who has truly had her face disfigured after an acid attack, I'm sure she'll count her lucky stars that it was only her nose that's been broken.
By Anon.. Posted November 1 2009 at 4:09 PM.
It was reported that when Marlon King was sentenced at court, sympathisers shouted out comments that alluded to the decision being made due to racism. As a black woman who has confronted real racism in my life, reading this made me very angry. I am a firm believer that if black people are faced with racism, then they should stand up against small-minded bigots. However people should NEVER claim racism unless absolutely true.
In this instance King was found to have hit the girl in the face. It wasn't racism punched the victim in the face, it was Marlon King.
By Jenny B... Posted November 1 2009 at 4:05 PM.
While Marlon King's actions are horrible and nasty there are other points arising from this which deserve more attention.
King's actions bring into focus the world of false reality top footballers live in. He was out of control. The world of the permier leauge is also out of control, where the lack of respect for ref's by both palyers and fans is common place. Where the lack of respect for oppisition fans is commonplace. Where clubs attack other clubs with vast amounts of money to gain the upper hand. this is marlon kings world. A false reality.
I suggest that punching the girl, while disgusting, was not the worst feature of this case. People act out serious violence every weekend in the streets and bars in central london. The unbeleivable aspect of this case is kings denial and his refusal to accept the charge. This was truely disgusting. Arrogant and without regret. if he had held his hands up earlier, apoligised and pleaded guilty and paid compo he may have avoided jail. Instead he believed he was smarter that the law. his refusal to accept reality is born from (a) his own personility, but also from (b) from the world he moves in where there is a complete breakdown of reality.

Emily you are very brave, now sue that piece of scum for damages
By JohnK.. Posted November 1 2009 at 3:13 PM.
This was an horrific attack on an innocent young woman enjoying a night out, but her quote 'I have lost my old face' is a tad over the top. Emily you are still an attractive young lady, you only have to look at Katie Piper, the young woman who had acid thrown in her face, to know the true meaning of that phrase.
By Di.. Posted November 1 2009 at 3:25 PM.
tht is soooooooooo out of order marlon king to do tht to a innocent girl
By daniel.. Posted November 1 2009 at 3:22 PM.
The big Question is.... would he have done such a thing if he was on a standard working wage? probably not. Money is power but power in the wrong hands is lethal. Footballers get paid far to much which makes them think they are invincible.
By Berty.. Posted November 1 2009 at 3:11 PM.
Comment to Mis: If, as you say, you teach then you should know that your grammar leaves a lot ot be desired. 'You're' = 'You are'. 'Your' = belonging to you. The apostrophe indicates a missing letter, i.e. 'a' - get the idea? Brush up on your grammar. King is an arrogant so and so, and we all know that, but if a teacher is contributing a comment, then you would expect at leat a better command of English grammar.
By Heather.. Posted November 1 2009 at 2:41 PM.
I hope he comes out of prison more humble and with remorse. I can't stand arrogant footballers (I know they're not all like that!) who think they're above everyone else and the law, just because they're good at kicking a ball and have loads of money.
By Kelmia.. Posted November 1 2009 at 2:41 PM.
never sould play again he was nothing but trouble at hull.. he started a fight with dean windass in a casino.. just a few weeks before hitting a women.. what a divy... see if he can stand up for his self in prison... think not..!
By julian.. Posted November 1 2009 at 2:01 PM.
It look a lot of courage for Ms. Carr to come forward and tell her story to the public. And, I would like to hope it will have made a difference in permanently banning that coward & bully Marlon King from the pitch. He is a disgrace and any team that allows him to play has no honor.
By Marc.. Posted November 1 2009 at 1:54 PM.
if u ban him ban gerrad u england fans woudnt be to happy about that considerinthe world cups soon
and if the attack was so bad why isit her face swollen.gerrads victim looked 10 times wrse and that was to a man
By hypocrits.. Posted November 1 2009 at 1:30 PM.
In california it's the three strikes deal...3rd conviction...life in prison. this is disgracefull...18mths...he should never play again!!
By scott.. Posted November 1 2009 at 1:17 PM.
now take action against him for damages, that's how you will hurt him!!!!!!!!!!!!!
By Barry.. Posted November 1 2009 at 1:16 PM.
I feel sorry for the girl, and Marlon should never play football again. I saw her most recent photo and she looks absolutely fine now, so please don't use a term like "disfugured for life". It's a huge insult to people like Katie Piper.
By Ramshackle.. Posted November 1 2009 at 12:53 PM.
People who behave like that and have that attitude to women don't belong in this society. So he can kick a football? So what? Why do we celebrate that talent over nurses, doctors, paramedics, firemen, policemen, soldiers, public servants, and artists etc etc, all of whom give so much more to society than this ball-kicking neanderthal?! Ban him from football and give him a menial job in line with his menial level of intelligence and contribution to society.
By Sarah.. Posted November 1 2009 at 12:28 PM.
He is nothing but a savage. How can anyone justify this behaviour. What a dreadful time we live in.
By Sarah.. Posted November 1 2009 at 12:26 PM.
scum..marlon king u r total scum
By natalie.. Posted November 1 2009 at 12:39 PM.
this animal should never play football again , he is a disgrace i hope someone does him while he is inside . What a pig man
By napalm.. Posted November 1 2009 at 12:42 PM.
No doubt he should never play again. Sadly though he probably will after all Joey Barton is still playing. I am sure there are countless other footballers who also believe they are above the law. I am a football fan actually I should say football fanatic, but I despise the way some players such as King ruins the image of the game. He should be made to pay dearly for his cowardly act.
By Andrew.. Posted November 1 2009 at 12:17 PM.
I agree with Wenger. Once King has served his time he should be allowed to return to football. If this was anyone else, they would be allowed to return back to work after their punishment.
By James T.. Posted November 1 2009 at 12:17 PM.
Obviously the player can't handle wealth and status so if he were to be reduced to living on a similar wage to the rest of us and become a nobody we would be doing him a kindness, don't you think? Not that he deserves our kindness but this sort of gesture of good-will would be just one of those things we refer to as the ironies of life!
By Maggy.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:55 AM.
People like King never change. With Thirteen previous convictions behind him, some of which were for assaults on women, how many more chances are people going to give him?No club should even consider signing up this low life when he gets out.It will only be a matter of time before he's in trouble again. His agent ask's if we should expect him to go and work at McDonalds.Well why not?Though they probably would have the good sense not to employ this scum bag anyway.
By Richard.. Posted November 1 2009 at 12:05 PM.
I am sick to the back teeth of reading about arrogant wealthy young men who have wealth not through doing a hard days work like most of us but earning millions kicking a football around. This attack was a disgrace and i cannot believe the sentence was not nearer 5 years. The guy did not have the bottle to plead guilty, oh he says he is not guilty and will appeal oh and he thinks the sentence is too long and he will appeal that,we shall see.He has no respect for women including his wife, this was supposed to be his celebration for his wife's pregnancy, shameful i say. He is going to lose a million pounds going to prison so what thats his fault, in any event he already has more money than most of us will ever see.
By ian talks.. Posted November 1 2009 at 12:04 PM.
If the attack happened at other place other than a night club I could have been there to support getting lead of him permanently from this beautiful sport but now I really dont know. Wenger is entitled to his opinion after all every coin has two sides otherwise its a fake one.
By Josiah Chisale.. Posted November 1 2009 at 12:07 PM.
I hope the team he ends up with loses most of their fans. He does not deserve the breath he breathes.
By Richmondtommy.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:51 AM.
Ban him from professional football.
Sue the pants off him. He obviously values money more than people so use the conviction to get a civil action off the ground.
The loss of his money will really hurt!
By Allan.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:44 AM.
I work everyday from 8am to 4.30pm for one year to get paid HALF his weekly wage!! Joke. Should be locked up for more for what the arrogant idiot did!!
By Linda.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:42 AM.
Arsene Wenger: you are everything that is wrong with football, you disgusting man. You'd sign him after he serves a few months, as a 14th conviction, would you? Shame on you Wenger, you, King and everything like you in English football repulses me.
By James.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:46 AM.
One word for you Malon King, PIG!!!! And I hope you never get to play football again. How proud your family must be of you!!
By Lisa .. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:29 AM.
I agree with everything Emily says, he shouldn't be allowed his career again, but this society is all about money and the human sense of life is lost in superficial lifestyles. Its' like when the bar owner said "'King is a really nice guy - he spends lots of money." What could a 5ft girl have possibly said to deserve a heavy punch in her face? Please consider.....if it was his daughter (probably the newly born baby) 20 years later in the same situation how he would he feel...? we need to get together to change this material society but not tomorrow-NOW- starting from this event as we are already too late....
By lucio.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:31 AM.
Marlon King has been in trouble before. He thinks he's it due the fact hes a footballer on a 40,000 a week sallery. He has some mental issues that needs to be solved as for his football career if a club will be stupid enough to sign him on there books. Well done Mr Weelan for terminating his contract.
By Marcus.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:22 AM.
Wenger should be sacked with making such stupid comments like that. The man is a serial criminal if you look at the long list of convictions, a normal person with a criminal record struggles (rightly so) to get a proper career type job, so why the hell should a footballer be any different? Because football is a seedy, corrupt world!
This King's sentence was far too light considering the crime.
By SarahinFrance.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:20 AM.
There should be no question of him ever playing football again, if our legal system was fair and just he would be locked away for the rest of his life along with the rest of the scum.
By RED DAVE.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:12 AM.
Why do you keep refering to King as a MAN, real men do not beat up women, you can't refer to him as an animal because animals protect their own. King is a one man army, he believes his money and status "footy player" is his almighty passage to do and say whatever he wants. His wife knows in her heart that he is a thug. Emily, we need more women like you to come forward when being abused or attacked by monsters like him. These idiots who think it's all about the big pay day they just don't get it. Let it be someone from their family. Shame on the manager from the night club, but I wouldn't expect anything different, money talks. As for King, he can do all the ass groping he wants in his new home, I think they would welcome it.
By Sharon.. Posted November 1 2009 at 11:12 AM.
I think its disgusting some people on here believe she provoked the attack and blame her for wanting to tell her side of the story. I think its only fair she should be able to make it known how badly she has been treated because he spends alot of money at a nightclub. There are also people who like to blame the victims because they were dressed revealing or wotever but that is the same attitude as King had. Under no circumstance is it acceptable for a man to hit a woman end of. And I think its disgusting his family want to play the race card; he has been foun guilty of a crime he pays the punishment nothing to do with skin colour, but its typically the attacker ususally plays the victim when they have been caught. If he wasnt a footballer the sentence would have been longer and it should be taking into account it was a attack on a woman, his 13 previous and the fact he lied to the jury and tried to get off with this. King is a pathetic bully. I cannot see why his wife would stand by him, this is not his first attackt on a female and I certainly wouldnt want anything to do with a man who hit women.

Footballers are role models...do me a favour!!!!
By Fubar.. Posted November 1 2009 at 10:49 AM.
gary- how the hell has this poor girl in any way to blame for any of this? she does not sound like "a snooty cow" she sounds like someone who was peed off that some arrogant perverted thug started touching her up and then started on her friends and refused to leave them alone even after it being made crystal clear she and her friends weren't interested. i cant believe that anyone would have such a stupid attitude- what should she have done after having her bottom squeezed roughly by this scumbag- humoured him? i dont think so. i hope no one signs him after this, i know they probably will tho even tho he dont deserve it.
By saffy.. Posted November 1 2009 at 10:30 AM.
It does seem in football people get allowed a second chance, regardless of what convictions you have. An assault of this nature would definately be the end of other professional careers like a teacher, policeman, health professional etc.

Why would anyone want to employ such a character?
By machia.. Posted November 1 2009 at 10:05 AM.
I am glad I am not a football fan. The directors/owners of Arsenal Football Club should re-consider Mr. Wenger's comments and sack him for the good of the game ofr whatever is left of it.

to plead not guilty with so much evidence against him shows he was hoping for the usual result so called stars recieve from the public, just scum
