- HE preached a doctrine of hatred. He wanted to put "pure" whites first and eradicate all other races. And he said this would unify his nation. Adolf Hitler in the 1930s - and Nick Griffin now - prove one thing: the faces may change over time, but in hard times the seductive evil of racism can still thrive.
- HERE, from the former Archbishop of Canterbury to celebrities of all colours and creeds, something else remains the same too: The view that there is no place for the filth spouted by Griffin's BNP in Britain today.
BNP leader Nick Griffin was last night branded a "squalid racist" by the former Archbishop of Canterbury.
LORD CAREY revealed how he "shuddered" when Griffin used the phrase "Christian Britain" during his stormy appearance on BBC's Question Time.
And he branded the blustering BNP boss "a 21st Century pipsqueak heir to Hitler and Mosley".
Lord Carey is today joined in his condemnation of the BNP by rags to riches Jewish tycoon and Alan Sugar - who slammed the far-right party as "twisted" - and British celebritities who drew parallels between the BNP and the Nazis.
The ex-Archbishop represents a generation who know only too well the damage done by a party with a similar ideology. This is what he told the News of the World:
7To hear the phrase "Christian Britain" coming from the mouth of Nick Griffin made me shudder. It was the most chilling moment of Question Time, perhaps better described as the Nick Griffin Show.

And what a pity that none of the other panelists challenged Griffin's deceitful attempt to align his despicable policies with Christianity. This squalid racist must not be allowed to hijack one of the world's great religions.
All of us who believe in tolerance and decency must stand shoulder-to-shoulder in rejection of Griffin's notion that "Christianity" has any place in his bigotry. I tend to agree that the BBC was mistaken to give the BNP such prominence. To use Margaret Thatcher's phrase, it was the "oxygen of publicity" that propelled the insignificant and undeserving party into the Big Time. The BBC's Director General errs in arguing that in a democracy all views should be heard. The views of the BNP are not simply false, they are dangerous, indeed irredeemably evil.
Nevertheless, 'Any Questions' DID expose Nick Griffin's views to public scrutiny. What we saw on our screens was a 21st Century pipsqueak heir to Hitler and Mosley. If the public believed beforehand that support for the BNP was a protest vote against remote or out of touch politicians, they were proved wrong. The BNP leader was unveiled as a sly, shifty figure who would hide unpalatable truths, and cynically spin regardless of the truth, for the sake of votes and funds. Sadly the other political parties were let off the hook. The cowardly failure of successive governments to address our open borders is the reason the BNP has gained admittance to the political mainstream.
With the latest estimate that our population will rise by nearly 10 million by 2030, politicians are ducking the unpalatable truth: we are now one of the most over-populated countries in the world.
It is asking a huge amount of the British public to accept an open-door policy on immigration. They have seen a massive influx of newcomers, they have seen their jobs hit, and they feel ignored. There have not been adequate resources to help community adapt to these massive changes. Yet it is not only a question of resources but the failure to absorb and integrate new communities. The discredited policy of multiculturalism must be abandoned once and for all. Now a controlled approach to immigration is needed with clear caps set on population growth. If the mainstream parties begin listening to the voters, the BNP can be consigned again to the fringes.
Make no mistake about it, immigration MUST be a major item on next year's General Election agenda.
Let us vote in a party that is going to deal with this in a balanced and firm way.
If we fail, the BNP will feed off the anger and frustration of citizens of all races and religions in this small island of ours.
The Archbishop's views were backed by Apprentice star LORD ALAN SUGAR, who told us: "The BNP is a terrible danger to Britain because they are inciting terrible racist tendencies. We can all do well without them.
"Regretfully the BNP is, like it or not, a political party and the BBC has to treat them as such. But the Question Time audience was superb and said everything that any decent person would have said to this particular man.
"There has been talk of BNP leader Nick Griffin thinking it was good for them. It's a rather bizarre logic as I can't imagine any viewer forming that opinion.
"Growing up in the East End in the 1950s, I experienced anti-Semitism. I think society has got better, much better. There was an ignorance in those days. We absolutely don't want these people dragging us back to those days."
Black singer JAVINE HYLTON, 27, was proud to represent Great Britain at the Eurovision Song Contest. She said: "Watching Nick Griffin on Question Time left me thinking BNP was another name for the Ku Klux Klan.
"Anyone who couldn't see the parallels between the BNP and the Nazis before will be able to now. I'm shocked the BNP has any popular support at all. But if anyone is to blame for that, it's the main political parties.
"They are failing to engage voters worried about rising immigration."
Dragon's Den entrepreneur THEO PAPHITIS, 50, emigrated to Britain from Cyprus in 1966. He now owns the Ryman stationery empire and is worth more than £160million.
He said: "The BBC was absolutely right to give the BNP a platform. These guys have been hiding in the shadows for far too long. It was high time a light was shone on their policies.
"The main parties have been too scared to address uncapped immigration. That has handed the BNP two MEPs. It has allowed the BNP to take the Union Jack as its own - a great shame for this country.
"The BNP are incredibly ignorant. They hold dearest beliefs that people 50 or 60 years ago fought to stamp out."

It’s a shame the Church of England did not speak out in the defence of Nadia Eweida the BA employee who was suspended for displaying her crucifix. The Church of England should spend less time defending other faiths and concentrate on its own. As far as know the BNP are a legal democrat party of this country, and it is a bit late in the day for the Church of England to single out a particular Political Party.

The people who vote for the BNP are the most vunerable who need help. Problem is that the BNP cant deliver that change, they have not got a clue about real politics and are just a bunch of racists!

George Carey is the last person to be slagging any one off let alone the BNP.
During Carey's tenure as Archbishop of Canterbury he plunged the CofE into chaos and schism. threatening to resign if The General Synod voted against the Priestess Measure in 1992.
Now when a moral compass is needed the Church of England is a lost cause.
Lesson from History the more you act against the such parties the stronger they grow.
Let us see some action from the crooks in Parliament, Electoral reform one person one vote, referendum on the new style EU. Keep the name the House of Lords but with an elected membership.

I do not agree with all of BNP's policies, but they are the only ones who have the guts to speak out about the high level of immigration in the UK. I am not a racist but the immigration level in the UK really does need to be looked at and sorted. The BNP have more chance of succeeding if labour do not get their act together.

After the Ice Age ended Britain began to be populated by Celts, most of whom came from Spain and some from Italy. With ancestors from Wales, Cornwall and the Isle of Man I claim Celtic heritage.
Everyone else is a latecomer, including the Griffins. Griffin, of course, is a name that originated in the late Persian Empire 550BC to 350BC. Thus as an indigenous person I intend to send the Griffins back to where they came from (which is present day Iran or Iraq). Bon Voyage.

Hitler had the same ideas as the BNP except his main target of hate where the Jews so comparing Griffin to Hitler is correct.
There is nothing wrong with questioning the holocaust numbers but griffin has criminal record for denying the holocaust and i guess implying it probably wasn’t as many as people say. He wasn’t born when the holocaust happened so he has no idea what really happened.
Islam is not evil, but like all races and religions it has good and bad people believing in it. The few bad ones are making Islam look bad for the vast majority of good people. Just like the BNP are making white working class look racist, when over 95% are not racist and do not support the BNP.
There is nothing wrong with wanting to stop immigration, deport illegals and criminals. But to the BNP any one is not white british is an immigrant, where as in the real world any who isn’t a british citizen is an immigrant so there is a huge difference.
Support against the BNP from many including VIPs is also growing, so you get use to it.

Both my grandfather and grandfather-in-law fought for Britain in WWII. They fought to keep out foreigners seeking to impose their will, their language, their alien culture, themselves and whole new way of life on the British people. They won. They were both injured, leaving them affected for the rest of their lives. They were both rewarded with a tiny pension, a free tax disc for being unable to walk and sub-standard council housing.
The Britain they fought for now, thanks to the Labour government, is unrecognisable. English is rapidly becoming our second language. Our national dish is slowly being replaced by something we can't even pronounce. Our traditions that Churchill and they fought for are being eroded. Where are the big city Christmas trees? Where are the hot cross buns in schools? Where are the George Crosses? WHERE is Britain?
Immigration is out of control. Britain is changed forever. Change is good in small doses. Britain is dying of an overdose.
Until the big parties give us the antidote, people will turn to the British National Party as the only party who recognises the symptoms of a dying nation.

What has race to do with immigration? If you are going to stop non-white immigrants, then you must do the same with whites or you can kiss goodbye to justice. But the immigration issue is of course but a pretext to get rid of people whose skin colour offends certain very sick individuals. Hitler remember was a psychotic. Who knows what lurks inside this man's mind as well? The ties uniting people of the same race are deceptively weak. He is kidding himsel if he thinks otherwise. What can unite Britain is its ethnic diversity if we but embrace it. He is also fighting against the tide. How utterly sad and pathetic! "Squalid racist" is very apt term.

Our political parties, and I have said this for years are breeding hatred not the BNP. If they actually faced the problem head on and actually took a look round our streets they might stop the growth of the BNP straight away. They instead close their eyes and ears and hope it all goes away.
They are also obsessed with promoting 'multiculturalism.' It does not exist, so face up to it.

Why are Tory party being blamed for Labour immigration policy?? Folks had a chance in 2001 when Hague warned what was going to happen. Likewise in 2005 Howard warned again but the same folks voted for Labour again.
Tory policy is clear a cap on non-european immigration & border police force. As for europe - well shout at Labour again they have signed away our right to even have a say. Tories said when Europe expanded there needed to be a cap on how many could come to UK - almost ever other country did but no Labour threw open the doors.
Tories have been called racists for their proposals up to now. All of a sudden they are no different to Labour.

If Lord Carey were true to his so-called Chritian faith he would be out on the streets helping the poor and dispossessed. Instead he chooses to spend his time in the relative comfortable luxury of the House of Lords, claiming his expenses and top-grade parliamentary meals in the Parliamentary restaurant.
Why should anyone take any notice of that buffoon Carey? What does he know or care about the conditions that people live in? All he knows is what he reads.
