He was left red - faced and deflated after netting a bizarre own goal last week.
But now the country's most famous beachball has bounced back after being taken on HOLIDAY by his favourite newspaper (redtop, obviously) to cheer him up.
Yes, we gave red ball wings . . .

In an emotional interview, Beachy balled his eyes out as he detailed a blow-by-blow-up account of last Saturday's drama after he was chucked on the pich by a young Liverpool fan.

He huffed and puffed: "I won't try and deflect the truth - Sunderland's winning goal was my fault. I let the fans down - now they want to let me down!"

But unlike with Reds goalie Pepe Reina, Beachy was in safe hands as we whisked him off to the seaside at Blackpool.
Everyone wanted to get their hands on him - including Dancing On Ice stars Kyran Bracken, Todd Carty and Donal MacIntyre, who are in a skating show there.
He also enjoyed a quick pint with boxing champ Ricky Hatton before bouncing on to famous landmarks around the country.

He rolled up at Wembley to see the famous Bobby Moore statue. And he took the ballsy decision to to visit Liverpool's Anfield ground. Sadly, no one there seemed keen to meet him.
The infamous inflatable then even appeared on Sky Sports show Soccer AM with Max Rushden and Helen Chamberlain.
Afterwards, a pumped up Beachy said: "Thanks News of the World. You've blown me away."
AUCTION UPDATE: The News of the World will be auctioning off the ball for charity. Check back here on Wednesday, November 4 for details.
